China: I want to take you higher ( part two )
-
This is very much the gist that some seem happy to gloss over , i.e that it takes time and effort and that we are perfectly situated as a vehicletodrive acompany's foray into the Aussie market. Others and myself noted sometime back that this is exactly what LG did witth much success. Something i didnt twig to til now and quietly brooched inhe article is the significance of the Chinese New Year. This may well be why the2nd (or first lol ) sponsor hasnt shown themselves yet....waiting for the RIGHT year !! If you think thats far fetched..... well it isnt. Very superstitious lot

You sort of get the feeling that the MFC went after a new coach... the likes of which it had a reasonable idea of, but whats transpired since is Neeld's proved a catalyst for wholesale change. I think we're still coming to terms with this as its been so throrough and so dynamic. In so manyrespects its hard to recognise this club as ours. No complaints mind you You cant expect to build anything substantial and long-lived without due care to the foundations. These seem to have been implemented , and of a scale and design never seen before at the MFC. Rome wasnt bult in a day , but built it was, grand it became, and awed in its day and still now. One of the many endearing legacies of Rome, and particular its great Colliseum was how it took a simple building unit, that you and I know as a brick and remoulded it, redefined it and utilised it in ways un heard of before. Its not always the complexity or ability of any single aspect that determines effeciveness and success its the design and implementation that ensures this. This is exactly how I see the club at present. Neeld and Co are taking our 'units' and redeploying them into roles better suited to not only themselves but the greater good of our own Rome...aka The Mighty Demons. If he ( Neeld ) is half as good a thinker re football ( gameday) as he is in regard to all that goes into getting there then we are in for some interesting times

ah well..some evidence if such
-
On what are you going to base that they wont slide ?. Their better players are pensioners now. Whos going to score goals.? whos going to stop them ? Can they muster an A grade midfield ? all in all theyre looking pretty average for 2012. Shame.. I like the Sainters. verdict...window shut
-
You mihgt be missing the point.. Yes Judd is a rung above them al at carlton... and they play very judd centric. Days he doesnt fire up they slump.. days he's 'on' they focus too much on him. Its not a very balanced team at all.. Look at the likes of what Geelong are, Collingwood were/sorta still are. ...much more eveley spread across the field. Cartlon went all out to secure Judd.. . eggs in one basket etc. We'll win another premiership before they do .
-
I dont think anyone has....seems pure conjecture or speculative to date that this is the role intended. Hey , it might be. . But id wonder if theyd take a bloke used to running...and who has trouble shaking a tag and lob him in the constrictions of a pocket where he would be well and truly 'minded' . Still.. all will be revealed, as they say..
-
I agree... hugely over rated, mainly by themselves. A top 8 team simply because they arent a bottom 8 team. Top 4 ? Nahh !! far too Judd centric..As good as he is he actually is the reason they WONT make it to the top. A beautiful irony isnt it

And the AFL GF eclipsed the RL one also... that seems more like it. Interesting to take a long term view as obviously the AFL have whereby Melbourne is on course to outrank Sydney as the largest city within 20-25 years . Brisbane/BrisVegas to get seriously big also. Sydney's influence over a lot of things will dwindle ( not before time ) The NRL is in trouble looking forward, but in all honesty it wont be because of GWS... the Dwarves will ride the coat-tails of whatever happens , they wont cause it.
-
I too.... id be curious who's figures and how arrived at.

Jeff Farmers forte ( trademark ) ?? v Davey's ?? There is always room for a very quick and nimble high flying mark taker who knows where the sticks are. In all fairness , as a forward, Farmer had/has more bows in his quiver than Aaron. I have some reservations regarding the idea of bulking a player and maintaining his outrageous speed. Seems contradictory for mine. Im happy if they can reinvent Aaron..... lets get some value back by all means. The new maxim of the MFC a Player shall only take to the field if his contribution to the team effort warrants selection.Nothing else applies. Either he sparks or we run him out in the magoos; that simple.
-
We'll see. Would have thought Davey much better in a little space a-la a flank than couped in a pocket. Where has he been playing in any match simulations to date ...if anywhere ? Its a nice idea I suppose... I'll wait to see any results in this regard. Im a little over Aaron. ..perhaps that tempers any enthusiam.

