seem to be changing your stance a little TU. No game plan can be so rigid it cant adjust to the game day as it unfolds. So are you seriously telling me youd persevere with a game plane /style , knowing full well you are incapable of actually executing it with the talent/development status as it is simply for its own sake in order that one day maybe they might get it or grow into it ?? A lot of unnecesary pain for irrelevent gain if so
-
I wouldnt mind a Laidley-Viney combo in the same manner as Thompson-Hird
-
Goes without saying Facilities ..yes.. Talent...by all acounts , quite a bit . Personnel ?? Maybe not entirely the case. Board is good.. admin good. FD hasnt really put that question to rest. We all do...and teh Media will be waiting with baited breath for any more slip ups!! Sydney says hello !! Dont care what he does behind a facade, a fence or closed doors...only interested in what he achieves come game day... not good so far. If anything we're ( he's ) going backwards Youd expect wholesale changes The damning thing is he hasnt been able to instill any consitency in to the team. Its fits and spurts. Like a runaway bull crashing into things without a clear path discernable Sometimes the way to ongoing recovery is decisive and invasive surgery to remove the cancer. Sometimes beter to begin the healing and therefore recovery sooner rather than later

in the bin where it belongs !!

The really sad thing ( for us ) is that despite the obvious difference in the sides ,GC are still having a crack, still playing with what they have at their disposal, still putting bodies on the line...... unlike some other club I could mention
-
Actually , to me it does. GC in the first qtr have fresh legs and all the game before them.. They jumped us. They have been pummeled by Essendon. We got our big scores agaisnt GC when they were knackered ( youngens ) We were junk time kings...Essendon have shown their ability when it really matters. A big difference to me..
-
imnot sure how Primus is a choice nor that wed want him..No runs on board...The Newby experiment has failed.
-
very much my thinking. It took a whole game and many many goals in junk time to amount that lead for us. Cant help but be impressed by the Bummers today
-
Shows up the disparency between Essendon and us nicely I'd have thought. New game record looming and happy to lose it
-
The lamentable truth is despite having erased our debt it might be cutting off our noses to simply sack Bailey now,no matter how tempting it might be. Id like to see someone shotgun for him though. If that proves intolerable for Dean then so be it. We ( the club ) call the shots not he. To pay him out is maybe just beyond us currently but maybe we can shuffle a few deckchairs ? Id certainly be interviewing the Mouse.. and id be enquiring as to Laidley's avail for 2012. Enough of the newby coaches for now...lets get someone with some pedigree and proven ability
-
how bout we bury it...!! Well keep this forum for discussing Melbourne players...not Hawthorn !!!
-
Sadly...all to lost on many...and especially some amongst our FD and Board We are a Football club first and not some Sporting Benevolent Society..and thats exactly what I wrote the club. Its nice to bring nice young men on and give them happy futures and balanced outlooks... but lets triy winning a premiership firsit huh MFC...thats why I pay up each year.

the selction of Green as Captain has only been to the detriment of his own game and to the team for not finding a true on-filed leader. Yes he's struggling and I see nothing is his demeanor currently to suggest it will change. . Neeta would have been far more sombre and circumspect and truly embarassed for the club.Junior would have a different take as well im sure.. True leadership starts with actions...not words
-
I think Jimma is being oh SO nice and polite here. What needs to be added is " If you cant do it we'll get someone who can...no disrepect of course !! "
-
Ill expalin it simply shall I. You cant build a brick wall without bricks. You might have some but if not enough then the design must change to accomodate the materials to hand. We simply dont have the cattle ( or cattle far enough along any 'development' ) tocary out the Bailey game. He wil always find his team out manouvred and shot down. Only when against even more inferior combinations will any semblance of hope for his style exist. You need to play a game with what you have. You need to work within your means whilst expanding your means. Once your cattle are bettle developed then you can also alter your methods. At present hes putting the cart before the horse....or in our case....ponies !!!
-
Not particulalrly the best or thoroughly thought out selctions there. You cant have Micky Mouse yet for starters., so the logic of some otherwise interesting scenarios is prohibited. Quite frankly Ive had enough of the current coaching failure.. If I hear the word (s) developmental phase once more I may be reduced to harming someone.A club is always developing, it should never rest on its laurels ( not thatwe have any ) however we need to focus on actually playing the game and with some direction and purpose. This clearly isnt happening or has failed miserably. In thatvein I prefer a new coach for nextyear. With him wil come a number of new assisatants. Id like Viney to now come into the mix as an assistant..He DOES know how to play the game. So I do want Bailey replaced but despite the temptationto knee-jerk id aloow him to play out the season. But hes a dead duck walking for mine
-
wives are never wrong...ask them !! lol
-
sort of missing the point... if you aint got the ingredients you change the recipe. No point having a game plan without the people to implement it.
-
Surely..you structure according to what you DO have...not what you DONT.... That would be BASICS 101

DEES' DISMAL RECORD ■Only three inside-50s in the opening quarter against West Coast - the equal second-lowest tally recorded by any team in that term since 1999. The differential of 18 was the fifth-biggest ever record in any quarter. ■Out-tackled in all but one of their five games this season, averaging seven fewer per match compared to their opposition. ■Have won the clearance count in both their wins this season, however have recorded fewer clearances in both their losses and the draw. ■Ranked last for tackles inside the forward 50 between rounds 1-5 - averaging 11 per game, compared to Sydney which ranks No. 1 (Ave. 24). ■Conceded an average of 12 marks per match inside its defensive 50 between rounds one to five - the equal fourth most of any side. I could be quite surly and describe it otherwise. Now ...who's job is it to instill a method and culture of play into a team ? Ans= The Coaches Whos in charge of the Coaches ? Ans = Dean Bailey Who's @rse is on the line ? Ans= Dean Bailey The Buck stops somewhere and for mine it stops fairly and squarely with the person whos job it is to define the team, the way it plays and the furtiveness by which it does so. So if we're talking Basics.... Id say he ( DB ) is basically @#$*ing it up !!!
-
Firstly TU..this is not a sling at you ...Its just those words are exactly the matter that needs addressing. Bailey , in his directing of scorn at his charges is missing the point. The point is him. Those lads ought to be out there training there guts off every week. Its no good 'punishing' them as such, thats ridiculous. They arent 5 yo's ( just play like it ) . They need coaching. And Dean..this is where YOU are failing. Essendon is the example of the moment. Take X number of players.. Coiach them poorly, have no plan ( that works ) ..fail in teh structure dept and you have a recipe for failure. Take essentially same X players and apply a different tact , this being a composite of key personnel as well as an idea of how to use what you have, give them the right conditions and instructions and suddenly youre playing football. ANd playig it with meaning and passion. So Dean..its not them...its you !!
-
damning isnt it...says it all really Bailey the Master ( at failing ) at catch up footy
-
I think our logo ought to be Mr Whippy....after all hes all about Soft Serve !!!

Tonight is the turning point for the MFC.

A very good summation.....unfortunately -
quite frankly ...and i hate to say it, but Brads year so far is nothing to write about. Unfortunately he's not the captian we'd hoped for; he seems to go somewhere and be very quiet in games just at the moments youd exxpect a capt to lift. I like Brad as a player ..last year was marveloous...this year lamentable...still, he's not alone
