  1. Being lost trying to find a place 100 metres up the road wouldn't be beyond them..
  2. The thing is, for at least 3 seasons being predictable was what got us where we wanted to be. When playing against Melbourne you knew what we were going to do, you knew how we were going to setup but most teams couldn't stop it, because we were pretty damn good at it. The tweaks came at a time when they probably needed to. Nothing works forever and 100% of the time and I still think it's been good to see some evolution in how we go about it. At times we've trialed guys in other positions, some to good effect. I think it would unfair to Goodwin to say that he constantly goes back to the well. I think posts like yours have their place because they stimulate conversation. Personally I don't think our issues are due to being too predictable, the players themselves have looked confused with the gameplan this year. We're trying to find new avenues to catching teams off-guard and while it may not look great at the moment they're obviously trying to do something about it.
  3. Banana flavouring, the voice of a new generation.
  4. Am I crazy? Or am I so sane that your head just spun? 😝
  5. Historically my second team is whoever is playing Collingwood, so I last week I probably could have been swayed into buying a GC membership.
  6. I actually think that's exactly what will happen, Melksham to play the negative role on Gov. Makes his first game back a simpler task mentally and we know he can do that job well.
  7. Maybe the plot was a metaphor for something that was inside us all along?
  8. Say hello to Jake Melksham..
  9. Whichever team he's coming back for its gonna be great to see the great man again.
  10. The time will be right when it's right
  11. Find it hard to have this discussion with my friends without the terms 'precedent' and what we love about the game being 'lost'. Just because a ton of species happened with someone getting KO'd to the head by a knee doesn't mean this has to be the way going forward. If unrealistic attempts are frees against then a speccy with high contact should be as well in my view. Then the skill would be even more appreciated. Stand on shoulders even backs no problem but contact to the head, layzie says no. I still remember Majak taking a huge mark over Nev down in Tassie around 2017 and completely taking him out, thought he was dead.
  12. Step right up and get ready for Thursday night meltdown!
  13. Aren't 1, 4 and 5 examples of being unpredictable?
  14. Need to know more, doesn't make sense
  15. Yes my basket weaving classes are booked in 😜
  16. No I genuinely accepted the good compliment. It's nice to have appreciation and thank you because it wasn't easy to undo years of muscle memory. I very much take to task players being called cheats and I don't think it should be a word that we desensitise people to. But when we put people like Mark Robinson in key media positions, what do we expect? Call it playing ignorance or just checking out but I simply couldn't handle any more electric shocks from the AFL. They aren't the boss of me.
  17. All valid and accurate points. But what can we do about it? Really, what can we do? Crud all. Every single week we're on here losing our [censored] about the latest triggering thing that the league is doing or done and frankly I've had a complete gutful of it. Caring deeply and biting at everything like wore me out big time last year and the QF was the final nail in the coffin. After last year I lost all hope and respect for the AFL and it's integrity and released myself from it. There are better and more important things in life to get triggered by and this controlled corrupt sandbox sport is no longer even close to top on my list. Such is my lack of caring about the sport as a whole now I watch 1 possibly 2 games a week and consume next to no football media. I haven't even seen this Maynard incident so I really don't care. I literally take an organisation like the AFL as seriously as WWE now and they have some real talent writing their storylines. I'm tired of it, I'm so far past the point of expecting fairness or justice or even consistency in umpiring. We've made the game fricking impossible to umpire what do you expect? But I need a lecture about caring because I don't give a toss about the minuscule difference between two deliberate out of bounds calls? Parity and consistency does not exist in the current environment and it never will. Not being triggered doesnt make me less of a fan either. I pay my membership money to the Melbourne Football Club, it's an institution that I hope carries on forever and intention wise is 100% to support the club. I'm not an investor or stakeholder or proud partner of the AFL. And I will take the 'good for you' as a compliment because it's taken some work to get here, one thing for sure is it definitely needed to change. The league is a farce, the hip pocket rules, the sport is in trouble, the end.
  18. Ironic considering its what we need most.
  19. Not that it was evident last night but a lot of his misses this year have badly shanked to the right and I wonder if the foot issue has really affected this. Last night was probably more about confidence though.
  20. Do we want to win the Telstra tracker or win flags? Yeah being that guy, deal with it 🤪
  21. I heard the streets have no name out near the hangar..
  22. The top 4 itself feels fraudulent with Essendon in it
  23. Managed to get next to the sound desk so I can see the set list. No cigar ☹️
