Brock McLean omitted from Blues side this week!

Pretty close...is of that aromatic family !!! -
Hadley is a Neanderthal...actually thats unfair to Neandethals !! A typical view held by a commentary throwback lassooed to a competition that never really had the legs it thought. Now the Roos are looking... then there will be others. Any league player with a view to a 'better' job just might start canvasing via his manager.Folau and Hunt are the tip of an iceberg...an iceberg thats melting btw. With teams looking at all sorts of avenues for new talent this game of ours is about to undergo some changes wanted and unwanted. Will be quite interesting to see what sort of folk end up at various afl clubs post season for pre draft training !!

Carlton......can you smell it ??? -
What was is past. We are now about the future and am sure a few D players will gently remind him about that

Credit where credit is due, the Afl are at the coal face and winning the media pr battle already. They are getting League off the front AND. back pages of papers in Leagues backyard. Already in the minds of some young kids AFL is a legitimate path where last week it wasn't. Make no mistake NRL will soon go code red and be pannicking. Lol Sheedy must be loving it !!!! Voss etc are missing the point... The world and it's playing fields have just changed..... Big time.

THe ONLY thing keeping RL above water curretnly is the NEWS interest and the fact that still so much of Telly is Sydneycentric. That and NSW in general have this myopic view about the world. even these two outfits wont be able to ignore the simple reality of things in the coming years as slowly but surely AFL makes inroads into all areas even those considered League strongholds. Eventually the sheer weight of numbers will pull the emphasis from one to the other. I really had/have my misgivings about the AFL spending so much on GWS. I think ( still) its going to cost them a lot more than even they think to do 'the job' but putting my own thoughts aside for the present and looking at the prospect , should it follow the AFL's time-line , thenLeague is ...well and truly up against the ropes. Once as mentioned it was the Leagues Clubs thatwere the big force in pokies etc in NSW but now that effective monopoly has ben eroded the revenues and interest in these places has diminished considerably. With GC and GWS I suppose the AFL has the real chance to sway allegiacies away whilst still maintaining the 'rage' between these locales. Ironically as it hadnt really occurred to me before as such but the AFL with GWS is somewhat mimmicking the MFC at Casey. i.e starting from the ground up build a rapore with a locality ( region ) and building generationally. Make no mistake there are a few clubs in the NRL thatare realy strugling financially but unlike the AFL the NRL doesnt have either the resources or will to back them forever. One by one they will fold or merge again. I note that there has been quite a bit of disinteret in some clubs over the years since major mergers and relocations have happened, each time diluting the passion. The AFL to its credit ( and often sheer luck ) has come out of this far better. At some point ol' Rupert is going to tire of handing out money hand over fist for smaller and smaller returns to speak nothig of the hassle his darling game is experiencing. There is a change a coming to our northern brethren....and its a lot more powerful than they think still. once the AFl breaks its ( NRL ) back..its all over, bar the shouting and any player worth anythig will have ben attracted to Union, further diminishing the ranks. The times, they are a changin'

interesting A History of Code-switchers Folau...Hunt ..yeah...who's to say they might not make a decent player or two !!!!

