  1. It is easy to forget that we are a young team. Not going to use this as an excuse but it does explain some of the lack of composure against finals sides. I'd love nothing more than to just make the finals, get that stupid hoodoo out of the way and look to 2019 with fresh eyes.
  2. Someone in the other thread said Greg Norman. I think they are right.
  3. For a guy who really hasn’t been back in the side long that is kind of disappointing. Was hoping he’d be burning never to lose his spot again but then again maybe it’s just a game.
  4. I’m way too annoyed to discuss changes right now. Maybe tomorrow, toodles
  5. Yeah or we could just go down to the local gun shop and get some sharp shooters there. I like your idea better though.
  6. Still waiting for Nibbler to crack in and take over a game like this. Hopefully not far away.
  7. After today’s result and impending health deterioration over the next few weeks I think it’s a good idea to post some random things here that will hopefully get a laugh. I turned straight to this one which is a favourite of mine. Jesse Ventura going to town on Dick Cheney.
  8. You can always tell what the result will be by the way he runs in. But yeah I agree, there has to be a set routine and a lot of practice to get it right. I don’t see how this can’t be an important part of preparation.
  9. Welcome! Wish it was under better circumstances. I’ve asked myself those very questions countless times and honestly there is no clear answer. Supporting this club isn’t for the faint hearted. Personally I’m at this point where I’ve forgotten about the aspirations of winning a flag, breaking this finals drought has become a flag drought in itself and as pathetic as that sounds it is this burden that just has to be lifted or we’ll never be free. We’re waiting for this big break and it doesn’t appear to be coming. It’s extremely difficult to take. What is the point of it all? I don’t know to be honest. We rock up to the G for yet another big test and flounder. And you never seem to get used to it either. But quitting isn’t an option. Even if I wanted to.
  10. This is a club that is used to playing finals year after year. There is a general feeling of expectation and they know they can get it done. Much like Hawthorn, a lot of their fans are usually quite confident of knocking us off whenever they play us. We on the other hand are not even close to this mentality. We go into games like this feeling nervous and if we’re honest pretty unsure if we can even do it. Mate we even go into Gold Coast games with half an eye on the doomsday scenario! There’s the difference. Finals are expected and something that just happens for them, hell even premierships are something that just ‘happens’. Much different philosophy to us.
  11. That, right there. Proven to within about a 100% fact rating.
  12. Jones - Love Me Do Jetta - 8 days a week Frost - Drive my car O.McDonald - Tomorrow never knows Salem - Here comes the sun Pedersen - Yesterday T. 13. How did we not do it? Just feel like we probably should have done it.
  14. Just watched it now. Look it wasn’t too bad, he had a general positive outlook which is something you probably want to portray to the fans in these times. Honestly don’t think he meant any of those comments flippantly.
  15. I haven’t heard it yet but reading that it does wreak a bit of individualism. Will have a look now.
  16. All I’m gonna say is if you’re going to trade Hogan, do it this year and only if he wants to go home.
  17. Oh that’s great to hear they went to Jake Lever’s engagement party. Did they have a good time? I would hate anything to get in the way of them having a good time! They should have gone to the AFLPA to get out of that commitment.
  18. I love Jesse, but man the people who say he’s a downhill skier are starting to have some merit. Against GC he clunks everything, kicks beautifully. Against good teams he can never get off the chain, always looks injured etc a bit annoying
  19. 6. Harmes 5. Salem 4. Brayshaw 3. Oliver 2. Frost 1. Tyson Today can get stuffed
  20. I tried my absolute best to refrain from coming on here to foam verbal dirrohea but I don’t think it will so much good. What can you say that hasn’t already been said? You rock up to the MCG in a big stage match hoping the club will make a statement but fold faster than Superman on laundry day. This was always going to be a game where the first 15 minutes were going to tell a lot. You could go all in with the nutters who look at 2.6 to 1.1 and say “Look at that Melbourne’s winning!” But I think myself and a lot of people felt quite differently. I saw a guy who has kicked 40+ this year and playing his best season fluff one completely from 15 metres out slight angle. I see the trend continue into the 2nd quarter with T-Mac spurning one dead in front. These misses were not close, they were way off and they told me a lot about where the mindset of where our guys were today, which was not up to it. The swans took their chances and played the game in a professional manner. At half time I was shot. I don’t think there’s a bigger buzz killer in footy than bad kicking. And at 3.12 you feel your mindset is as flat as the guys out there. I just felt it was gonna be a mammoth task from there. Sam Frost, your head is to be held up high. Gus Brayshaw, your head up high. Special mention to Dom, Salem and even Trac who had a go. That’s where it ends I’m afraid, the rest were lacking big time. Neal-Bullen, big let down today expected s big one. Garlett, not a skerick of pressure. Hunt, next to completely useless. A lot more underperformers. I am so deeply disappointed right now. I know there are plenty here who are. MFC just feels like an unborn baby that does not want to come out of the womb, they like it in there because it’s nice and warm. We did a massive number on our chances today, there are still 2 games but gut feel is this is it. We had a few goes to get it right with St Kilda, Geelong, Port. You only get so many get out of jail free cards. I could go on forever right now but I’m not going to, that’s just stupid. But I want to say one thing: To all the positive Dees fans here who are always looking on the bright side. I am burning and gutted right now but I’m never going to attack you for being positive. At 3 qtr time I was going to a heap when I looked at DL on my phone and saw @Wiseblood tellling us to chill out because we were going to win this. I need people like you to keep me sane! I know it’s not always what we want to hear and I know I can be as negative as they come but please don’t ever change. We need this stuff. I’m sick to death of dealing with this kind of stuff from this club but what can you do? Signed the lifelong contract of doom.
