Sorry.... Same bloke about whom fuss became ๐ฉ central because he continued in a game when he oughtn't have ?? ( there's sill some contention it was his own doing going back out ) Now plays off a sick bed ?? Who is making all these dumb decisions?? My God we're a half baked club !!

This really is the epitome of Give a man a fish !! It's NOT the player(s) per se ... its the methodologies employed using them. The first step to fixing any problem...admit and understand the problem. Simon and Co are showing us they're incapable of doing this.

How's does a Coach and FD say... we're desperate and haven't a [censored] clue as to how to fix things .... without saying it

Food for thought. Revisit how Essendon played and delivered to Joe Revisit how Lions play and delivered to Joe. Revisit how we play

Of course its the system/game/plan/coaching But 'they' can't fix that. Let's go for something different ... reminds me of a Monkey and a cork. That too involves Elephants... and that too is about a whole lotta ๐ฉ All this says to me quite frankly is... Brains Trust ( has none ) can't see the real proble for the trees . It seemingly understands , lucidly or accidentally, that it's unable to fix what needs fixing.

Time to start a rebuild?
Might it be a bit of both Bing ? I'd concur that Clarry is not at his fittest and probably feels it somewhat. At same time the style of play being brought in requires a lot more of the quicker actions etc.. the juxtaposition of both might be what's adding him ?

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Or both ??

Doesn't address the Elephants aka 'delivery system '

Time to start a rebuild?
Upset might have been a bit strong... some were well, somewhat dismayed. I think we've been far too quick to knee-[censored] on many occasions. Been very inconsistent at it too. We have to wear it now. Edit... seriously.. that was censored ?? ๐

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Sadly i have to agree. So much of our movement is actually to someone stationary . They may be an intended pass-off player but quite often becomes either a turnover or a dead end... game halts... opposition fall back and clog options ; not that we ever seem overly keen nor adept at such anyway. There's now a hurry to move the ball but I'm damned often if I can perceive intelligence in what's happening. I think the savvy opposition coaching feasts upon this. Just pressure us and we'll cough it up at some point or just as bad bomb it. Maybe Salem just settles in his mind to do what he can. We certainly lack link men of skill.

Sorry to tell you Praha but that window's been shut a while now.

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
This is where I suppose an element of spectator assessments comes into play. It's everything in context. To me much of footy falls into the "no man is an island" focus. By this It's often more meaningful to appraise any act if taken as part of a group of actions and ultimately the result/no-result of that passage. Salem's talent, imho, used to be that he could make a pretty good fist of seeing what was, or could, unfold upfield dependent upon his disposal. He often found a player or a space that put the ball to advantage and the opposition caught out of position or off guard. That subsequent disposal was often a scoring assist or a mark/free with shot on goal. He was very good at that. I don't see this hardly any more. Salem's kicks ( invariably a kick, and not often a turnover as he can kick... one of the few ) now are more often to a VERY safe option. But that option seldom has much momentum potential. Salem often start passages that were quick and fluid. Now the conundrum, is it this manner of play now that is of Christian's own doing or is it an absolute dearth of talent available to utilise his passes ? I really don't When watching I used to get excited/intrigued when Salem had ball on half back going forward as I'd be thinking... something will happen here. Now...I just wait for the 'safe' pass and stall in play. Maybe just me.

I'm kinda thinking King has become content listening to his own voice these days.. quite a large club of such minded

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Does it ? Seriously.. Doesn't necessarily translate if the next movement is ineffectual. Just another stat really. We seem to win a lot of these 'stats' yet somehow lose the games. Salem isnโt damaging anymore. Just isn't. Be great if he got back that element of his game.