wrong ?? you think ? The NRL has already been dead once. Its actually kept alive by artificial respiration ina ll reality...called Mudoch. It wouldnt exist in ints own right as does AFl or eaven Soccer if not for this artifical environment. Attendences are ridiculous for a supposed tier 1 sport. Memberships of the League teams are miniscule and dont contribute in any meaningful way tothe respected clubs bottom lines. The demise of the NRL will not be quite overnight but within 5-10 years if its cant substantiate enough revenue input from interested parties ( i.e ) sponsorships then it will fall below its critical inertia point and fail to have any raison detre to exist commercially.. Keep in mind we arent talkig a real national comp here. Its a paraochial arrangement between mainly NSW interests with just enough QLD~ to warrant a ricalry , this with a token dalliance towards NZ and a curious ( of late ) infiltration to Vic. The latter they are obviously happy to kill of at it imposes a threat again to the narrow mindedness of the NSW base. As pointed out by others Union is more a truly National efort and gaiining acceptances. It wont lok to compete eyey to eye with AFL but co exist. NRL stil thinks its [censored] of the walk when its a sqwarny chook in reality. The more and more "idols" cross over teh more it weakens the resolve of supposed die hards to not consider AFL the premier code. Kids are kids and if they see that its alright for these guys to switch allegiances then they will to, or give it a good look. It might take a good few years yet but each move by the AFL to scuttle its adversary will indeed weaken its ( NRL ) ability to combat. There might be indeed 'pockets' of real resolve yet in NSW and some parts of QLD~ to suggest a resistance but all in all there will be no stampede of defiance to sign up an army to deny the AFL its eventual win. Once a critical mass to exist is lost to the NRL it will fall over rapidly. Once NEWS considers its investment of money beter psent elsewhere the NRL will indeed die. Some form of League may continue after but not as we know it Jim !!

Another nail in the coffin for the NRL .. Now relegated last !! This is a war and this is a defection of the highest order. NRL now on borrowed time!

How unlike you to not actually address the original notion...how glib. its not unusual for AFL clubs to expect injured and otherwise to still attend games as part of the "team" effort etc. So whilst despite ol Artic park not quite being the steppes I dont allude to Russian tendencies. It does seem to me strange that he allowed to galavant to to wherever. Good form Rhino...for you

stay or go ...matters not in the grand scheme of things. One player does not a team make !! Theres still talent to debut and build on. Nice if he stays....such is life if he goes !! Funny though that MFC happy to let him just wander around per se

Jonesy's upside is his tenacity . He will give ( on most occasions ) 110% [ a bit like Miller] His downside is his less than perfect decision making. He can hold on to it a bit too long and get nabed, but then he wouldnt be alone there. His disposal is not of the highest calibre either. He is for mine one of the likely to be overtaken by younger and beter skilled players as they gain experience. Jonesy will need to be beter than them to maintian his current position. In that vein he will need to better his skills and disposals, thats the reality of where he is at. Its not about effort....but effect.

I think a lot of people are getting a long way in front of where we really are and the expectations of the club for this year. Suddenly with a few earlier than thought wins we ARE finals contenders..... get a grip please. This year is about getting games into legs. Its about bonding, its about getting 'some" wins and learning how to get more. It is NOT about playing finals this year. We are to be real contenders in a year or two's time. So how exactly do the next two games DEFINE this season ? Are we off the rails or failures if we dont ? hardly !!! The next two games are simply the next two games ...and the next two etc etc. Yes it would be lovely to beat either of or both of Carlton and Collingwood but if that doesnt happen theres no need to start the morbid death chants !!!

Hmmm..its a bit betwixt and between isnt it.There are definitley good outcomes from the NT tie up re PR, reaching to the Northerners etc. But I cant help but side with Rogues view for the most part. The season proper is about winning games. There is also the matter of fitness management etc. Im just wondering what the real toll is onthe guys for this game. As others suggest its much about timing and possibly better suited to NAB etc. but since thtas about to change options dry up. Theres a lot of emotional value about this( these) games but scrutinies from a cold hard reality have we really gone there firstly for the money then set about justifying it with all the wrappings ?? Would we have even gone there at all had we been more financial ? I think this needs some more consideration going forward

Just to play devils advocate here. Seems shes gone to some lengths to play footsie footsie with these guys..( and another by all acounts) .. lets not suggest shes little miss innocent here. Strikes me as some sort of Footy Fun Fanatic. She' supposedly displayed herself as 'of age" on facebook etc. Looks to me shes rolled the dice..and come up craps. who's the instigator here ?? We dont know the age of the players. It could all be quite legal....if stupid !! oh..and for the record.. I have 14 and 16 yo daughters...take them out of their school uniforms and into dress up civvies and its bloody scarey !!! Youd think in this day and age players would be all but young-girl shy..but boys will be boys...and strangely enough...girls wil lbe women
