This has been gone over ad infinitum....he doesnt had to have lied to date . Doesn tmean his intention is to stay with Melbourne. We wont know ..til we know. I dont hink Stynes particularly likes this game of cat and mouse though.

ya snuck that in under the radar !!
-
Me thinks they ( or someone ) protests too much

I would have thought in order to get any form of strain injury ( and what could it be if not all the others described) then first some form of effort is required!! I don't think he got close enough to anyone to get knocked.. Lol
-
Unless you know the nature of his contract there's nothing really to suggest he'd be penalized in that manner. I'd doubt it. Might all be moot upon doctors advice ( all sounds terribly dodgy to me) What I will cede would be that if avail for seniors and played this week in manner I suggest and he DIDNT apply himself 110% to the task , then , THEN , I'd drop him for about 2-3 weeks. I wouldn't expect him to necessarily excel etc but want himto have red hot go. If he couldn't musterthe enthusiasm nor understand the opportunity then hesimply doesn't deserve to be in the ones and he'd be staring at being offloaded come seasons end.

less than aromatic isnt it ?? That friday business is just rubbish... Memo to club.......dont d!ck us around

Billy.. your making a huge mistake if you think Im accepting of such an insipid pathetic perormance such as displayed last week , and that only the aggregation of many others. Please dont for a minute think so. Im simply suggesting theres more than one way to skin this cat. There, or here, we differ. Yes he is a role model. So let him model a hrd and gruelling game. Let him accomplish that. Let him show others and in so do accomplish two things. First , his own learning and esteem. From this may come beeter games. Secondly. Let others watch and understand that even the likes of Davey can run foul of the FD and will be called to task and set new goals. Let him show his peers in real time, not via a hear say arangemettn off in the boonies. Is there any part of this circle we've left off ?? lol We dont differ in outr dissappointment....just our reaction.. cheers

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
beelzebub replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would love to see him on the track in red and blue next year, and on the paddock the next -
Drop him and he really learns nothing.. He may serve a punishment of sorts..but what does he learn ?. We obviously differ greatly on this one point. Fair enough. At th emoment he only knows what he knows. Dropping to the magoos he stil lonly plays with what he knows. He needs to learn. From learning comes improvement and broadening of understanding. He can do this by watching...at very close quarters , how someone who does all the right things, goes about it. He may learn. I dont want to p!ss him off..I want him to DO. The most elementary aspect of our games, as a team, is we dont DO enough. Seething liek some petualnt kid on the sidelines is..well childlike. When you get chucked off a horse you get back on the horse... not a pony. Billy..we simply disagree. Im happy to.

See , not so hard Cant possibly see how.. Dont confuse the idea that hes still playing seniors with getting off scott free. Hes being asked to shoulder a heavier burden, to do more, to PROVE more. Hardly acceptance or condoning of poor performing. still dont get it huh.. Imnoty sayi gtta..you are. Im saying.. If you dont do what is asked of you, well ask twice..So which becomes the easier in the end. Do your job..do it well. Obviously some still think half hearted is still fine.. Its not. So youre suggesting.. wait until we're really behind 'then ' start himinthe guts... lets himsit out half a game...wghilst others do his work. Im simply suggesting he start at the start..and pay back his teammates for all the half efforts to date

Billy I understand your theory fine. . I simply disagree with it. There is a vastly different tempo at that level. Degrees of effort arre different and I totaly refute your notion that simply suggesting that by my inferring he's hiding indicates any lack of knowledge. Football is no diffferent to a lot of things in life. Its that many make out that it is often gives easy "get out " clauses for unacceptable behaviour, whether it be worth ethic or social repsonsibilities.. Its easy to be king of the kids.. less so an adversary amongst men. The notion that when teh Going gets tough, the tough get going refers to the idea that when its starts getting hard...you actually have to up the ante and apply one slef to more ardous tasks with even greater application. The magoos is downhill skiing by comparison. If in training you muff it.. you'll be tasked with extra laps. extra pushups, extra this and that...you dont go and get to swan around in the sand pit. We simply differ, your entitled to

it would be a dodddle for him at Casey.. He is all said and done a level above VFL..itd be a cake walk for him and that would suit just fine...hes just f@#$%ng lazy sh!t !! What does that achieve ?? really. Its a Get out of Jail free card. He has a Happy little run, feels all smug about himself. Gets to do it out of real eyesight of most of Melbournes spectators. Too easy. Sometimes you do have to put someone in unfamilar territory in order for them to actually reinvent their thought patterns. Get them out of their comfort zone, for sure thats where he is, playing comfortable footy. He still picks up his massive paycheck. Big Whoop'd de do . You know the old one "if you continue to repeat what doesnt work you're doomed to failure". In stead of changing down a gear.. change up and work harder. But hey..tis all moot apparaently We have to change his habits...and get him working again.
-
Oh how bloody predictable...ffs And the man at the back said everyone attack and it turned into a Football Fizz !!!

