  1. Nut...his hand was still quite sore from accounts
  2. No one would ever guess it's the off season now would they !
  3. And it's very much a part of why a lot of secondary deals are hanging in limbo. The FA segment is way too long, AFL just trying To wring every last morsel of exposure during the off season doing no one any real favours .
  4. We have our own Little Red-Blue book didn't you know !!
  5. Thre is no compo pick currently. If/ when comes is supposedly Roos bound for Pedersen
  6. If anything he'll go harder. He's the sort that figures he's got half a season to catch up.We struck gold with this one.
  7. For a change, I have faith that Melb will get a deal done for whatever is reasonable. Suddenly this club seems to know what it's doing and how to get it done. Might take a few days though.
  8. I get the feeling there are many half baked deals out there just waiting on particular dominos falling, then the rest will. There are clubs like ourselves unsure of what if any compos will arrive. Expect a late flurry of activity as a result.
  9. I'm happy with keeping 20 I just sense the pies want to go to the well a few times.Martin would be logical you'd think.
  10. Isn't it the Dees thare are suggesting it's just a pick with no players and swaps involved? Just asking
  11. The acquisition of Dawes has to to be looked at in context and not isolation. If all we were to take out of this draft was say someone at 4 and 20 then you would look at that but we aren't and haven't. We HAVE Viney, we HAVE Hogan, we will get another great kid at 4 ( wines likely ) we have picked up experience in Byrnes, we are likely to bolster our utility fwd/bk stocks in Pedersen and still likely to add to the mid experience with Ray. What we need is some serious help up the sharp end in he form of a ready to go kpp who'll play a 2ndup role and dissect the pack off of Clark. They're simply aren't that many to select from. Pick 20 is what it is....the price. Markets determine prices invariably and it will this time also. It's hardly the end of the world!!!
  12. Anyone would think reading some of the derisions that we were going after Dawes as though he's to be the prima force at the pointy end. Once, perhaps. Currently we're after the 'double' of a "double act" , just as long as he makes life a bit hot for the defence and slots a goodly number of supportive snags then all is well. , The aspect I take heart in is last time we courted him he thought us a basket case, now he wants to weave for us. Times a changing !
  13. Of course THEY will think 20 a good deal !!We however !!! Lol
  14. What I think will be interesting is how all of this, our trades and drafting will be viewed and adjudged by those doyens of all things footy...the media. Not that I really care (for them) but given the persistent kickings and derision handed out over recent months I wonder who, or indeed if any ,might change their tune (unheard of I know). The list is going to be oly passingly recognizable in some ways. The spine, well we'll have one , and not that shabby. A midfield whilst not a throbbing 351, certainly a decent engine capable of improvement. The team average for games experience will jump a bit and start to bring us into the realms of real competitiveness.. That "hardness" and ability to play the roes assigned and with some expectation of doing those competently augars well for the coming season. Often though the Smucks and buffoons parading as the 4th estate have seen fit to dispense with any fair and informed appraisal of the MFC but carry on some conspired agenda to undermine the club. Will they be able to ignore the truth now ? Probably, but I'd like to see at least one come out with a reasoned précis of where we will sit after all the papers are signed and names/numbers called. I wonder who will have the cohunes !
  15. This will be a very good indication of where we are as far as horse trading goes. . I can't see it being a pick 20 straight off. Will be interesting
  16. I can't see that this will probably end up as a straight swap (player for pick ),Walsh has already broadcast this idea. Makes me think some convoluted deal will be done or a current offer refined. Pies have to deal eventually, they're just full of themselves; how unusual lol
  17. What ? Not in one draft you say!All kidding aside this IS a point being overlooked by some. This is the start of the correction. There's more to come. Whatever's not working or developing by next seasons eos circus will be addressed then and so on. But as a huge re-boot of .serious experience and budding potential I honestly can't remember an instance. This is a serious reformation of our structure and ability on field. Edit I do counter your assertion of where we will finish. 9-12 for me.
  18. And those responsible have left the club and yours or anyone's chances of them answering those questions are nada.It was a poor and I'll conceived choice. He (LC) didn't fail so much as the selectors. We know what happened, we f*#ked up. All you do now is cut your loss and move on.
  19. Sorry wasn't having shot at you.Just seems we're discussing it in overs (as such) He's done and dusted all bar the paperwork. He's yesterday and we've so many promising tomorrows now to look forward to and I'd rather we talked about them, cheers.
  20. And sees NO shadow !!!
  21. Let's all stay living in yesterday. So much gets done there. It's all fairly pointless,he'll be kicked to the curb and we all move on, Cook included, where to I really couldn't care. I wish him well but I'm over it. Lucas Cook , AFL player = epic fail ( hell even as a vfl player = fail ) The Cookie has crumbled !!!
  22. I agree, that is its posturing. Walsh wouldn't be earning his money of flying that toothless cloth they call the magpie flag if he were just just say, yeah ok, what ya offering etc.Much of this will have ALREADY been scenario'd and run past various ppl. It'll go through one way or another. I do however concur with the other poster who suggests he (gw) reminds him of a posterior !!!
