Ah yes, but its not so hard to understand when you put it into context of what the AFL are seeking. They are not the protagonists in this, ASADA is. The AFL will be running around trying to mitigate the fallout from this and prepare a "penalty" which doesnt damage the brand ( read profitability ) too much The AFL dont want players exposed as druggies nor clubs as systematic rorters. Thats not 'nice' news. The AFL will be waiting on the handing down of ASADAS findings and then it will apply the spin team to try to minimise the fallout. It can affect this to a degree but the pulling of the trigger is out of its hands. In the mean time they will keep most of their powder dry, and in reality why wouldnt you in that situation.

I wonder when these umpiring gurus will figure out theyve over complicated the game, get rid of some of the silly nuances and restore the spectacle and contest.

Thats pretty much how I see it ( and saw it )..Ithought at the time, theyre tiring a little and its taking a yard off. If this keeps up they will pounce as many other teams are still much more fit than us. I also thought, I wonder who will have enough sense to pick and choose the moments when to brings momentum ( theirs ) to a halt !! Hes had many detractors but Jack ( W) can think well on his feet. I think hes a really good footy player.. He actually "gets" the game. ( funny youd think all afl players did...but hey ) He has terrific application. I just want him to kick better; icing on the cake. its his only real flaw. Im sure hell do what he can to change it. He must know. Ive actually noticed a few times where Craig will actually show a player at training what hes doing wrong in that regard. Probably needs to spend a month with Tom

Thompson has a nice cushy job back amongst his people. Lots of money, not as much gameday worry . Would be perfect for him. Happy for him to stay there. Win win

Im sorry im just not convinced hes even a good kick at training. Theres little fluidity in his dropping action and hes hesitant with his follow through . Some blokes are natural kicks. Some train and train and practice til it improves . Hes certainly not the former and needs to be the latter. So often many a players good work is brought undone , negated and punished by poor disposal. You then exist on the wrong side of the balance sheet . How many goals have the Dees given away this year ? Granted far far from being Toms fault alone.....just saying .

For me the PP doesnt work (that well ). I put it in this light We need to ramp up our competitveness as of game one 2104 A kid wont do that, he'll be 2-3 years away given I suspect that we are all looking to a quality mid(s) So...the best value of a PP is trade. . A mini draft provides this ( and more imho ) whilst not overly taxing the rest of the competition, i.e it ought to be more palatable. I concede the major obstacle to this is no precedent ( not for an existing club ) all minis have been for expansion clubs. Icant see us getting a PP but would say thankyou. i think greater value can be had of some "special" funding to facilitate a good contract to a decent coach. He will impact 44 players..a PP will impact one ( maybe )

What urks me is that by nature Im a disbeliving sod. Someone comes to me with such and such or lays claim to something that has a direct impact on me or exposes me to risk then Ill tell them, yep, I'll get back to you on that. I'll go and ask someone or look it up and find out. I believe hardly anyone about most things. Invariably much is just as is reckoned and all is fine. We all know however sometimes things are not quite as represented. Golly, some people tell fibs ffs . Its terrible I lay claim to no Rocket Scientist intellect ( and many of you will kindly concur !! ) So if I can be dubious , I would think any number of those players would also be, especially as noted that they are constantly being told to be vigilant about what they take as it WILL come back to THEM !! Football clubs like everyone have to work within the law. They have to abide by common laws as well as those set down by any BODY that has a juristiction in their realm, i,e sport. They have a duty of care as they are contracted to perform a task for remunerations. That contract will have stipulations and its incumbant upon the signees to be dilligent and maintain their optimum abilities ( both sides of coin ) maybe all footballers arent cluey but many are. I have one AFL player in my Building class and hes surprised me with his understandings and abilites. Whod have think from a bloke who turns up in Ripcurl trackies and Haviannas !! lol These guys talk amongst themselves. Much of it is about what they do. You cant tel me there were NO convos relating to the good or bad of these injections. The fact they had to sign something !! Surely alarm bells rang in someones mind !!! How did this all not permeate its way to the powers that be ? Of course it did. Some chose to just leave it as "unoffical" and lay claim to plausible deniability. it isnt ...I agree...but For mine heres the thing. We live in a world where so much info is at your fingertips. How is it apparently no one googled the peptide and came back to the club and said. Umm guys.. this stuff aint really supposed to be used !! At which point it should have all stopped and the club gone to the AFL suggesting they had an issue etc Some may suggest thats exactly what happened in the end. I would put it they only came clean once they were wind of an external body investigating them. They have all lived with their eyes cast away , deliberately. They cant plead ignorance.