What better place to punish someone than right in front of those you wish to conve ya message to ? Show them what will happen shoudl you not put in 100%..i.e you; be asked to put in 150%!! They can all watch as Davey is flogged in front of them...not nicely out of sight. Conversely, Davey might actually rise to the occasion and further inspire his team mates. Am happy enough should I be one out here. Its my view.

Rusty..I read your post ,actualy with some interest as it does address the situaton. There is however no gaurantee in any of this. Thats possibilbly something many seek. Granted , that sdesirable. I dont necessarily expect anyone to say "win" on Judd or such. Thats not really the litmus. Its how they go about that role. The attitude etc., the efforts...and second efforts etc. . Im not even going to suggest theres a right or wronmg way, just different wayys and the one Ive outlined is my particular preference. On your call re Bailey, Laidley and culture, you may very well be absolutely right, the ship may have sailed.

Ironically ...... Peter German !!
-
ooh ..hangon...reasoned discussion !! why not indeed.

Judd will need effectively double manning. Assign one to wear him per se.. and Davey to shadown him. The two can mix and match it and work it between themselves. But he can work to nullify his effectiveness. The way Davey is playing currently his riole can be easily covered . Give him a simple task..well simple as in not wideranging. Davey observing Judd first hand wil linstruct him in the nature of workrate, ethos, gnd etc. All things he lacks currently Were not going to beat Carltonthis weekend, but its an opportunity for some to learn lessons.
-
Surely youd run him in the magoos . Blow some cobwebs, get some matchfitness. As seductive an idea as Scully playing in Red and Blue is logic suggests easing him back to the fray.
-
Youye RPFC's love child arent you You both happily overlook the notuion that he doesnt need to sign after the season in order to get al lhis goodies. Would you actually like to argue the facts?? beyond you ?? seems so. I have said its perfectly reasonable for him to negotiate his best outcome. How does waitiing til seasons end necessary acomploish that ? He can do it in other ways. Care to argue that point ?? no probably not.. doesnt suit your rhetoric does it. You just blow the same hot air. Simple questions for you ...canyou handle these.? Can he not achieve a desirable outcome by signing now ( with favourable clauses ) ? If he can, why doesnt he ? If you think he cant, explain why . reckon you can manage those ?
-
Do you too not read..or comprehend ? Where have I said not punish him ? Letting him prance around the magoos is not punishing him. Thats light duty. Out of the greater public's scornful glare. Give him hard duty agianst Carlton.. make him pck up Judds coat -tails..run the bloke ragged. Then he;ll be glad to go back to his normal role. Tell him nothing short of 100% is adequate or acceptable., tell him we want to see him put on some decent tackles., we want him to wear him. Make his life hell. Funny thingis..he used to do just that reallyt. He WAS everywhere, hed run peopel down , hed run around them like a Bluey. he'd worry others sick. Let him find just a modicum of this back and he'll have served his punishment. Let him get easy and casual stats at Casey, what does that really achieve ?

want to expand..or remain inane.. you'll have company.
-
I think it goes to the very idea of.."emergency" i.e when all else fails. we have very limited ruck stocks of note to pick from atm. Provided we have a better oprion then Gawn will remain emergency only. If we do need a ruck..and not a back up -sub type he will get a guernsey. Until then..He will wait. At AFL level he has very few arrows to his quiver. Patience is required all around with this lad. He'll get there., if warranted.

^ This He wont be over awed. Might just jump out of the box flying .

Are you really so supersillious or just prattling for the sake of seeing your words in print. There are TWO issue here..count them ..one...two.. have I lost you yet. They are NOT connected...but you want them to be in order to push your barrow. Many others here on this forum are quite capable of seeing through this ploy. Youre wastiing your breath and fingers pursuing this line of rhetoric. Shove your PA comments right where they fit.. You love to usurp others standpoint with such vague demonstations of inferred superiority.. Heres a wake up.. Youre not fooiling me..nor many others Think of it this way.. I might like Fords... but not like a particualr Dealer. Would that stop me driving a Foird ? No.. would I want to deal with the outlet that annoys me..NO. Do I have a problem with Scully playing for Melbbourne ? No Do I have a problemn with him askiing for a lot of money for he thinks he's worht it ? No Do I condone the stance taken by his management and therefore him ? No oops that's 3 things.. probably way over you by now Again your want is to lump in all into one pot as your argument can only hold water ( in a fashion ) that way. The structure of the situation is significantly different. Others understand this... maybe one day you wil to.
