  1. If Hogan wants to go, then get the negotiation underway and work out a deal that will benefit us in the biggest way possible. If that's not the case then I am not interested in trading him.
  2. Spot on there. These are the cold hard facts and people can defend them all they want but this is the reality. We were schooled yesterday, downright schooled. Buddy knocking over Fritsch and no-one around him even flinching, horrible set shots in front of goal and a serious lack of leadership. The Swans looked like a final 8 team, we looked like a team trying to get into the 8. By the look of it we don't belong there.
  3. Yep this has been happening for a very long time. It will not change until we take the leap of faith and rise up in an occasion like yesterday. Even in 04, 05, 06 we fluffed the chance to get top 4 and have a serious assault on a flag all because we'd fall over at the crucial hurdle. We can't sit around waiting on the world to change, we need to actually jump out of that fish bowl first.
  4. We just needed to win 1 of these 5 so we could qualify for the 8. Not asking them to push an elephant upstairs.
  5. I hear you mate. We heard all summer about 'burning in the guts' and the desperation to play finals but when push comes to shove we have lacked in crucial moments this season. We get told that we are so close and we probably are but close just won't cut it when requirements are black and white. At some point we have to break through and break out of this prison that keeps us from going anywhere. I wrote a similar post to yours after the Geelong loss. I know what its like mate, I've got very few passions in life as well right now and it would just be so great to get in the 8, finish this season and onward and upward to the future. Instead its just very draining. I'm feeling so tired today after all that energy spent.
  6. It is easy to forget that we are a young team. Not going to use this as an excuse but it does explain some of the lack of composure against finals sides. I'd love nothing more than to just make the finals, get that stupid hoodoo out of the way and look to 2019 with fresh eyes.
  7. Someone in the other thread said Greg Norman. I think they are right.
  8. For a guy who really hasn’t been back in the side long that is kind of disappointing. Was hoping he’d be burning never to lose his spot again but then again maybe it’s just a game.
  9. I’m way too annoyed to discuss changes right now. Maybe tomorrow, toodles
  10. Yeah or we could just go down to the local gun shop and get some sharp shooters there. I like your idea better though.
  11. Still waiting for Nibbler to crack in and take over a game like this. Hopefully not far away.
  12. After today’s result and impending health deterioration over the next few weeks I think it’s a good idea to post some random things here that will hopefully get a laugh. I turned straight to this one which is a favourite of mine. Jesse Ventura going to town on Dick Cheney.
  13. You can always tell what the result will be by the way he runs in. But yeah I agree, there has to be a set routine and a lot of practice to get it right. I don’t see how this can’t be an important part of preparation.
  14. Welcome! Wish it was under better circumstances. I’ve asked myself those very questions countless times and honestly there is no clear answer. Supporting this club isn’t for the faint hearted. Personally I’m at this point where I’ve forgotten about the aspirations of winning a flag, breaking this finals drought has become a flag drought in itself and as pathetic as that sounds it is this burden that just has to be lifted or we’ll never be free. We’re waiting for this big break and it doesn’t appear to be coming. It’s extremely difficult to take. What is the point of it all? I don’t know to be honest. We rock up to the G for yet another big test and flounder. And you never seem to get used to it either. But quitting isn’t an option. Even if I wanted to.
  15. This is a club that is used to playing finals year after year. There is a general feeling of expectation and they know they can get it done. Much like Hawthorn, a lot of their fans are usually quite confident of knocking us off whenever they play us. We on the other hand are not even close to this mentality. We go into games like this feeling nervous and if we’re honest pretty unsure if we can even do it. Mate we even go into Gold Coast games with half an eye on the doomsday scenario! There’s the difference. Finals are expected and something that just happens for them, hell even premierships are something that just ‘happens’. Much different philosophy to us.
  16. That, right there. Proven to within about a 100% fact rating.

  18. How did we not do it? Just feel like we probably should have done it.
  19. Just watched it now. Look it wasn’t too bad, he had a general positive outlook which is something you probably want to portray to the fans in these times. Honestly don’t think he meant any of those comments flippantly.
  20. I haven’t heard it yet but reading that it does wreak a bit of individualism. Will have a look now.
