  1. A lot to do with his desire to go to Sydney is the Irish support structure. Taigh has endorsed a move to the Swans for him. Hes ( TW) is listenign to someone whos done the journey ,...and successfully, twice even. StKilda to be honest will have struggled to pour a Guiness let alone understand this kid. Sydney are wise in these matters. We on the other hand have in our midst the bloke who wrote the book on all this...well both of them.. JS and RDB This is very much about getting into his mindset...if this is who we want to go after. StKilda , even with a new coach are going to have to make some sacrifices.
  2. I can heartily recommend a banana daiquiri !!!
  3. Has any team EVER rebuilt a coaching group and fd to the extent we just did..? Possibly safe to say that Collingwood have lost more talent in their coaches than we lost in our
  4. No probs..good luck with that.. Just let HER plan it all...you cant be wrong then !! All us married ones will understand ..lol
  5. Sydney derby to open season Dont quite understand what yo mean by a week earlier. The season opens when the season opens .
  6. Its alright...we got the really good one
  7. Good luck to the ol Sainter's , they sorely need some. Amazing to realise the recent legacy Micky Mouse has provided. Nth's Brad Scott, Gold Coast's Guy McKenna, our Mark Neeld and Malthouse's own successor at Collingwood, Nathan Buckley !!
  8. Im sorry Red.. but though I agree with yo that barty's attack on the ball and corraling of opponents is terif, his disposal is an utter liability that is for me a deal breaker for anAFL player. You walk across that line and I damn well expect you to be able to kick a footy..Its FOOTball ffs. To compare Todd and Barty is really just this side of ..well.. incredulous. You suggest theyre simialr then describe how theyre not. And for good reason theryre not. Todd was a Demonic and fearsome leader who would send shivers down the spine of any opponent in his sights. I just cant quite see that happening with Barty. His opponent will respec thim...not fear him. The reality of Barty is hes played 5 seasons without the slightest glimpse really his disposal will better. His skillset in this matter is set in concrete and whilst this sort of player is with us we will never claim a flag. Harsh maybe.. realistic though. Toovey actually shows how a player develops...this is the contrat with Barty, some learn., some dont. Some have premiership medallions, some wont.
  9. In all honesty you dont want Barty doing anything much with the ball once he has it. And that sort of defeats the purpose of bein gout there. Toovey has developed nouse with disposal..
  10. Too easy in hindsight , though you were questioning at the time. I thought he had promisse. many others did aswell. Hes one of those that doesnt make it., and we move on
  11. Personally I think Sheeds has totally lost the plot now, turned two faced as as WJ suggest a total hypocrite. id read nothing really into what that senile ol coot does now.
  12. I mean they dont even have a fair dinkum song that lot..sheeesh !
  13. Hmm..Toiges might make an interesting home.. BF as stay at home.. JR as runaround CHF. Not a bad combo on a good day actually.
  14. Sanity at last
  15. For those that ask where to play him youd give him the realm that Bartram currently enjoys...Toovey however CAN kick a ball. Granted this was not always the case, but it IS now. . Hes a BP kinda guy with massive offensive pressure . Hes actually got the things Barty lacks. That would be why I would like him. But everyone is entitled to their own take on it.
  16. Sydney are scheduled to play GWS in the season opener
  17. keep in mind thats pick 8 and 12 in this years draft. A weak one. A ist round compo pick activated next year in a stronger draft carries much currency.
  18. Red...our record is indeed crap. But Im not too sure how we could have done much better this year at least. A red hot go was had( being had ) What was, was, What is, is..and what might be who the f knows..lol
  19. It does raise the situtation though of how many picks we ( or any team s) particualrly wants in any draft. This years is such a raffle and next years supposedly looms as much stronger. So is it fair to suggest if a club was looking to overhaull its bottom enders they might wait til 2012. As it stands we have 12, 36, 54, 72, 90 Id reckon 72 and 90 are junk this year and will prompt a "pass" I cant see many club getting too wildly excited past about 60 and so even as some suggest Maric for a late pick for the hell of it its not going to be anything under any teams 3rd round ( likely) Id be surprised now if Addam didnt go the way of his Sandy team mate in Valenti and found himself delisted. North migh tuse their own 94 to grab him , who knows. Going to be intersting in a way to see how the Dees go about this as it will say a lot about how the FD sees us going forward.
  20. Couldnt really hurt to retain him as a rookie id have thought.
  21. good point Red. I cant see us mining too deep with picks either.
  22. I would have thought Neeld would know him well. Could be a handy pickup to strengthen our already more than handy defence.
  23. Havent seen anything much discusssed but its quite possible Toovey will walk. Unsure of reasons , possibly Pies cant afford him . Any interest in a premiership defender rated quite highly by most filth I know ? Would likely show in the draft.
  24. Its not us either. Clubs deny inteterest
