  1. he'd be spewing if that were the case
  2. Lock in 9th Eddie...lock it in !!
  3. went straight through to the keeper did it fan ? I only note shes shut the f*#k up since Vlad got back and has finally rounded up the strays. Shes a joke
  4. I couldnt care less if she never put pen to paper ever again. She has used up all her lives now. All she has is her OPINION and very little fact. What little that is real is often so twisted beyond recognition as to render it moot. There are scribes who rely on FACT... She tenders hearsay and gossip as reality.. As about real as any reality show id suggest.
  5. umm .maybe we ought to merge this thread..
  6. And for mine , others were complicit in those 'hopes' of what would be uncovered.. The silence is deafening !! there are no doubt some who will abide by the idea, but wait, where there's smoke theres some sort of fire....ergo We must be in the mire no matter. I suspect what weve seen isnt so much smoke as fog and mist. No fire.
  7. Might just be me but I havent the slightest interest in any of them. They are someones elses list . yesterday stuff.
  8. youre correct..Got my games mucked up
  9. Some items that lead me where it did. They in themselves are proof of nothing ( seems a theme currently about some areas of the AFL ) However...as it occured to me : This only grew legs and became an inquiry proper in the vacuum that was Demetriou's visit o/s. i firmly believe this never would have got off the ground in this format had he remained in town. The main flag bearer from the 4th estate was/is Wilson. Others seem either sycophant in nature or me too. Wilson was either clairvoyant in her ability to know where the Inquisition was in its workings or she was in receipt of surreptitious intelligence ( ironic that really ) . Vlad rides back into town. He would have to be dismayed by what he finds... the kids have been playing with matches again tsk tsk !! He cant turn off the rampant machine but he can remove its fuel. Suddenly Wilson seems bereft of 'news'. The underground communication tunnels have been shut. The Inquisition express has been set off down a branchline. To where...who cares !! lol As Sussan would have it...this goes with that!!
  10. It cant be coincidence surely that AA's time at the Fortress will end at about the same time the inquisition comes to an end. The symmetry is just too powerful...lol I suppose there are any number of possible views to this whole debacle. some pieces of the puzzle just seem to fit quite well. No guarantee admittedly they are the correct ones Still looks like a train wreck to me... the Poltergeist type ..lol
  11. All of this reminds me very much of the adage "Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread " There is a very good reason why the whole issue of "list management" had been let alone. Its quiksand. Wiser heads at the AFL ( not necessarily cleverer ones, just wise in this instance ) simply realised that once you set of down the path to Tanksville that you would invariably at some point become so immersed in the quagmire that extradition becomes near on impossible. For this reason it was left alone , ne denied for years. There's no problem ( well there is now and its really of our own creation , so no admission there..lol ) What was once a seemingly harmless exercise now had grown into serious use of the end of season ( or for some the whole season ) as a building block , a conduit to rebirthing a team. As with all cultures ( especially those of the Petrie dish variety ) they grow. This one morphed quietly into a monster. Demteriou realised that the only real way to deal with this was to effectively starve it and let it die away of natural course. Eventually if all carrots were removed then with no attraction teams would move on to other avenues of recourse in reshaping teams and it ( the AFL) would have been spared the agony of dealing with the beast. As is often the way of things some form of influence and opportunity just becomes so dazzingly attractive to some that they leave all forms of sense at the door and go right on in. The whole "inquisition" was born out of, in my estimation , an opportunity for some to make a name for themselves and in so doing cement their position within an organisation. This someone who , for sake of argument call ...."A" thought he saw gold glittering away in the pan. He ought to have known it was Pyrite after all it had been unearthed by the Queen of Fools herself and abetted by others similarly twisted in their views and with their own barrows of bile and gurge to push. In his rush to prize the shining morsel he ( "A") forgot to seek counsel. This was to be HIS prize. For surely these scribes wouldnt have published anything if there wasnt some elements of fact even if unsubstantiated. They must be there to validate. Too good to be true he wonders ? Apparently not for the poor demented one is now blind to reason. As with others who have shown scant regard for wariness and circumspect adherence to such wise ideas as , dont poke the monster, "A" stepped forward and with great fanfare announced the lifting to the lid of Pandoras Box. As with Raiders an d the Ark , once the lid was prised off there were indeed Demons galore but not the type he had been hoping for. These would not be his prize, his trophy, his head upon the platter, they would be his undoing. The material EVIDENCE to to unequivocally support the media innuendo simply wasnt there to be found. It wasnt there , for it didnt exist. Demetriou knew and understood this. "A" didnt. In his rush to judgement he tripped over himself and even then took scant notice of those who would rush to his help, for they were also impotent. This crusade will eventually come to nought. It will because it has to. There are any number of reasons why, some go to politics, some to ego, some go to the powers that be wresting control back form the insurgents. The greatest reason , however is quite simple. The journey was always aboard a Ghost Train fueled by myth and story. Like all great myths it starts from a misunderstanding then grows into 'certaintly' as others give credence by way of adding layers to help themselves. What some thought was tanking was a reflection of their own prejudices. Just as the 'roar of the sea' when listening to a conch is nothing more than the sound of one's own bloody rushing internally , so is this inquisition nothing more than the self serving of those with private agendas.. Of course it came as no surprise to Demetriou when Andersen tendered his recognition having fallen upon a sword as the sword was most conveniently left by Demetriou for him to do so. The Crusade has now become not much more than a lost and riderless horse whose days are spent wandering aimlessly and ineffectually nibbling here and there in the blind hope of stumbling upon the fabled cluster of clover, the Lassiters Reef of proof. The poor beast will follow its rider into ether in time.
