  1. lol...Libba got knuckled. He spoke the truth initially then tried to save his arse after he realised they didnt want to listen.. Especially certain elements within the AFL who are always looking after their own. Without doubt BH thats absolute proof of nothing How is something in a book any different from uttering in a paper or on telly ?? Hows your straws holding up.
  2. Interesting for me amongst all the fluff was the Tapscott comments. I took that as he might be needing to do a lot better. Might just be me
  3. Much has been made about the improvements likely to our midfield but I really think the backline will straighten up anb tighten up quite considerably. part of the "hardest team to play " ideology I would think would go to the idea of making the oppositions forward 50 an absolute misery for them. Out of school analogy perhaps but in my 40 odd years of B-ball the strength of any of our teams was defence. Most teams can score, but only better ones shut down the other teams ability to do so. This then initiates all sorts of frustrations and errors. I really see out attack coming from strong movements off the half back line. Yes it will be marvelous having some folk up front to kick to but im really looking forward to a strong Melbourne making it hell for teams trying to get near the sticks.
  4. A cool day for them by comparison to NT . Should be interesting to see how today transpires.
  5. Quite possibly Demetriou's AFL didnt want a bar of it and quite rightly, but Anderson's jumping jihad splinter group certainly saw an opening !! Vlad inherited this balls up and yet thats karma in a sense for had he not p!ssed off OS for a little freeby then none of this would have transpired
  6. you are quite simply wrong on many accounts here. So Libba and Fev point blank fessing the tanking wasn't sufficient to incur an enquiry into Carlton, and by comparison d!ckhead Mc Leans tomfoolery on the couch was ? FFS that's laughable. Interestingly enough he was /is a Carlton player at this juncture. Talk about pots and kettles and yet we are the naughty ones alone. You are happy to ignore the facts eh BH
  7. There's the syndrome of ' victim mentality' . It like paranoia goes to the idea that some one , or indeed the many , are ALWAYS targeting you. I don't subscribe to that as such. I do believe however there is indeed a feral element of the media ( and they are ably fuelled by the ' nose out of joint' enemy within types ) who are agenda driven to strafe us at any given opportunity. You can actually be the hunted without being delusional in recognising it.
  8. that might be but the occurrences are not mutually exclusive. There are definitely elements of the media with what seems not just an axe to grind but agenda driven spite.
  9. Happy to disagree
  10. why should i care. His forte was reading the ball and negating play. Emphasis on the play and not players. I always felt his game limited and wont miss him an iota. Anyone whose been here a while will verify this as being my view. He had somd good aspects but the ability to play a fwd driving instigating role off the half back line wasnt one as he wasn't too crash hot with the ball. Watts can intetcept and instigate as he CAN use the ball. He cant niggle players yet. River could. Different style of play. Gillies will more than cover Jared
  11. not really. Jack can kick.
  12. i will add however the nature of fluff or puff isn't much different . It's the actual descriptions that have changed. I 'll take a little encouragement from that. If there was one single thing I take away from these and other reports is a singularity. This being that those now at the club and well and truly paid up members of the "bought in " club !! That's incredibly valuable.
  13. Use ..... Buy ... Pretty funny if you think about it lol
  14. We are learning, and we now have The Fink. Funny how the ball game changed after we got him. This is how the games played. You only play it for keeps. The filth do and so should we.
  15. Our ally in all this is fear. The AFL have fumbled through this trying to scare us. I reckon McLardy , the club and the Fink have it worked out. The ones fearing the most need not be us, it's the AFL itself and this is their Achillies heel and we ought to play it for all its worth. We can go to court and Vlad and his buffoons wouldn't be able to stop us if that was our only recourse. Only a fool would allow that and whilst he's a tad slippery he's no fool. Call it what you ill, a game of chicken or a Mexican standoff, or what ever we need to stare the bastards down and call their bluff. Only then will something masquerading as common sense will occur.
  16. theres a bit of real competition all over the field now, and it will rev up as some come on. No free rides now
  17. A consideration for those rushing to ridicule both the notion and by inference the noters , of any less than pristine governance and direction by the AFL is the simple reality that the whole competition and its running (at afl level ) is PURE manipulation. So why is it really such a stretch to invite the thinking that some elements and some governors cross that line differentiating what is acceptable and what ought not be. Keep in mind it's only the AFL itself that defines not only the qualities of that line but where it exists. The org is run by people. People are fallible. Since the year dot.
  18. Not just scrutiny avoided but recipients of blatant favouritism (visa deal Judd) Even Eddy can't fathom that one. It's all Kosher and straight up and down at the AFL. Governments , quangos, clubs and companies have all succumbed to corruption. The IOC is built on it..... And somehow the AFL flies in clean air ?? Yeah right
  19. I see Wattsa as a more of a defender-sweeper.. Gillies can do the shut down , negativity style thing quite well.
  20. I dont think its I who's gullible here mjt, of course you have your own flavour of herrings to cook, barrow to push , flag to fly.,....you choose !! Funny how sfa has happened to Carlscum whilst Fitzy been on watch. Thats not just my observation, nor WYL ( whos quite capable of his own vocals and thoughts , and catergorically not of mine ) To think that such things dont ever happen is quite frankly stupid.
  21. Youre dead right...its just purely coincindental isnt it !!
  22. im not sure Jack has the mongrel (yet) Jared could get narky... A needed quality.
  23. Daylesford country is fine. There's the 'pink dollar' scene for sure but it can make for a very nice relaxing weekend with SWMBO. I actually like spending time with the mrs ( not all of it of course lol ) and there's great eateries and drinking. I'm not advertsed to a day spa, many a thing worse in life than some lovely getting the body all relaxed ! ( no...no happy endings lol ) Some damn fine Banana splits can be had that way btw. I do concur there is such a thing as tooooo much pink..... I mean so many other wonderful pastels to choose from ... Mmmmm !! Wouldn't fancy the mrs McGrath ver 2.0 either Agree with BarnDee, you be a little tired of it. There's a great little railway up there too.
