- Yeah massive for Eagles. I definitely didn't think we could win it right up until the penultimate drive, where I thought if they don't go for it on 4th down, we'll win. Still don't really understand how they did it. No way they have the Colts' talent. - I have a feeling that right up until week 15 Dallas will be one game behind Eagles and just never go away. Their D is fine. It'll get exposed but has done a great job so far. Their offense is giving up more TDs than they are. Giants are terrible, but not so bad that they'll get Mariotta. RG3 out will probably help Skins in the next few weeks somehow. But yes, put what you got on Eagles to make postseason. After what I saw this morning, I can't see how they'll miss. - You've got that right on NFC Norf... WAY too hard to pick. WIll come down to injuries/suspensions/criminal investigations. Though I safely put the Pack ahead of the others in the long run.

Luck didn't even play that well, somehow I looked at his stats and he was only on about 60 or so yards in the third quarter... and somehow it felt like he was gonna kill us at any moment. When he got it right, my god, he got it right. When Brees, Brady and Peyton are done, he'll slot in to one of their spots in the top 5. Almost certainly hall of fame.

The Colts pick at end of 1st half? Was a sort of hail mary really.... but an athletic take for sure. The Eagles one that won the game was actually a penalty. SHouldn't have been allowed.

Can you let me know how that goes?

Hmm. Centrebet only has superbowl winner and weekly games unfortunately?

I don't know betting very well, but I'd be interested in that.

I don't understand what you mean about Jacksonville? The stat counts for everyone regardless of teams. Not an important stat, I'll grant you... but still a bit of fun. I'm not sure I agree with a lot of what you said, but the above is dead on. I think everyone likes a coach who makes good gameday calls. Chip's only ok in this regard. Makes one ugly one for every 2 good ones... but more importantly he puts together a team and then coaches to their strengths. He won't pick up a player that will fit HIS offense. He does it the other way round. The good thing about that is how you can lose players each year, like the Eagles did, and it doesn't matter so much. And the fact that he wins games all the time with pretty much a no-name offense and defense, besides McCoy speaks to the fact his plans are working. Most importantly though, as you say, he has the development thing down. There's players who were a bit of a question mark, and they've improved. Pretty much everywhere. It makes you think he won't need to make it every year to keep his job. That's important in the what have you done for me lately league... I think most Eagles fans are confused about what he is, but this year will be disappointed to not win a playoff. I think that's fair.

You'll have to forgive the gloating. Was a pretty damn good win though, even with the lucky penalties.

Eagles: Noones ever come back from 14 don back to back in first two weeks of a season. Beating the Colts in Colts land... Are they the real deal? What say you demonland?

It's a helluva game already. Gee whiz Luck is good. Colts look like they're just ON.... No penalties yet. Eagles have given away 3-4 bad ones.

He sure as hell aint no pocket passer. Not in this league. He could learn over the space of years, and with a good coach etc... but a huge part of his gifts has to do with mobility and instinct. If you talk pure pocket though, there's a lot of second rate QBs who will NEVER play a season as good as his rookie season, that are better players than him in the pocket.

I stand corrected on Kap. I do see, though, a lot of games where guys make big old screw ups, Favre-like, and somehow still win. Still take the game on. You may be right about him being out of the top 5... That's exalted company. But Kap really does strike fear into fans' hearts, I reckon. But there again, I spose that's true of more than 50% of starting QBs, allowing for coaches, systems, OLs etc...

NFL
Lol. yup. About Kap, I can never bring myself to put him in my top 5, and sometimes top 10... But if that's a BAD game? Then you're doing ok. He makes plays... a LOT.

NFL
Didn't see? Probably. They were flagging you for pretty much everything.

Pretty impressive by Bears.... even with all the penalties helping them.

NFL
Yup. He'll earn himself a starting job somewhere by season's end. Look at RG3's ankle on replay. Ouch.

Chiefs fan eh? They were going pretty hard... But Manning looks like he's gonna Manning this game unfortunately.

NFL
What's the bigger news so far though? RG3 and DJax both hurt, and Cousins tearing Jacksonville a new one? Or is it the Jets killing Green Bay? Or maybe even bigger Rivers rolling Seattle?

So back to the NFL.... how about these top line RBs? Jamaal Charles out, AP out, Lynch quiet so far today... And the next gen guys lifting like Ingram. How good was Murray?

Yup. That's it in a nutshell... most of the podcasts I've been listening to deal with the fact that most can't believe that an organisation with the power the NFL has COULDN'T have seen the video. ie, they were in a Casino where there's cameras everywhere. I don't quite see that. If they were informed this is the video that contains all the details, they may not have even asked for more footage. So at the VERY least, it seems perhaps incompetent. And yeah, Rice saying he struck her... is that the same thing as this video, which is just so freaking appalling? The other thing in CFH's video that was interesting was the accusation that Rice's wife was interviewed with Rice present, which goes against all current procedures to do with counselling and spousal abuse. After being on this for a few days, I'm hoping that Goodell doesn't get the arse. He came out and admitted fault and instantly changed the NFL's procedure. So under him, change is being brought about. Then again, I'm in Australia. What do I know.

Yeah. I have a feeling double jeopardy means he won't.

Have you played Ultimate Footy JV7? It's a bit less complicated than that..... but don't worry. Your first season, against experienced opposition, you're definitely up against it. I started this thread years ago, and have been a huge NFL fan this whole time, and this is my first year in NFL fantasy, and I'm still a bit lost...

Yeah I've heard things about the police getting involved in some way since the vid was released. My FAVOURITE thing about Goodell is how he often admits fault. How likely do you think it would be that Demetriou would admit fault? I admire Goodell's stance on many cutting edge issues like depression, concussion and of course the GLBT community. They don't HAVE to show support, but they do. We all look at it almost as a "so what" thing... but in one of the most traditionalist and backward organisations in the world, I reckon it's extraordinary that they've come so far. And Goodell deserves some of the credit for that. Now that I think about it, is it possible that in the past he has been seen to be too reactionary to public sentiment? Throwing out bans of 6-8 weeks as a direct result of youtube clips etc.... maybe this one time he was trying to go slow... and managed to pick the worst possible time. Yeah good summation of the Vick thing. Rice is in a unique position here. He hasn't acted contrite, hasn't accepted any blame.... he really could pull a Vick and make a difference here. Vick's response in the media and rehab has been an enormous success. He recognises he'll never be forgiven, but works tirelessly despite that fact. Is now a family man and, from an Eagles supporter's point of view, pretty much the most professional attitude to football, especially being backup, that there is out there. I'm 99% sure that Rice shouldn't be given the opportunity to play again though. Are you?
