  1. Frawleys's been playing at 75% for more than a year..
  2. Not sure if the players would take a 3/4 time spray seriously from Elmo.......
  3. I see it more as case of a classic waste of a pick...esp an early one.
  4. Helll Chip and GF just got a nice weekend away paid for by the Dockers....lol
  5. if he went to Freo would that make him Ship Frawley ...surely !!!
  6. I'd say effectively yes !!!!
  7. RM...it ISNT all after the fact....if it is then its proof irrefutable that they didnt have all the facts.
  8. Middleton has no history of pussyfooting. He had nothing to do with the Sharks result either. It s a quick (-ish ) result really
  9. You're not finally starting to believe OD ??
  10. Blease release me , let you go .......
  11. kinda simple really isnt it
  12. #@V30 = epic fail the fence sitters, the disenfranchised aren't the under 30's. they are the 40-60 yo who are faced with lifestyle choices and re-prioritise things to suit. The ad needs to speak to them
  13. Your post is possibly self contradictory . you say it is, but then it isnt. It either Is or it isnt ..its like a little bit dead or pregnant. even my viewpoint could be argues as having the same flaw and I concede that. What it all goes to I suggest is there is nothing hard and fast about this...its more than entirely subjective withing certain parameters...those being as I suggested prior...there are the A's the Bs and the rest in any draft. No one actually portends it to BE a lottery but to be like a lottery in that there are no absolutes,No guarantees, no sure things. You take your picks , you take your chances What is never really known til afterwards ( ie career played out...or not ) is where on any path these kids are. Are they sparkling early and fading are they decidedly slow developers have they already peaked
  14. NO..I hear what YOU think it is.. But surely closer examination actually suggest there are MORE exception than otherwise, suggesting it is just a lottery . Even a lottery you can predict with some ability numbers that are more likely to turn up but not necessarily the week you think. Beleive what you like C and B ..please dont proffer that as proof however
  15. touche I havent won a million yet so Im not better ( at picking lottery numbers )
  16. all I see is names and numbers... any coherent point has escaped me. I look forward to you making it.
  17. mate..is a bit like the first 5 rows of a grand prix.. there may be a second between 1st and 10th. its not much and it can be invalidated in the first 500m The draft is often mocked as just this side of a lottery for good reason. Roos reckons its worth even less. So much is seemingly placed into this somewhat subjective contrivance and history suggests youd be better off throwing darts at a board. The point is the club picked the wrong kid. It's criteria was obviously flawed. ( but hey nothing new there ) These experts proved again they are very good at getting much wrong but for reasons unknown many then use their subjective ideas as testament to why certain blokes went at this pick or that. There are without doubt kids who are better than others but its more like theres 10 A' a dozen B's and the rest. Lots of journos are getting paid for making shlt up Id suggest
  18. not really.. its often a fine cut through many in the first 10 AFL phantom draft 2012 Toumpas 4 Wines 5 The Footy Almanac 2012 Picks Toumpas 2 Wines 4 The Hun's Landdsberger/Clark phantom draft Toumpas 4 Wines 7 As Did the Aged's Emma Quayle Knightmare had Toumaps 5 Wines 8 Youre splitting hairs Nut in my book if t you really think there was much between many of these kids
  19. If they want to be blatant about what they are trying to achieve... can I suggest a different imagery Picture if you would... a number of our stellar types pounding the pavements.. all very pumped and seriously like... as they do a few more of the team join. As they run they can see the G in the distance...a beacon beckoning . Its somewhat overcast and drizzling. As they run they pass various people all sitting on a fence (or similar ) the allegory is deliberate. As the team pass the onlookers the players look upon them and encourage them to get off the fence and join them as they make their way to the G. Some do , some don't,(sheepish guilty looking types ..lol ) gradually the numbers swell and they all end up running up the race and into the G. The stadia light s blazing and then just as wondrously as it is that so many have joined in belief, have bought ( literally ) into the journey the lights switch off and the sky's brooding and formidable darkness are replaced by sun and light. What could only be seen before as muted tones of colour now emblazon the G with red and blue as everyone's previous non-descript clothing turns into some form of team supporter gear. The throngs mingle and join as one in a knowing sense of committed devotion as the warriors before them present themselves in all their buffed demeanor. All players make a stride forward but one ( Chunk ) takes an extra step an in a very 'in your face' type of presentation simply asks "How Melbourne are you in 2015?"
  20. I want to know... Is Roos going to message evryone !!!
  21. Totally agree. But in fairness id say that's very possible. That is, to work on his poorer points . He has teh raw ingredients to be a pretty handy player. We've seen what he CAN do . often with young kids all we ever hear about is what they might do one day, here we have someone who has already shown us, albeit in glimpses. He has a head start on some
  22. But was it ? Given the club OUGHT to have done its diligence and would therefor have been in a much more knowledgeable position than many of the so called media experts (of which 90% are dlckheads ). The club should have been aware ( more than it seems ) of Jimmy's hip problems etc. This should have discounted heavily his worth when using such a highly valued pick. Wines didnt present any of this concern. Most pundits had both players at around the same mark and many thought it a monty Wines would go go Melbourne as its( he ) exactly what we needed. Indeed there seems incredulous disbelief amongst some at AAMI park that Jimmy's name was even called out. What it WAS was the decision made, but was it the right one. I'd say no. Bang for buck these two kids are miles apart. The only hope the club really can harbour is that Dimitri becomes at least a decent player > I doubt anyone seriously thinks at the club he'll be the star that many here on the boards think he's destined to be. The club can indeed use ( and needs ) a fair number of good decent mids. lets hope he at least gets to this. The boat has sailed on getting the gun recruit .
  23. You had me right up til the last line Jack...how did those two words manage to concurrently exist in the one sentence !! ( otherwise I agree 100% )
  24. Another preseason and some good mentoring/coaching should refine this rough gem. I dont want him to lose his dare-do-well attitude though. The kid's got some verve. In a sea of blacmange hes a bit of Cherry Ripe !!
  25. How Melbourne are you in 2015 ? What are they actually asking ...... Are you just as fed up, just as disillusioned , just as depressed, just as unimpressed with our rise up the ladder ?? If you're all of that then you're probably pretty well a definite Melbourne supporter....so you're going to be pretty Melbourne in 2015 Id reckon. As some sort of prompting or encouragement to be a member, I'm not sure it either 1) communicates this particularly well and/or 2) inspires one to be such. The focus in the ad, the guy, already has a Demons cap, backpack and a sense of the club. Id say he was the 'already converted" type. The ad doesn't do much for me...maybe just me.
