Ha. Was a BIG win. 8 point game for sure. And yeah I misunderstood your original trade post. I thought Mummy was up. Never mind... Still willing to discuss backups though, if you want to have a look. I got pretty lucky in the end I think. Maric is a 25 hitout player, who does little else. And he somehow got... well... ALL of the hitouts this week. Hence why I hope I don't encounter you again. Thoughts? Jeez our lists are big. Trading is a tricky prospect.

I fully undertsand the OP's point... But surely that game wasn't as bad as the last 3? Some of the changes we need have come about... We had SOME outside ball finally.

- Melbourne v Western Bulldogs
- Maccas or Smorgys?

For every lucky break he gets, he'll have three touches where he drills it straight down the opposition's throat. To go with a handful of weak contests. He's not an AFL footballer yet. If you can't see that, you're blind...

???? Were we watching the same game? He might have kept Murphy quiet, but he was recruited ages ago, with Newton and Bate as one of our up and coming big players... All of them have been disappointments. Tagging an ageing has-been, and we're to think that's a win for us? I think people are justified in their frustratio with him. Draft a player that high and keep him that long you expect him to nullify a player AND get 20ish damaging touches + goals... No disrepect to the original poster. But I do remember sitting there at one point with Bate in the midfield playing as well as he has in years and STILL being slow, with Dunn playing a negative role, and I just thought, this isn't good...

Gee I hope I don't have to play you again Robbo... Out of interest, is Carrazzo on the table now?
-
Ah. I got all excited. I'm willing to trade Maric and something for Mummy... I guess I also have Vickery and Cordy that we could talk about?
-
None of the media will say it, because they're all nuff nuffs... But Clake might end up one of the recruits of the year. No-one talked about it, but to kick five in a 100 point loss... in one of the lowest inside fifty games in recorded history... That's startling.
-
This is gonna hurt this week. How are you seeing the game so far? Carrazzo out is huge. Tippet was scaring me at the start of the game.
-
Aggressive trading is the secret, I think you've got a slight lead on me, just going by what I've seen my list dish up this year.

Getting smashed here by my little bro.

We're not playing that badly - hear me out
Dappa Dan replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's what's so depressing. You're right. Some things we're doing very well. Contested ball, Mitch is playing ok, certainly providing that contest we've been missing... We're following instructions... And yet? -
Me neither. Having said that, that's like saying I've never been this close to Alpha Centauri... Even if true, I'm still never going there. What concerns me with all this is the bottom line for the club. I couldn't make the game today, wanted to go, but at 3/4 time was GLAD I wasn't there. How many so-so fans out there must be bailing on the dees? How many permanently? Even in 2008 which was supposed to be our lowest point, we still had Robbo, Davey in his best year, a few guys who would walk onto other lists like Green. And best of all we had two of our most memorable wins in recent years... The Freo comeback and the Brisbane comeback... The club's probably never been lower. I didn't live in the post Red Fox era, those 20 odd years must have been awful, but I'd love to know which was worse....
-
There's Morton. Then there's Watts. Neither was acceptable... But one was FAR worse than the other. I'd say only Howie did enough today. I am encouraged by how Jones is going, and Davey having a dip... but they still didn't get it enough. One player. Unbelievable. At least the Bulldogs will cop it instead of us this week. Until next weekend.

I'm not saying string him up now... But... I remember Daniher used to say his job was to win games of football. I always found that odd, that that's all he was trying to do... Almost like as if winning a flag was considered a bonus if it happened. I hated that. But I think Neeld is no better. Pig-headedly insisting on hard footy with nothing else, that's too unidirectional again...
-
Disagree. I think some blame has to go to Neeld. We didn't get 12 goals worse in the space of one off season. We dominated this team, and the bombers... and now we look worse than a VFL team. SOME of the blame has to go to Neeld. His plan may work, but right now, I don't see how humiliation that hurts your club is actually HELPING.
-
Disgusting footy club. Some of the blame has to go to Neeld now. We were good enough for 8 wins last year. We habvent gotten 15 goals worse against the Tiges in one off season. His job may be to win flags, not individual games, and he ay believe hardening us up is the way... But I can't see why teaching them to toughen up means you have to humiliate them too.
-
Watching Davey... I thoght he played well... but he's gotten 8 touches.... weird.
-
And now Grimes gone for next week.
-
I thought 2008 was our lowest point in my life. This year will be worse. We will only have a chance to win against the new sides... and even those, I think they'll give GC more of a chance than us. We could win 3 or less again.
-
Interchange stuff up. Game over.
-
Yeah, he is getting to the contests... it's just what he does when he gets it, or is around it... I reckon the few good contests he has are more accidental than anything. That one amazing Clark play? Bate caused the spillage by basically not jumping, almost giving away the free by flailing about... He's trying hard, doing a lot, it's just he doesn't have the skill for the modern game. Unless they make him a KP defender or something.
-
Shouldn't have opened my mouth. We're a disgusting football club.
-
Much better. But then that's what happens against lesser teams. Morton and Bate aren't up to it...
-
Eeeexactly. Of all the articles you see, how many admit to not knowing anything about footy? And yet so few can actually predict the future. It's perfectly simple. You either innovate, or you lose. As a club, the best we've had in my lifetime is Daniher who copied whatever we last saw win a flag. Which meant we'd always end up 6thish... Enough to keep his job for 10 years. Recruiting players for a plan is one thing. But if you're recruiting for whatever the popular model is right now, you're guaranteed to not win a flag.

Oh [censored], I thouht you were serious for a minute there... My eyes turned into dollar signs. Yeah, I'm not following them.
