im inclined to side with this. Only caveat is the drier the track the better our chances. Seemed like a couple of wheel fell of the wagon saturday, maybe they can get them back on.

How many delistings will we have? Is it too early to speculate?

and another thread lurches off the precipice...how novel...lol -
I can only suggest that some might be seriously overvaluing Colin if they think hes worth a 2nd round pick. His worth is on what he's accomplished , not what he might do one day Currently on the AFL site ( its only one rating I know ) Buddy is rated 13 in the league Sylvia at 126 Now thats only shown to indicate they are worlds apart. Franklin is being feted by any club that thinks it could afford him , will probably set a new record for his next contract. Changes and wins game off own boot. and Sylvia is being chased by ......... ( insert sound of crickets ) dont hold your breath or get excited about any meaningful compensation here.

Id love to know Missons answer to that TM !!

Grimesy gets the trifecta

You would have to think if they ( Vlad ) are serious then it would be the pick before our 1st round. If they are half hearted the pick before our 2nd rounder. If they are clever we are granted a small mini draft setup. The tea leaves offer up nothing more Im afraid

Id pretty much just settle for the money saved and a position freed on our list for a real 'goer'
-
Im not sure where this stat would exist but in line with the 'number' Id be very interested to know how much TIME the opposition have the ball compared to us.( in the same vein, i.e uncontested ) Im not big on stats but this ought to be self evident as to its relation to how we play.

The Master, youve put into words some of my own misgivings. We thought we'd hit the jackpot snaring Misson but the results to date arent particularly earth shattering and like yourself will be interested to see how they fare in the NT Despite all the prefacing of all statements ex MFC that we were starting form a long way back I sometimes wonder just how far back and if it wasnt sometimes just given up as the 'get out of all get outs" But I suppose hes had just the two preseasons to work with. Maybe his instructions via the then coaching werent in the most effective direction. You would think that the health and fitness of the players had with it some automony so it ought to be his preserve alone. Maybe hes not the sports medicine messiah he was cracked up to be. Very good , just not miraculous .

OD The coach will pick his assistants anyway

Im not sure how Essendon could argue AOD9604 wasnt taken if this is anyone's stance.. They had printed up waivers for it I can not fathom how on earth they can reasonably plead ignorance. Two points. 1) Information was freely available to anyone who cared to ask. They chose to turn the blind eye and try a "plausible deniability" angle 2) There is NO pleading ignorant. There is no excuse of this nature accepted. Its beholding upon the taker to know ( or dont take ). Simply being naive is again no excuse. There are many areas of life where rules and laws apply and these too can trap the unwary. But thats what its about, knowing the circumstances upon which YOU enter. As I understand the law(s) the only real recourse open to the players is to sue the club for any number of transgressions, but the idea that they , the players, were misinformed and thus should escape penalties from WADA/ASADA/AFL is for mine wrong. Bit like, "sorry your honour I thought the gun was loaded with blanks, thats what like Knuckles tol' me !! " Im happy to be corrected but arent all new footballers taken aside by the league and given an induction, at which time many things are explained about responsibilities, and whose they are, i.e THEIRS . Drugs, inall forms I thought were pretty high on the agenda of this induction. Tthis is an abyss I have no doubt the League wish not to look into. But they have no choice as they too signed on to the WADA train. Does the AFL itself wish to plead ignorance and of being naive ?? Even if it did, thats not a get out of jail free scenario.

This is the sort of thing Im always interested to hear, players that can play but often go under our radar. Not every player needs be AA. Just fair dinkum 100% effort

Alf...all of this is sorta being discussed over here http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34429-list-management-2013/page-2#entry786726 cheers -
did they just wake up ??
-
problem was they had a fair bit of UNCONTESTED ball. To do with at will.

we are not a mentally strong side. Many will argue this as a furphy but more often than not , as a result of the attitudes of some of our side, the game is lost before the first bounce. Some have the right spirit, but are dragged through the mire because of the anchoring effect of the rest of the team. You see this in who chases, who applies the second efforts, who do the 1%'s . There are not a lot of members to that select group. Teams who are "up" can smell 'resignation" and feed off of it.
-
I think you might find that because of the very reasons you suggest that the results are those of jnrmac . They arent mutually exclusive. Just an observation
-
Red...lose what...if he isnt performing then you lose nothing . He is way past the "potential" player description. he ought to be there. yes still not. Quite amazing

Mate. i watched the replay. Whilst it hadnt all the camera angles it had some. His off the ball efforts are like that of someone who feels like he has to do 'something' but hasnt the real ticker for it. How does someone who is supposedly playing a 150th and for a new contract put such a half hearted game on the pitch ? He would be rated as in the top 10% at the club for marking. He is quite capable overhead and in a contest ( when bothered ) Others , not so blessed, seemed able to make some marks stick in those conditions. Where I have difficulty with much of the Sylvia argument is.. If he ISNT what hes cracked up to be , then why bother keeping him ? if he is as good as some beleive he may be one day ( this day seems elusive to the max ) then how long does a reasonable person/team wait. 10 years apparently not enough...please....honestly if he cant do the job, move him on and spend that money on an import that WILL. its really that simple
-
In case it escaped your attention ths is ACTUALLY a Sylvia thread, hence the attention given him. Im hardly the only one who didnt bother travelling the Geelong Rd yesterday. You want him gone yet you seem apologistic for his lack lustre .
-
So whats it to be Tammi ? Lol
-
youre good at providing circumstances for him(supposedly as get out of jail cards ) . Same circumstances applied to most others on our team ( indeed theirs ) weather the same. Games is the same.. Some make something of it, others dont quite reach far enough.. It up to him to BE in that position, to make those leads, to be that player. He just isnt Nasher said it well . Once you lower your expectations things become less painful. For mone its harder to do so for he always postulated come contract time in a manner that he expects us to appraise him more highly. I wont. Hes an imposter.

rubbish.. A tackle is a tackle.. Some stick, Some result in FF some FA, some balls up. Doesnt go down on stat sheet...honestly...lol
