  1. Concussion and CTE is the only subject where I don't feel that I have to seek a former player's opinion. It means something yes, but they aren't Robinson Crusoe on this matter.
  2. Not a bad one at all, enjoy!
  3. For 2 and a half quarters the corridor didn't exist to us. We looked like we were just sticking with the system and hoping things would change at some point. The moment we dared to take it on through the middle was when we had the most fortune scoring. We needed to vary the entries into 50, even some quick and messy balls in at least hitting the deck in hard to defend situations would have been better than the same old slow long ball to stationary forwards approach.
  4. You know that's not true.
  5. Can you please just inject some of your positivity directly into my skin? I really need it badly.
  6. Sorry I didn't know about the Wilson side, been completely blacked out from media in the last day or so. Could make for some good tv.
  7. I dunno mate, we'd be lambs to the slaughter surely!
  8. Does the football media need to be held to a higher standard? In the 24 hr news cycle and Twitterverse have we allowed this to become too much of a free for all where serious issues like concussion and CTE are concerned? In the Alir and Jones collision we had ex players like Cornes defending medical staff and inadvertently (in my view) playing down the seriousness of this issue. We've now got ex players saying that Maynard's act was a pure football act and some even suggesting that Brayshaw should have protected himself better. Concussion and CTE is a serious health issue that is transcending the expert game knowledge and commentary of ex footballers. I believe these figures have a platform and with that, a responsibility to not provide misinformation and headlines that could influence the public and players at lower levels in a negative way. Does this field and this subject need to be better regulated in the media?
  9. How much more full of hope and dreams was this process last week? *sigh*
  10. Very well said Rjay, very well said. I have no idea what he was thinking in the moment but after watching the footage over and over, seeing those little stutter steps at the start after he'd been running at full tilt I wouldn't be surprised if his intention was to become a flying projectile and if someone or something got taken out so be it. Adrenalin is a weird and crazy thing and while he may/may not have meant to hurt, he was out of control plain and simple. He probably didn't think he'd need to have any responsibility for his actions and he's dead wrong.
  11. My anger/sadness/depression usually subsides after 24-48 hours but in this case I would say it has actually gotten worse as the days have gone on. Today is horrible, I don't know what to say. That game was for all the marbles, there's no other way of putting it. The difference between the two paths is large, very large. Very, very hard to stay positive.
  12. Thanks for these posts mate. I know this email will likely fall on deaf ears but it's a good email and I'd definitely be forwarding to some other outlets.
  13. Haven't seen it yet but where Rugby League journos are concerned I've always liked Roy Masters. Will check that one out cheers.
  14. Monday, Monday.
  15. Binman's PA does a fine job.
  16. Ah yes the "If you didn't know the results and read this thread you'd think we lost by 10 goals" brigade. It was a big game, people are disappointed. Go easy.
  17. We don't even have water left, just an axe.
  18. Looks like we've got all the evidence we need.
  19. David Ershon in The Other Guys said it best: "I think the best way to tell the story is by starting at the end, briefly, then going back to the beginning, and then periodically returning to the end, maybe giving different characters' perspectives throughout. Just to give it a bit of dynamism, otherwise it's just sort of a linear story."
  20. The most braincell scorched species in all of captivity.
  21. And also past his bedtime.
  22. Pass
  23. I just want to give it away right now to be honest. Have had a gut full.
  24. We better. Really need revenge, maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow but I dine on Magpie stir fry at some point.
  25. Trololololol!