  12. Im trying OD...Im trying !! lol When others take notice you realise its not just you...A very good mate ( Filth..ah well..lol ) mentioned. " you guys are starting to get serious huh !! "
  13. Flanagan, Quayle....umm.... ummm... ( gee that didnt take long ....... to run out of names..lol )
  14. Its very easy at times to get carried away in the midst of a preseason. We've all done it here i'm sure but this one is so, So , different. its hard to know where to start even. Is it the locales, is is the support infrastructure, is it the reporting , the videos , the fresh faces, the beaming older ones. Is it the sweat pouring off glistening bodies or is there something else, something a little less tangible but none the less prevalent amongst the group. Confidence, and a belief that they are actually on a journey going 'somewhere'. So many times we've allowed ourselves to believe we were at the gate only to later realise it wasnt open at all. This is no longer some kind of mickey mouse outfit , this is actually a professionally and properly run business whos job it is to field a competitve AFL team. I dont think good ol' Big Kev could be any more excited than I
  15. I for one will never forgive Mathews and Dipper for their despicable effort in that final. I suppose its testament to how good our Robbie was that such low acts were prescribed. Flower was simply the most sublime player in any jumper I've ever had the pleasure and good fortune to watch. I don't think this would be a stretch by any to suggest if to poll players of his era from all other teams and ask but one question. Who was the hardest/most impressive player you ever played on ? I would practically guarantee one name will be on the top of the list ; Robert Flower
  16. Starting to remind me of that old film 'Ace in the hole'. Much of all this is simply being driven by media hyhenas who've got big tickets on themselves !!
  17. It was both, and both areas have been addressed.
  18. Probably as simple as Mouse wanting to recast the leadership group in light of 1) his ideas mightny have been as per Rats and 2) time for a fresh reboot.
  19. Someone had better go ask his gran for the latest goss and low-down !!
  20. and changing the efficiency and effectiveness of the midfield benefits the other ends too. point being... our game can change around a bit quicker than some are forecasting
  21. I for one am thoroughly enjoying these reports as well as the DeeTV and such. In so many ways this club has changed in quite a remarkably short amount of time. I haven't seen a training for over 18 months. I haven't see a Neeld era one in person yet but i can get a feel from the vision. This is a very different club now. The levels of professionalism and the nature of expectations is just beyond anything I recall By comparison any recent efforts at the Dees seem commensurably amateurish. Its palpable as to the difference that the likes of Rodan and the other experienced players are making to the list, its even sparked up ol' Aaron Actually you can sense everyone's lifted. Again , its always easy to get carried away in the off season but this doesnt seem like the off season, its a genuine PRE Season in that they are gearing to play footy like they have never done before. If i had to be somewhat flippant its as though we not 'mucking about' anymore. TISM !!
  22. I m must confess i almost hurled my Wheaties upon noticing the threads description but it does make for a reasonably useful and timely comparison. Im not nearly so conservative ( was going to suggest pessimistic , but some folks opinions are fleshed by explanation , so Ill reserve that ) as to think we wont actually be competitive in the middle come 2013. We wont be giant killers ( well we will be GWS Giant killers ) but we will change our game demonstrably with an effective if not polished midfield. Im going to suggest we will best the Toiges. They seem awfully wasteful often given the talent they command. They seem incapable of finishing off some games ( indeed some teams) where they ought. ( then again they had a couple of good wins in 2012 ) I think where we will best them might take a season grant you ) is that we are creating many more roads to goal than the Tigers. They are extremely Riewoldt centric. As to the OP.. I know its been done to death but I wouldnt be able to warrant Sylvias inclusion ( in composite team ) as he just hasnt the runs ( consistently ) on the board. As to Dees v Toiges.. Im not sure they will cover our forwards sufficiently ( in fact many teams will struggle )