Im not just saying this becuase Im Melbourne and so inherently loathe the Filth but I just dont see Collingwood maintaining that 2nd position at all. In the finals Maggies sans Neeld lacked a lot of its fire in the middle. Maggies without Mickey Mouse will be a work in progress. Dont underestimate the loss of such folk as Leroy ..or even Neon ( in season games..as opposed finals) . The Pies arent supernatural, they will need to re-mesh and fire. Theyre most likely a top 4 club but im not giving them any more than that. Geelong..what do you say...same ol same ol...( damn!! ) Blues.... they stil lsmell of the same effluent.. Not overly convinced they will get much better. Hawthorn is the matchup for Geelong currently in my book. But hey not a ball kicked in anger yet...lol Cant see the Roos setting world on fire. Cant see the Sainters maintainng their status. Dogs to go yelping with tails bewteen legs. Freo and Weagles...between them a very good team , but who's turn ? Lions?? The feline council ought to revoke the licence to use that monicker !! Toigs to growl a bit more in 012 GC will come on even more...watch them carefully GWS >>>>> toilet paper Bombers.....could be a dark horse...need to see some form but they will improve i believe Port.... probably still at bottom of harbour me thinks. Crows... an enigma. Might take a few seasons to come good again. Swans. probably where they are....again !! then theres us....... why do I feel like Charlie Brown !!!!! but may, just maybe....Lucy wont take the ball away...just maybe !! lol if there was ever a moment we really ought to lift...its now. Go Dees
-
I was only explaiing the context others were putting on this....but having said that I couldnt give a rats about GWS..not an iota.
-
Context...the CLUB gws has attracted the smite of the karma faeries.. the injury to Patton is the intrument thereof.

Food for thought...and apologies as the word food after xmas day is fraught with danger !! lol If wee take the view that there has been a lot in recent times done by the AFL to fulfill its agenda and provide for its minnows and its empire building; then what still remains to unfold ? Only a simple simon would now think the AFL could rest on its laurels and allow things to develop 'naturally' as though a level playing field were in use. We know this to be manifestly un-so. We ( that is MFC ) need to heed the lessons of these past few seasons and guard our assets ferociously. We need to take a 'shoot first' and ask second approach . The Jackles and Hyhenas that be the AFL are everywhere. Vlad cant afford to have his beloved experimetns fail. We can see there is no limit to the scullduggery , the lies, the deceit , the hypocrysisy and double/triple standards that the AFL will go to to see out it ends. The AFL knows no rules, it only meaures itself by its results. The AFLPA stuck to its guns and dealt Vlad a blow, he wont like that and will seek compensation to his hurt via other avenues.. Enron could have learnt much from the AFL So what do we have in store for 2012 ??? im affraid to think...

A very different Melbourne in the making...... like it great reporting R&BB -
We went there last time as Melbourne Demons....we will always be the Melbourne Demons.. its not the issue some think. They may choose to have less emphasis on the Demon as opposed to MELBOURNE. Its not that hard.

Could be bigger than Ben Hur.. humungous potential in all of this. Could actually provide the catalyst for long term survivability in so much as a gateway to large sponsorships, exposure and memberships.. Hawthorn can have Tassie... we'll take a slice of Sino-Apple pie thanks... or is that some custard dumplings !! Its all to do with the scale of things.. In an Aussie context China goes off the map in terms of numbers. You only need a sniff of an interest and that translates into a very meaningful result. Makes more sense playing a game there than the NT personally...well for 4 pts at least ( and the very large number the AFL would pay to have us do so !! ) First in best dressed.....lets make that US !!!! Gong hee fat chow ( or whatever..) lol

Mine here too ) Handed to me by my Filth-y wife...lol

Did we train ? -
Meanwhile back to the Altitude training .......... This club continues to search and think outside the box. The Sqawkers might like Kokoda for its trekking ....maybe we can do Base -Camp ????....that would set the bar rather high

I see where ya coming from but Nth let so much slide. Im not sure this is apples and apples.. Melbourne for some years now has been developing business and sporting connections with China. We were the rollout team for the AAFL.. yes. the Lions were there but only really as a game of one team is a bit dull. This was our reward. Im sure others will look on enviously and seek to covet where they can but it takes time, lots of it, to get anywhere in China. Anyone else just thinking they can rock up and go will be in for a rude shock.

Its quite heartening to see that much of the hard yards over the years trying to get a Sino-Aussie thing happening is actually bearing fruit. Whilst almost incidental in way of news it could have major ramifications down the track. First in best dressed into the huge Chinese market can only yield dividends. Very forward thinking by the club.. crossed finger and such.
