Truth be told we haven't been in the race for at least a month. The min Trac went down the season followed. I'm seeing a lot of fumbling and frustration out there. Cohesion and common sense in our footy has been an infrequent visitor for some time now. Its not all doom and gloom . A few rays of sunshine sneak through at times. Unsure about cues and racks but I'd be ordering a handful of gurnies and getting a head start on 25. At best we're now tilting at windmills. Might as well give the kids a kick. What's to lose. Wake up... It's nigh on impossible right now.. I dare you to show me otherwise.. not that you or anyone can. We not only have to win 3 of the last 4 ...but improve our % by around 8 to even have a show. But again I do get what you're hoping....i.e more attend. That not so many do... well.... There are those here who sat through any and various games in the 60's ...70's 80's.. ( some a particularly horrible game in sep 88 v Hawks ) .. 90's ..Noughties.. and even the next decade ...whatever it's called.. Here we are in the new 20's.. started with a bang... now not so much. I fear the clarity of your thoughts may be lost on some. I neither blame nor dismiss them. Their desire is real. However what is..is. What is is a hill inclined to about 60deg. Anyone attempting to scale said hill must approach the incline and jump and scramble with unheralded gusto and unerring grip for the slighest mistake will have them sliding to the hill's base. This is the mission facing the might Dees at present. It's not so much a run home as scaling K2.. ( i thought and realised denoting Everest might be a bit far fetched ) Anything can happen in footy. That said more often than not the 'expected ' often happens. Could we come up against the Pups at a worse time ? Port are flying... Yes, the classically called '8 point' games will start exacting their toll from here on. As well there is little point falling in over the line into the eight if you've spent all the 'reserves' at hand. Not the time of year to be running on fumes or buggered legs. These teams are quickly put to the sword. Id rather we we're starting on 25 now than trying to prove anything else in 24. Not put cue in rack... just adjust the focus. I think we have to a degree...with some encouraging results. We need to keep going down this path.

Footy for mine is a lot about being in the right spot, getting to the right spot, denying others the right spot and a thorough understanding of where a ball is going and where it is. ( kinda like the old game in the Sun.... for those that remember ) Some are gifted...just know and understand. Some have the building blocks but need practice and mentoring. Some should take up macrame....
