Yep...kidding myself ( not ) Malthouse is a mercenary whos found a pot of gold for his retiremenmt. Good for him. Hes goig to a near ready made list that just needs tweaking. Easy peasy Neeld is building a team and participating in the emergence of a sound , properly resourced and organised football dept. Mouse wasnt available. Neeld was. deal with it and wtf is that supposed to mean Jaded , in the context of coaches. . What do yo think MM would be doing that MN isnt ?? Malthouse is not Merlin, theres no magic you understand. Jaded, Im sorry, again whilst I understand your angst towards Carlton, please keep it so directed and leave any venom towards OUR club at the door cheers

He has shown glimpses of such, no argument, in fact much of the cause of many's frustration with him.. Glimpses, no stringing together of much.Hird ? big call. Doubt it. . Id be happy if he were a consistent Gysberts Your call on this is somewhat different to the opinons of others I have who watched him play. Lacklustrre, disinterested and underdone were comments offered to me. Sporadic and occasional were others. Glimpses is s consistent theme. Now I shall say I havent been to Casey at all this year but I trust these opinions.Hes not any real different in age to Blease or Watts for that matter and older than Tommy Mac. Cant see how thats an out personally but happy to differ on opinion. I'll defer to the FD as to what they actually do ( big of me I know ) . For someone whos been in the system now for 3 years he should be much further down the path. Im totally not fussed should the club trade him. I would agree one year is a nonsense and two reasonable should the club decide to retain him.Ill accept that hes bought in should he excel at the coming preseason, if hes there

Not making anything up Stuie., so set the record straight for all of us. enlighten us. Do tell us why Gysberts is a lot better than some here ( myself included ) suppose. Im not tripping over anything. Youve suggested hes been injured sufficiently so that his best I take it hasnt been allowed to surface. This correct or not ( by your view ) SO how do you see Gysberts in the grand scheme of things ?
-
Why dint he light up the Magoos Stuie ...huh.. Hes that good according to you. Injured ?? oh thats right. Hes just been hard done by, hes misunderstood. Just not appreciated by Neeld . Actually in that youd be right, and hes not alone

Aaron Davey reconsidering his position at Melbourne
beelzebub replied to Brayshaw Self's topic in Melbourne Demons
would be probably the only possibility however unlikely. The more you think of it he hasnt too many options. -
whilst I appreciate your thinkings any judgement towards Neeld is really beneath you.Not your finest

cut the crap mate...you cant have it both ways.. He was more than able to play latter inthe year. DId Neeld use him much ..NO.. By your own argument ( liike to see you wiggle out of that ) it wasnt that hard. if Couch wasnt afforded too many games. Nor Fitzy. Why? Because they arent good enough yet. Liston..oh yeah baby...that works in AFL. Any seasoned observer will acknowledge theres a chasm between the comps. Many a Liston winner hasnt lit up the AFL. ( separate subject ) There a lot of positions going begging in the 1sts for anyone halfway decent who could play at AFL level. Everyone keeps raving about Gysberts. ( a two game screamer so far ) so either he has the abilty or he hasnt.. Youre of the ilk that suggest he is. So why didnt he play more than he did. ? It wasnt injury thart kept him out it was attitude. Quite simply Neeld would rather play someone who at least understands therole and will apply themselves in favour of someone who thinks they are already there and ought to be selected. if Gysberts was as good as you suggest but being kept down then he ought to at least be setting the Scorps on fire. . He didnt.

theres two Perth clubs ?? Dont tell Freo or West Coast....but theres an interloper !!! ( if youve been there, you'll understand... tad territorial !! )
-
Injured all year was he Stuie ? He was well able to vie for a position in the second half of the season. Hell, my two dogs and cat could have had a crack we were that short of starters ( well actually the cats not that good tbh ) Point being it wasnt particularly hard to get a game had you been able and willing. When Jordan did pull on a jumper he hardly troubled the statiticians. He had a touch of the "Moloney's" We obviously rate players very differently.

Watt-O !!

if he had bought in...hed have played a bit more. Its that simpleproof of pudding is Blease. Read between lines of Brads salutation upon leaving.. There are those that just dont get it and dont put in the work. Neeld is not about to waste talent but he will punish those who dont toe the line. Which category would you put JG in then ?
-
Its his head ( JG ) by all accounts that needs working on not so much the body ( though that also) He's not 'buying in' If players cant be part of the team philosophy theres no point them being on the list.

But what if its the Elephant staring up in the face ?

Herald Sun reports Gysberts to be shown the door...Neeld has gone mad!!!

thats so [censored] funny I think ill print it out and frame it !! -
A consideration regarding Rivers is this year he didnt play nearly so much down back and yet that probably wasntthe worst area on the ground for us. Our mids and our inability to convert from having little up the pointy end was the achilles heel for us. Hes much more the defender and this is where the Kitties would play him. We probably got this part covered to a degree with emerging and established others. We arent as desperate in this region as we are elsehwere on the ground. This may temper how the club goes in terms of negotiating.

you obviously dont understand what a formula can constitute. Your so called indefinable qualites are exaclty that DEFINABLE. They can be introduced as variables. Its EXACTLY what a formula does.. It computes anynumber of inputs according to a guideline. If you dont get that....stop !! -

beelzebub replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stuie..how else do you suppose a committe wil ajudicate value if not by some yardstick or such. This by any name is but a parameter and as such it would have some presribed variables. You might even call it a formula. Such things as were they in the top 25% of earners etc for the club are all taken into consideration. . Youre dismissing one set of values and proffering others. It might be all or none. But Iimagine how they rate one player will be carried across the board. its really just swings and roundabouts. ( but we try to avoid the slide ) -
Stuie. I fully acknowledge your position torate a player however youso wish. I might suggest there are indeed a sizable number who would rate Rivers as better than servicable but not quite so highly as some here might have him. If he goes, he goes and another will fill his shoes more than adequately I imagine.
