  1. I may be jumping the gun....or the shark here but has he just up and left ? I have no dount hes in a mess of a situation but quite frankly its not of our doing...its all his doing. The club put a lot of time and resources and patience into this lad to say nothing of the extenuating understanding. So we get nada ? Has he walked, or is he going to allow us the decencyof utilising a trade option ? I wont apologise if I seem a little cold .Im not insensitive to his situation but is all seems one way to me...bugger that ...sorry thats just rubbish.
  2. Is he looking to play AFL..or SANFL ?? out of dimishing interest
  3. am I allowed to add annoyance ??
  4. Pitmaster youre probably the only one here who interpreted it that way and since it carried no water you take issue. Fine. How anyone prior to Daniher could inflict any influence upon the current list is beyond me but seemingly known to yourself. im not your dude idiot. Actually Successions is the plural of succession. .. You'd know that given its your first language though. Successive is an adjective, Succession was used as a noun. Daniher taking over from Balme..is a succession. Baily from Daniher, is a succession. count with me.... 1....2... 2 can make a plural. Now do you want to keep it up. Probably got all of the off season.
  5. Just out of idle curiosity was there much difference in the wind conditions between games ?
  6. ill settle for 'better'
  7. both know how to time things dont they
  8. thered be a few lining up for those lessons ..lol
  9. Thats encouraging isnt it. On may levels. Shows some are definitely buying into the coach's philosphy. Some havent and will be gone. Its all about the process after having planned to achieve. The old addage that those that fail to plan , plan to fail , goes further with planning to achieve. Snakes grow by shedding their old and obsolete skin,. We ( mfc) are about to do the same casting off that which restricts and constrains and provide a fresh opportunity to grow. It looks like things are moving in the right direction, at least behind the scenes.
  10. Billy , fair enough. Quite frankly I really dont see why anyone needs to justify to anyone whether they have a membership or not. Its a choice. Its not a precondition of following a club, its a choice. We are all entitled to weigh things up in the context of all that goes on in our lives, the various priorities and commitments and after this decide whther or not to be a member. Theres a lot of chest puffing and grandstanding bordering on bullying actually about memberships, attendances and even the critique of players. Some people need to get a life, a full and balanced one. Football is part of mine if only spectating now. its not all consuming though and Ive many other interests which give me pleasure and do so nearly ALL the time. Maybe its BECAUSE i follow Melbourne that Im not obsessesd with success as Ive never really known it..lol. I sure hope I see a flag before I go but if not...such is life, or death. I enjoy our wins and lament our losses. In the end its just a game. Life goes on, the sun shines and bananas ripen. No point given yourslef a heart attack worryiing over something you cant change is there
  11. Ill be an astute husband who knows which side his bread is buttered.. My wife is Collingwood. Ill be outwardly quite and neutral, inwardly invoking the hell of hades to work against the dark force we know as filth. Still, if they win I have a happy wife thats a pleasure to live with...its not quite win win, but I dont really lose..lol
  12. you need to have a secret stash of 'nanas !!
  13. Yep, sun is out, bananas are ripe. Coffee's made and I reckon, allthings equal we wont lose another game all year
  14. No RM....you're not alone. Quite frankly this season was just an interruption of things in order to arrive at this point. Where something will ( hopefully should ) happen, big time. I dont think many quite understood what this year was actually about. For mine it was a rolling exam. All were under the microscope, form the coaches, and support through the actual playing list. To see what /whom worked, and what /whom didnt. Only fronm a standpoint of knowledge can you make informed judgements and then act upon those findings. This year will have given Neeld all he needed to know. Prior to this season there would have been suspicions, nows theres knowledge. The deadwood and bad fruit will be cut away. Cant wait
  15. I dont even think about it...its direct debit...it just comes out each year. Its not a decision, its a faith.
  16. Rivers actually played not too bad, and I suppose he had some interesting roles to fill but Tommy Mac managed in these his early days to actually blanket some much better credentialed players, hit way above the expected weight. Id favour him. Im not sure how you rate Trenners in the top 5, sorry, very much a substandard year for him, for whatever reasons.
  17. No pitmaster...you just jumped to your own conclusions...and assumed.. Suck it up
  18. youre right...even when reading the title I thought 5 ?? lolBe very interesting to see how close that mirrors the Bluey...fair cal lthere Dale
  19. It wont take 5 years, but more than likely come th eend of the current contract for Neeld will see the team actually competitive, somethiing you could augment and step up from. You just cant take 5 years. Neeld wont take that long, he knows he hasnt go that long..lol We didnt not have any players, we just didnt have a team when he took over. There will be a serious influx of new faces for 2013 and that will be supplemented ( as a matter of course ) for 2014 The team that hits the decks in 2014 wil lbe al but unrecognisable from the one that finished 2011. Were 40 games a man shy and a handful of decent players short of a reasonable team. Two more years...not 5
  20. This all ties into the other thread. Daniher and Bailey's eras put us where we are. And people expect it all to turn around on a sixpence. There's still pain ahead, but with it might just come some actual development of a team
  21. why... Shall lets try and keep it relatively this century shall we. This IS the era we are talking of. Between the Preacher and Bailey we cover 97-2011. Thats 14 years. They are successive. There is no one at the club that was there in the Balme era.You reach back to god knows when for a morsel to use and then you answer your own question...fmd The only coaches to have had influence on the current crop ARE Daniher and Bailey. Daniher didnt develop, and Bailey didnt ( add anything you like really !! ) The FD's really nailed all those draft opportunities, my wordy yes. The mess we're in is directly attributable to these two regimes.
  22. In hindsight ( and why not ) Daniher took a lot of shortcuts and made a run at the finals Our 2000 effort at the GF was, well, lamentable. Some might say he simply rode the coat tails of some of Balmes efforts, but I concede its not clear and will be guided by the readers opinions. Finishes post that appearance : 2001 -11 _ Daniher 2002 - 6 _ Daniher 2003 - 14_ Daniher 2004 - 5 _ Daniher 2005 - 7 _ Daniher 2006 - 7 _ Daniher 2007 - 14 _ Daniher 2008 - 16 _ Bailey 2009 - 16 _ Bailey 2010 - 12 _ Bailey 2011 - 13 _ Bailey Danihers preference, now almost universally agreed on was to utilize a certain selct group of favourites , seldon bringing on youth unless no other choice. There seemed no discernable development of youth. In the end it ( th elist ) was so bad he was dismissed and Bailey introduced. Baileys role was initially to garner us prime draft picks in order to build a new list and then to build upon this with development of these draftees and anyone else brough onto the list. We now realise blind Freddy and Dongo Dave could have deliviered those draft picks and that Bailey wasnt a Developers ....a.........e !!! Hence another crack at rebuilding with Neeld. The low, basement like floor from which hes had to start is a direct result on Danihers and Baileys periods at the helm. They werent alone. The respective FD's and recruiting is as much to blame. Thats my position
  23. bloody hell..we have to go back to Northey.... try recent history.. The efforts of Daniher, Bailey
  24. was it a hurricane ??
