  1. Last year he had Bartram, Rivers, Grimes all down there with him at times.

This year he's got Gillies, Pedersen / Sellar at stages, and a two game player in Terlich, not to mention Watts and Dunn who've had half a season playing in the back line.

There has been no consistency to our structures for the past several years and undoubtedly that has not helped the development of anyone in the side.

Imagine Chip with Gibson, Guerra, Hodge around him. He'd thrive.

  2. In terms of free agents, it has to be Thomas for mine.

Throw the chequebook at him - if Sylvia and Davey both go we should have a heap of space in the cap.

If Ellis was showing any signs of ever being fit, I'd like him too, but the guy just misses far too many games.

  3. The likelihood is that we are going to have a very, very high pick - or two, if the afl are generous and actually feel like supporting us - in 2013.

We need midfielders to get the ball down there, as yes, a tall trio like Clark, Dawes and Hogan does (on paper) seem very threatening.

We should be looking at Kelly, Billings, etc ahead of Boyd, who will be a star but we have so many tall forwards he may be surplus to our requirements.

Free agency may also be a factor - if Sylvia wants out and we can somehow convince Thomas to come in ($$$$) - as well as possible want-aways like Watts and Frawley.

Midfielders can be found but he likes of Hogan are a rarity.

  4. Not being AFL ready is baloney - he played, and played well, against seasoned bodies at SANFL level.

Admittedly it's not of a standard comparable with VFL or even close to AFL, but it's not far off.

Simply, he looks bereft of confidence, confused, and slow.

He's not alone out there, but the signs are not promising.

  5. Beware the poison pick 4.

    Morton, Livingston, Tambling...Toumpas?

    Looked lost out there today.

Played senior level SANFL, which is more traditional old-school style football. He doesn't have the understanding of AFL...mind you, he's not alone amongst Dees out there!

    Love the Camporeale comparison.

We are going to be reminded for years about Wines, just as we are with Watts / NicNat, Cook / Darling.
