  1. Cant blame umpires we a mentally weak side. A bottom 4 side absolutely smashing us.

The government has basically built facilities for every other AFL club that they take ownership of, look at the facility for Collingwood the massive social/function room over looking the oval, imagine the cash they bring in from that before and after matches plus functions through out the year.

No we won't, as I stated in my post interstate clubs are crying to the AFL for more home games at the MCG. The AFL doesn't want Richmond/Collingwood/Hawthorn playing to many interstate clubs at the MCG all about attendances. Dump Darwin, get Adelaide or WCE at the G, play Port or Freo in Alice.
  4. As stated only the next 9 weeks will show us the answer to the topics question, if after that time the answer is no, we miss finals and really the season assessment will be a fail from a large percentage of our supporters. Make no mistake we all want the answer to be yes and hope I'm proved wrong and I will be happy to cop my whack if I am, but unfortunately IMO we will not win the 6 out of 9.
  5. Prodee, respect the half glass full thinking you have for the 2018 side. We will be proven right or wrong over the next 9 weeks. Some on this site including me have lost any real confidence in the club to deliver and it will take a lot for us to change this. Winning 6 out of the next 9 will certainly put a few of us back in our box and give us some belief in our club, but as it stands today our club has proved nothing in 2018 except beaten up on sides we should have.
  6. Yet, we still managed to lose the game, Hawthorn, Richmond, Collingwood, Sydney they know that is you pressure us for long enough we will crack. Port found a way to hang in there till we eventually cracked in the last quarter.
  7. No we can't, we are still mentally fragile and good sides know this

Vince needs a midfield defensive role, these are his best matches for our club. Harmes looks to be doing this role of late. Need to bring Frost or Pederson in for a tall defensive role, free up Smith and more importantly Hibberd he seems to be playing deep and we aren't getting that drive off Half back. In Spargo, Garlett, Frost, Weiderman Out ANB, Tyson, Harmes, T Smith
  9. I've posted a few times about the umpires, they don't know how to work the angles to see both sides of the contest. This is why we introduced the 3rd umpire so you had umpires on both sides of the contest and one down field. I hate hearing the umpire couldn't see the free kick as he was on the other side, that is what the other umpire is meant to see. There still is a stigma with umpires to pay a free kick when they aren't the controlling umpire. This is more prevalent when you have a senior umpire in control, the younger umpires won't pay a kick a senior umpire misses.

In Spargo, Garlett, Frost Out ANB, Harmes, Vince
  11. The only blokes to blame for last night is the 22 blokes in Melbourne jumpers First half domination and stupidity with the 50m entries and we get it right in the 3rd quarter and fail to put them away A good team would have been 7 goals up at half time with the amount of forward entries we had
  12. They suck us in every year and let us down year after year
  13. Pretenders may as well book September holidays
  14. massive game, this is a must win game. The 3 games after this are games we should win before we head into to a really 6 pretty hard weeks

Yep, same with me. In fact if we get the property near Jolimont station as suggested, and if we own this building cafe, bar, medical suites equals $$$$$ through commercial rent. Darwin, we would get 25-30K at a home game V Fremantle at the MCG. We would get 30-40K V Adelaide this year at the MCG, I think we are past the concern that we would get under 20K for a home game like we have in the past V interstate clubs. The AFL would like us to play these clubs at the MCG as they all complain they don't get enough games there.

My Take on Pert leaving Collingwood is either Pert or Buckley had to go to keep the supporters happy. It is easier to replace Pert than Buckley. On the Peter Jackson being excluded from the call, his job would be to present options for the board to choose, the end of the day Jackson isn't the one that has to work with his replacement. Is it a good or bad appointment we will know in 3 years time,

Sorry, the bloke hasn't been able to get his body right to play extended periods of games let alone get fit enough to run through the midfield. I like Dean Kent as he has two attributes that we are crying out for speed and a penetrating kick, he kicks the ball hard and fast over distance. Would like to see him get his body right force his way into the senior side and stay fit and in form for the last 6-7 games. We need him and Gartlett in our forward 50m with speed and pressure

I am a fan of Watts, understand he had to go and really wish he would do well at Port. He looks lost out there, like he needs to get out of Dixon and Grey's way. I wonder how Jack Trengove is going and if he is pushing for selection
  19. Interesting that most have Adelaide as our best win, only one so far has the North win, I would have thought considering Norths form line this year that was a much better win than an undermanned Adelaide that are struggling. Great to do this, but essentially we haven't achieved anything as yet except have a healthy win/loss. The next 10 weeks will define the season, we can either show we have improved or show we haven't
  20. Agree with this, and we went to ground way to easy. I know Collingwood had little pressure on them, but they kept their feet, we constantly went to ground and throw out hail Mary handpasses
  21. There was zero pressure through the midfield, you play 2m behind Collingwood would have hit him lace out on a lead every time. The only chance he had was to get in front take his space and if he is to big so be it. Smith was let down by the midfield and lack of forward pressure. I thought Smith and Salem helped keep us in the game till half time

I find this thread a little amusing today. We get absolutely smashed in the midfield and everyone's changes are forwards and backs. I think Vince either plays as that stopping midfielder or doesn't play. His best games for the club have been when he has had a job. Salem was playing well in the midfield but back to Half back and can't understand why Brayshaw wasn't in more center contests. We have the grunt in the middle but no class
  23. False hype, we are pretenters
  24. Who cares, Collingwood games aren't the be all and end all any more. You have clubs like Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon(when playing well) that draw crowds. The better we play the better the draw becomes, the more people that will jump on the Melbourne Band wagon the less reliant we become on deals like this. They didn't care about this game till you get one like next Monday both sides up and about 80K should attend

It is interesting with Cripps that no one links him with a return home to WA. Either or both are outstanding players wish they would both kick the ball more
