  1. My thoughts exactly. Geelong twice, Port, Sydney, St Kilda. I don't believe I'm asking for the world when I say we only needed 1 of these, that's it. If we were talking about just one game then I can understand it being a bit rough but we now have a critical mass of data here to show we've had several stabs at it and come up short. Hey if we want to be a 9th to 12th team then that's fine because invariably you'll find that they lose close games too, its not just us.
  2. I am interested in a stat. The one about being in the 8 after Rd 23, are you in or are you out? I'm also interested in the stat of statement games against quality opposition RE: Port, Geelong, Sydney etc. Did you win or did you lose? Its pretty black and white. Inside 50 counts, scoring shots, clearances are totally irrelevant in that scenario.
  3. I hear you on both those passages. Especially the second one late in the 3rd quarter, massive error getting caught in no man's land there. No doubt it wasn't one of his better games for the club but I guess even the most experienced make mistakes. I know people will probably come back at me with plenty of other examples like the Geelong game but I still think he's serving a purpose overall.
  4. How did you go? I’ve thought about this before but I don’t want some poor receptionist to cop it.
  5. Can we get one of these bad boys to run on bath water?
  6. I’d really like to know who people are talking about when they accuse someone of drinking their own bath water because it always seems to be a faceless person or people.
  7. It feels like we’ve worked our way up to finally be a Richmond (pre success).
  8. Neither do I. Only meant it tongue in cheek. Something questioning your sanity would have been better.
  9. This is one of the more well put statements I’ve seen today. From the outside looking in it doesn’t seem impossible, but from the inside we have a mountain to climb now. If anyone is feeling optimistic about the next few weeks full credit but at the same time may god have mercy on your soul.
  10. Fairly sure its been mentioned in the post game thread, or any post loss game thread this year.
  11. This sucks
  12. If Hogan wants to go, then get the negotiation underway and work out a deal that will benefit us in the biggest way possible. If that's not the case then I am not interested in trading him.
  13. Spot on there. These are the cold hard facts and people can defend them all they want but this is the reality. We were schooled yesterday, downright schooled. Buddy knocking over Fritsch and no-one around him even flinching, horrible set shots in front of goal and a serious lack of leadership. The Swans looked like a final 8 team, we looked like a team trying to get into the 8. By the look of it we don't belong there.
  14. Yep this has been happening for a very long time. It will not change until we take the leap of faith and rise up in an occasion like yesterday. Even in 04, 05, 06 we fluffed the chance to get top 4 and have a serious assault on a flag all because we'd fall over at the crucial hurdle. We can't sit around waiting on the world to change, we need to actually jump out of that fish bowl first.
  15. We just needed to win 1 of these 5 so we could qualify for the 8. Not asking them to push an elephant upstairs.
  16. I hear you mate. We heard all summer about 'burning in the guts' and the desperation to play finals but when push comes to shove we have lacked in crucial moments this season. We get told that we are so close and we probably are but close just won't cut it when requirements are black and white. At some point we have to break through and break out of this prison that keeps us from going anywhere. I wrote a similar post to yours after the Geelong loss. I know what its like mate, I've got very few passions in life as well right now and it would just be so great to get in the 8, finish this season and onward and upward to the future. Instead its just very draining. I'm feeling so tired today after all that energy spent.
  17. It is easy to forget that we are a young team. Not going to use this as an excuse but it does explain some of the lack of composure against finals sides. I'd love nothing more than to just make the finals, get that stupid hoodoo out of the way and look to 2019 with fresh eyes.
  18. Someone in the other thread said Greg Norman. I think they are right.
  19. For a guy who really hasn’t been back in the side long that is kind of disappointing. Was hoping he’d be burning never to lose his spot again but then again maybe it’s just a game.
  20. It’s a bit like that isn’t it.
  21. I’m way too annoyed to discuss changes right now. Maybe tomorrow, toodles
  22. Yeah or we could just go down to the local gun shop and get some sharp shooters there. I like your idea better though.
