  1. 8 out of 9 in the tipping stakes. Dogs stuffed it.
  2. May didn't get a lot of love in the votes but he was steady as ever.
  3. I'm convinced he plays about 3 inches taller through sheer mongrel.
  4. Ed Langdon turned back the clock providing that width and overlap we all love. He has to be one of the greatest athletes we've ever seen in the game and nearly 16km covered on a wet night is seriously impressive. The Olympics are around the corner and my question for the panel is a fun hypothetical: What Olympic track event would Ed Langdon excel in most? Sprints? Middle distance? Marathons? keen to hear from you guys on this.
  5. He is honestly one of the best athletes that's played the game. Get him to the Olympics to run the track events but bring him back for Melb games, probably won't even break a sweat.
  6. You know what my favourite thing that these pea brains are saying is? "Hopefully it doesn't rain in finals" At some point you gotta get out from under the bubble dome and play on the wide open space of the G in the elements. I know those jet fumes over Tulla are pretty strong but gee wiz.
  7. No but having someone who competes does. JVR was so important last night.
  8. Need a few results to go our way today. Cross your fingers hard
  9. I would like to get Woey in but could be tough. I wouldn't be thrilled with no change but happiness at selection isn't currently possible. So after that I say no change.
  10. Can you believe he's 20 years old? Cool as a cucumber, I love having this guy on our team.
  11. I don't know. Going to bed. Go Dees.
  12. Why do so many people think that the answer lies with developing talls yet to play a game yet? BTW if you thought Petty was bodied off it a lot tonight then Jefferson would have been suplexed from pillar to post. I don't know what Fullerton stands for but if they didn't select him tonight it tells you everything you need to know. I also don't know what we'll do next week for Jackson and Darcy and I reserve the right to not know. The answer probably isn't Petty but it's getting late and I'm tired.
  13. I did not think the experiment worked and I've said that a few times in this thread. The problem is that people with your thinking are happy to demand sweeping changes but never actually come up with any good ones themselves. So if Petty, a premiership player is worse than a VFL player and shouldn't be in the 22. Who should be in? What's the answer?
  14. Rough. His game wasn't great but he was basically a sparky being asked to do a plumber's job. Still a required player unless someone better is willing to reach for the brass ring.
  15. St Kilda are rubbish
  16. That's our coach right there. No system is faultless 100% of the time, and as long as we put the effort forward we'll be in most games.
  17. 17 pressure acts and if I had to guess they were mostly on the higher scale of pressure act. A good game from Koz and another reason why we won.
  18. "Don't kick sideways the goals are that way!"
  19. I understand the selection and Petty probably did his best to do what was asked of him. But he's not a ruckman bootlace and it's not a solution going forward. Petty's 'ruck craft' especially at boundary throw-ins was very hard to watch at times. Gave his best but it did not work. JVR showed much more in the way of agility and body on body stuff. Draper had 9 possessions in the first quarter while against Petty and maybe 10 for the rest of the game after that. Without JVR we don't win this game, period. When he went in there we won the clearances 19-11 and controlled the important part of the game. Annoyed that I've already done my votes because I'd definitely have him in there if doing them now.
  20. Just run with Dirk, the cool kids are doing it.
  21. I'll take our Demon spirit over being high off the jet fumes over the Hangar any day.
  22. "Man up!" "Just kick the bloody thing!"
