Oliver is a rare bird. Not only can read the ball....can predict it ( seemingly ) He plays footy like Bobby Fischer played chess. A quality Oliver needs to employ ( better ) is tempo. He makes the impossible happen but he needs to actually make the possible happen also. About the only player on our list who can achieve something higher than A grade...I E..Stellar.

Oliver is very good.. freakish in some respects. Has a bit of a way to go yet to pass Tulip. He might You obviously never saw Flower play

Very different players playing very different roles....but equally badly Both disappointing. It begs the question though...given this year may or may not soon become a finals write off...at what point do you reset with up and comers.... cutting the deadwood aside to either step up...or out .

So as I read it...the forward line is dysfunctional. The backline undermanned and either ill directed...or clueless. Then there's the midfield...just the one side of a coin there . And the fabric that binds it all together...a distinctly one dimension black and white instructional sheet. 9-11 Another disastrous season the ?

I must be watching a different team. Our coaches have built a team which is all and only about about the inside contest. It's all gladiatorial stuff. We haven't an outside game. We don't really have the players for that "style's. So I'm not as convinced as your good self that this FD are particularly open-minded. In fact I'm inclined to think they're the absolute opposite and only budge from their road of thought begrudgingly.. Time will tell. We might have a bit if talent but I don't see a game plan that's going to win a GF...not now. We're one way flat track bullies in a way. We've lost the ability to cover our backsides...and we can't kick a sausage to save ourselves. Quite frankly we're an embarassing mess at the moment.....and cherry ripe for picking over by any team with aspirations and better coherency. I concede I often have a very different view from many here.I don't shy from it I'm so reminded of Icarus.

Why will it change...if our style doesn't. We will only be competitive against teams with poor defence. Any team with a good one will create the same headache we've started the year with. Our current plan A not only won't win finals now...it won't get us near them And remember...we have NO B !!

I fear it's not panic that stirs...just a possibility of increasing disinterest. This club burns people.

And it's always different when the guys are playing someone who doesn't give a flying fig about YOUR methods. Tis like dancing with your sister etc. It's not the real thing. There's talent....being wasted.

Those who are entrusted to oversee ...need to investigate change. Not necessarily wholesale ...but certainly incremental. What we're doing together with whom we're doing it with ... well....it just ain't working.

666 doesn't help....but it's not in play all game. Other teams just aren't allowing us the largesse of swarming the ball forward. They take it andrun away.. .and there's not enough chase in us. They have it. Then pass it... Repeat repeat. We're left flailing around. Unless we change it's only going to get uglier.

And this is where comments such as those of Red have traction. We lack the run and skilled players to move it quickly..and dare I say controlled. We do need to change. Is there the will to do so in the FD ?

A problem DV8 is much comment here isn't really invented . It's observational mixed with personal experience and expectations. Trac is own worst enemy. He's been in the system long enough surely to know what's expected. It's not an eternal waiting game.

Any team that controls the ball , especially on the G will deprive us of our"brand" Our style,if you can call a dog's breakfast attack, a style, requires the ball continually in motion. Almost scrumlike They've figured us out. Wasn't hard.

This is it. You'll get what you will get...but whatever that is it'll help towards another project. This one's rapidly going stale
