Nice So much today about gen Y ( and other impatient lots ..lol ) is that its all about now,.,..want it now..... need it now. and so on The other thing along the housey line is that sometimes when you are fixing things up you discover a few surprises.. Sometimes...you find rot and ant where it was assumed/hoped it wasnt. But it is. And it needs removing completely in order to fix. So much of footy is between the ears. This goes to mindset. Expectations and aspirations and determinations etc are all 'cultural' in nature. Changing culture is hard. Its started but there's much to do. That any might think this would happen by now will be in for serious disappointments. I would however suspect a major shift in this to come through the next preseason. There will be those who'll moan 'yeah we keep saying this year after year" and to them there is a certain degree of being right. We have. And we will have to keep saying/doing until it actually happens. I will be as curious to see who goes/who comes into the FD at seasons end almost as much as the new players. There is still fine tuning to do everywhere. We can never become too complacent or arrogant to think we cant improve.

I think a number of others have nailed the essential here. Its about patience. From many quarters , even if we have none. Neeld /FD are evaluating. They have some serious decisions to make come seasons end and they are giving those they think warrant it every opportunity to plead their case. I detect Neeld likes a bit of multi-task type ability in his players. He likes that they can fill other roles given team make-ups or match ups. So given he really hasnt a full pallette to play with he has to shuffle and re-shuffle and cast players into non-comfort zones just to see what they do. Neeld is t really concerned with wins for the sake of the table at present. Im sure , secretly, he doesnt mind the notion of better draft pick numbers , but he stilll wants to see who has the basic nouse to give thngs a red hot go when given the opportinuties. Some are...some are obviously dog-f'n-dumb it would seem by results to date. Neeld gets to start the re-stocking of the side properly come seasons end. This is when we will see real change.

Yep.... in the grand scheme of things hes been there 5 mins.He surely needs to have the chance to influence th eselction of players whom he feels can carry out his vision of a game strategy. Hes started with Clark, a roaring success til injury struck. He needs far more able bodies , talented and intelligent players. In simple terms many more than currently on our books. It takes time No...the players are failing in THEIR roles. Yes , he should be judged....at the appropriate time. If say this time next year we are still the same, then we're going nowhere. Until that time his is still a job in progress.

shh !!!! People dont want reality....they just want to wallow in our ineptness. Its what were used to.Jamar and Clark ..of course theyd have made a difference. Even a half way fit Jurrah would have been happily at home in this. We're playing without a lot of our 1st 22 players. Weve hardly got a decent structure to speak of. We've been playing like balcmange all year. So this game is a shock ?? Hardly Bring on the draft and FA....quickly !!!

I think there sare some on here that need to understand that often commentary is not 'bagging" Its observational critique. Many a time a poster will say 'player x" isnt up to speed, is down on his game, is not adding to the team but detracting etc. Often its not a...'geebus X is a f'n uselss piece of excrement' but "x was a liability today, turned clanger king , needs to find his mojo " and on and such. And you knwo what,sometimes players just arent as good as they either were percived to be or were in the past. When this happens do you turn a blind eye or simply acknowledge what is...IS ? Wrt Bate, what is...... is that he's pretty well passed the proverbial crossroads and I cant help but feel hes on the wrong road.

Yep. And it takes a little time. I Dont expect manifest changes to present til next season . Hope he sticks around for a while .
