Jackson and Pert are very different fish. Their histories suggest very different approaches.. At Melbourne Jackson left the football completely alone. It's not his thing. He had Roos to completely oversee the football, both onfield and off field. PJ just righted the ship and made it seaworthy. Pert is notorious for leaving his fingerprints all over the football. I will be very surprised if he doesn't make his presence known and thoughts manifest should we continue to spiral.

I'll say it again...we lose by design. Everybody quick to rubbish the players. They in the main are quite capable. We have gone back to lusting over magic fixes at drafts. Our plan ..gamestyle...is just inadequate in the current climate. You can have the best ingredients, but if your methodology and/or recipe is bogus you'll end up with crud. We are currently...crud. It's not the players fault in the main. They're being instructed to play in a manner you simply can't ( and expect to keep it up up 4/4 all season ). We are seeing the results of poor design and poor management.

I worry when the notion of doing things fashionably is invoked as a reason to do...well... anything. On-trend..itself fashionably cute, only really means it's called current vogue. It is indeed the fashion, but fashion is invariably only a nod to a fad. Fads seldom are more than VA transient design by one imposed on another. Can we not as an individual, or individual club make our way according to what suits US ? By being naively on-trend we've dug ourselves into a mire. Those that often experience the greatest success...are not followers, but leaders. Leaders don't do on-trend. Leaders just do.

This always gives me a little chuckle these days ? Yes...reasons. ..well not so much reason...as a chain of events. The man Roos actually wanted , we didn't get. The man others wanted...we did. Any which way we're stuck with this lame duck and his bunch of gooses for years now.

What you describe is all we can see, most definitely. However, if one looks and sees there are shadows where none were expected it has to raise an eyebrow. Jackson thought he was part of his succession plan as was Roos. He wasn't. I'm sure that wasn't expected. Something shifted at the MFC and I'm not convinced it's for the better.

As it happens...our little tribe ... well part of it...dined and imbibed at the SG this evening. They already had half price steak night...but they took a further 20% off the bill. Bargain. Been about the best use of my membership card this year Thanks SG

Whilst you hope...I come to terms with the reality. You re right...our dilemma is systemic. I've said..to much derision for some time...our losses are by design. Most won't discern between design and desire though.

It's a bit like Drambuie... something you just savour it small amounts. It's worth it Compared to what you might spend on rubbish...like going to the footy....???? This won't disappoint

I'm concerned. I see nothing...I mean NOTHING that encourages a belief. Each week more harm happens to the real brand of this club...not the BS brand the club's fools would have us buy into. Our brand is in reality what we bring to the game. Currently....it ain't much. When do we win ? .... even worse....will we win ??
