  1. Well... being a Jag we better make sure the electrics are schmick and the transmission humming in syncro ;) .. if we're looking to get things purrfect !!
  2. Simon says: It's all FUGAZI I am certain this has all been discussed front to back, left to right , by Goody, Choco et al with Brodie. My take... it's not his focus. He made very poignant and particular comments prior to the season. He was all in on what he could learn and in return contribute to the Dees. Themedia would like to think they're running the narrative...theyre just running their mouths. The club and Brodie , I'm sure, are ver focused on roles, and team. Brodie is a team player. I have a feeling Grundy will be making all his statements via his play.
  3. ..and then we didn't.. It's ok...youre back in the real world now ;)
  4. Agree with this. The media...purple types especially... will make much of Geelost's gusto...rah rah etc..but i can't see them getting far. 5 to 8 a raffle of irrelevances imho.
  5. I agree that 4th is preferable. Play the filth at our G...straight into the Prelim. Far-fetched ??? I think the resulting eos ladder may not trulyy refelect all teams' true form. I'm happy enough if we prise a bevy of wins closing out the season at around 3/4 goals per and in so building momentum...refining some tempo and rhythm. No I'm not talking about reinventing Big Audio Dynamite.. am talking about finding a groove. Getting our forward gane more used to angular incursions.....more harmony among the forwards in positioning and not crashing each other.... finding a steady kicking mojo. I.e...to get ourselves set...before ramping up. We've a good set of games to do this with, each one with challenges...each one with opportunity to gel even better. No game is a gimme...but each winnable. We need to better resolve our game/style as players come back to the mix. We need it more about the "game" than the personnel...imo.
  6. We're talking about Bucks... I rate him very highly as a player... A coach not so much. Be seated ppl...fair warning. I rate Goidwin easily over Buckley. Buckley accomplished sfa at Pieland. Maybe he doesn't know as much as he spouts. Both Goodwin and especially Choco eclipse him for success. Maybe they have an idea or 5 . Im going to back our FD over that failed bit of filth. Think i need a lay down...
  7. We're talking about the same mob that played Sat ?? They play better at home....and they managed a whole 2 snags after the big break. Ill be very surprised if they get close ...
  8. Yep...its a different ball game.
  9. Hes 4 to 5 years of footy .. thats a pretty dogmatic conclusion. I'd be disappointed to see a trade. Dont ( imho ) see it as necessary. But we can seevat seasons end.
  10. Too many people buying into others metrics.
  11. Certainly not a 5 min job to perfect. And the whole 'package' of how a good forward works is not a quick read.....but it's not War and Peace , nor Britannica ( apols to younger gens...lol ).. There's a distinct logic about where to be... you dont learn it rote...you either do or don't get it as much is the application of instictive understanding of opportunistic instances.. Yes a very convoluted way of saying.. position, space and timing. Some will never get it no matter how much teaching and training.... others...it's inherent... most....somewhere in between. Footy (sport ) is funny in a fashion....some who struggle with common tasks can play a ball like on a string. Theres such a thing as Footy Smarts ( nouse etc ) . Some can read the flight... some know where to be or how to get there...and have never been 'taught' I have no doubt Grundy gets it. His focus will now change. I'm happy to back him in. He's a skilled talented and very smart player.
  12. Remind me how many Premierships he managed ?? Point being....what was he trying to coach ( re Grundy ) In the end...it's one opinion...
  13. Dunno... all a bit of a raffle...
  14. 🤔🤔Shame.... such a shame..🤣🤣🤣
  15. It is the most ridiculous presumption isn't it.. No such thing as swing players.. mids playing tall or small or both.. the whole notion of resting forward ..... high forwards all but playing as a winger.. you can go on and on where player A has added another arrow to his quiver, string to his bow etc. Tbh.. i think it's insulting, to say nothing of utter stupidity to suggest Brodie is limited in ability. ...in scope. He may or may not develop into a "star forward" ..but im sure he's fully capable of filling a role there and being far more that a back up ruck. Im looking forward to seeing what he can bring.
  16. This is the way we stir the pot....stir the pot.. This is the way we stir the pot.....on a Sunday arvo........ What an absolute [censored]
  17. H e didn't quite have Tulip's poise but certainly the dare, flair and endeavour. Thought it a brilliant passage.
  18. Yep... playing the role Tmac does/did
  19. No... not in 3 weeks... no... but he'll get better. He strikes me as someone with great aptitude and motivation to indeed learn what he can. He's still a backup for Max..... current and going forward. The Gawndy plan A hasn't manifestly succeeded in its current guise, perhaps the revised plan B will. Rucking and Forward craft are both about position and space....and timing. I think he'll come on quicker than many suspect.
  20. Mr Leg... its Bwian !!! He was probably just confused !!!
  21. Ive noted often if we are pressing up that Salem drifts forward into a link spot... Dont mind that but very mindful he ( Salem ) does his best work further back being the go to guy to bring it our of half back rebounding.( Jmo ) Id like to see more of what River's displayed...in breaking lines. Big future this lad. Im not thinking theyll tinker much with the current setup this week save bringing in Tomo ( hopefully ) .. a bit harsh on Smith in a fashion as he's done ok recently... but the backline with Tomo is better.
  22. Ya couldn't amble over to Gosch's/Casey and give Staff a hand ?? I fear he knows Jack about forward footy ;) cheers
  23. I may be reading it wrong but i got the impression whilst doing his 'apprenticeship' he'll play solely as a forward... When back on deck he play predominantly as a forward...but not solely.
  24. I wish him all the luck going. Seems like a decent bloke with genuine intent.
  25. Go Dees Bub out. Cya in 48 ;) Play nice all
