I think some may have to take a breather. Not EVERYONE in Casey is whoop whoop behind us. Some question ( and I can see the argument ) of them, the residents , spending money for this broke , half out the door team. Others with a more glass is half full thinking see this as a great opportunity for synergy and a shared future. Lets take small steps. Lets get them right. Lets prove to all we are actually in this for the long haul. Then we can see if any closer relationship and naming is warranted. The last thing we can afford to do is go in like a swaggering drunken zealot ..wnting to spread the luuurve of all things Demon!!! One step at a time.. after all we are past masters at tripping ourselves up!!!

I-A-N.. I must confess Im having a degree of dificulty absorbing the impact that any such listing will have upon our continued existence as opposed to continued 'recognition'. Its marvellous that recognition and enshrinemnt may come...but such things can be observed both in the present..and 'past" tences !! I just dont see how any of this actually effects "in a real way" our being..going forward. ...must be me ..lol

Tremendous to see the back has come good ( touchy things backs.. hope this doesnt haunt him ) . By all accounts he seems a real goer. Have to make a point of seeing a couple more Zebs games . Seems like stuff all really to sort out ...other than the money. It'll come. Seems like ol' MacNamee certainly's getting some exercise with all his legwork Melbourne only needs a good surface...doesnt have to be the #1 oval per se.. They are upgrading the ovals at casey anyways according to their own master plan. Interesting to see the council approved the proposed changes despite some las tminute lobbying to scuttle teh developments at Casey Fields in lieu of a 1% rate reduction, like anyone would notice !!

Unless they are paying bills..how can "listing" provide for anything another than acknowledgement in perpetuity ??. It's like buying acreage on the moon...sounds good but theres no substance

So what industries benefit their market ( bottom line ) by exposure here. Who's about to launch products or services here ? Software companies might...more money is made in the commercial arena ..even by Microsift.. etc Airlines.. possibly a new player in teh growing India/OZ route ...anyone heard any whispers ?? Breweries ..word has it Fosters is in the the poo..Energy and enviro engineering...hmm..be be the dark horse with a white knight..lol ) and maybe a Consumer Brand cant think of anything esle that would prove relevant..except maybe a cheap Indain Auto company wanting to break into the market. Ok..another bite at this.. as I still dont see what in the end it does. How does any sort of "listing" provide for the clubs viablilty ?? existance is a commercial eqaution not a historical one. Either the club exists or it doesnt. Its history always will whether or not a club still continues in a competition. You can preserve Pharlap all you like and make him a National Icon and worth preserving..but I cant see him racing any day soon !!

If he, said benfactor wants to contribute it would seem the likely avenue would be commercially through sponsorship. So it begs for me the question , what company and hence what individual 's product could best benefit by Aussie expsoure?? Granted India is the new China.. If soemone walked up and said ..hey..heres 5 mil for 4 years or 4 mil for 5 years..or whatever then some ( if only a little ) credibility sneaks in. It would certainly put us on an even keel. Exactly correct Rogue.. its not as if someone is building something for our exclusive use down there ( Casey ) . The gym wont be locked in winter..lol. Its there as a shared resource. This is part and parcel of the actual argument for Casey Council participation. That EVERYONE will benefit. The Council is trying to grow inregion., to provide infrastruture and amenities that will embellish the region. This is one..albietly a nice shiny one to hang their hat on but none the less its not all about us.

Ok.. This is my thinking as to why its [censored]. According to some pundits we have this "entity" that is the MFC. It sis to be enshrined in plastic and listed, protecting it from all things nasty and to live forever in perpetuity. Hypothetically...we go south ( no no ..not Launceston ..lol ) ..we do the gurgler trip.. So what remains. Theres no actual team, no infrastructure..nothing but recorded history and an "entity" with no body called the MFC..It makes no sense. No one can merge, use or touch it without preserving its identity . It has no real value. It would be like preserving the facade of a building...but at least thats physical. There is no practical use for an "entity" Unless someone else creates a substance upon which to rest it as a name. I think the people at Heritage Australia are being terribly kind here.. really they should be telling some folk to lay off the bournbons so early in the morning.. there is NO logic to it. Everything that is the History of the Club ,is wand wil be preserved...thats our Heritage...and the medium for its acknowledgement is the recording of it.
