Want three words only next to our selection;
"Think Jonathan Brown"

Is it possible we pull off an 11th hour deal for Aish?

Yeah - asked for mods delete this one

From Vietnam and it shows.
No Petracca or ex Magpies.
Where do the newly traded recruits fit in?
-
Not excited by this, however, he deserves his name correctly spelt in the thread title.
His name is Tomas.
TOuMpAS - misread it.

That is interesting. Need a data analysis more skilled than me to interpret. I suspect North 2nd to Swans 18th over a decade comprising 22 games a season represents a normal distribution curve.
As you said in opening post - WC are off the chart.
-
Interesting to see stats for other interstate clubs.
Hawthorn and North in Tassie.
I reckon Sydney get an AFL sanctioned dream run in overall terms.
96 GF - Dunkley
O3 ~ Barry Hall in Prelim
Academy
COLA
Jettas running goal against Pies in Prelim.
Sydney must have ongoing success for marketing and TV rights.
Anyway, like whinging cos you're not born into the Packer family. Get our own FD in order first.
-
I tend to agree they get the rub of the green. Walker was dragged off it in the 10 yard square a few years ago that should have cost WCE a Prelim. As it was Carlton who were the victims, didn't care much at the time. Same with North in recent Prelim there - decisive decisions went West.
Your stats warrant further scrutiny.
If there is a 1600 differential over 10 seasons that is 160 annually.
Most of the past decade they have been "better" than us; three GF and a flag v well....
0ver a season 160 FF translates to 7 a game. So if 50 frees were awarded in a game - maybe they would get 28, we receive 21. Generally better teams get more frees cos they are more skilled. Poorer sides less so, infringe more.
Frees aren't meant to be 50/50 in a match.
Agree, the critical ones appear to go their way.
Your Freo stats are interesting.

Never got a decent trade from Scum since Ray Smith.
Only comfort I draw from Milkshake is the way Roos re- ignited Teddy Richards' career.
-
As much as I'd like Swan Josh Kennedy leading our midfield - how about re-uniting our own skipper's brother; Zak at Sydney. He played in the finals, add some in and under.

Maybe our turn sometime to land a Pav or Fyffe in the draft
- 1
-
Yup. Depth is more important than anything for the list at this stage. Landing an A grader will be great but wont amount to anything if we have to continually top the team up each week with VFL standard footballers each week.
So true re Freo - Fyffe and Pavlich ok but their last six bottom out with Zac Dawson.
-
Pulled off the M Clark deal one trade period. Regsrded as the deal of the draft at the time.
20/20 - No - then, yes.
-
Great effort R n B.
You've assumed Petracca is going to make it like Brayshaw. I hope so too and that your selection is vindicated. But we are Melbourne.
We need pace, pace and more pace. Against GWS we looked slow and static.
Another big forward option so we are not one dimensional with Jesse.
Someone like - er - Mitch Clarke.

Think Chips the only one there without a Premiership medallion.
BTW Cheney recalled for Crows.
-
Yeah the count was pretty anonymous - broadcast on radio. None of the sycophantic Demetriou or gushing Bruce. It was actually better. First one televised was Peter Bedford 1970.
-
How about games played?
-
The other high flyer I remember was Ross Brewer. A bit like Howe - a great Mark but a pretty ordinary footballer.
The other high flyer I recall is Russell Colcott

Rubbish !! I went to multiple Melbourne v Richmond games in the mid to late 70's. My abiding memory is of Royce Hart destroying us, Drifting across packs and taking mark after mark kicking heaps of goals. Add to that Sheedy trying to kill everyone in a red and blue jumper, Roger Dean, Dick Clay and a half a dozen others
"Mid to late 70s" - Hardeman played in South Australia.
I'm thinking early 70s - Hardeman always seemed to have the better of him.
Despite being some of our worst years - until now - we actually had Hardeman, Frank Davis and Tony Sullivan as Victorian State players. Our half back line all represented Victoria.
-
Jesse's face smiles down at me in Demon jumper as I log into NAB Banking.

Didn't Hardeman also come second in a Brownlow?
Might have been the year after Greg Wells
-
Check my avatAr ~ words not pics
Let's say I don't think Melbourne supporters ever saw the best of Royce Hart
Hardeman returned in 81 after a few years in Adelaide. Wore 9 on return.
