  1. Thanks for all the write ups guys
  2. I have just adjusted my Foxtel package to not include football or any other sports channels until the season starts again. Cheaper and no stress of watching any of the OP horror shows
  3. I think he said VVVVVVVV
  4. Yahoo we are going to NT three times next year that is wonderful news. I am sure that all Dlander's would join me in celebrating the chance for Central Australian residents to see our boys strut their stuff in their local community. Having been to see the Dees play in the MCG, Subiaco, Metricon and the GABBA I am rapt that the Alice springs residents will be able to witness something that Melbourne residents get to see regularly. Isn't just wonderful for our club to give people living in remote areas the opportunity to see the spectacle that is truly Australia's Game. Bravo! Bravo and yet again Bravo I say to the MFC, AFL and everyone else involved in organising such an inspiring event. Kudos to you all
  5. I definitely would rule him out because of this fact. Yeah because his football ability is undeniably linked to the fact that his brother plays for MFC.
  6. http://youtu.be/Rk16glWoMCk hawks can kiss my astericks!
  7. Howe and Pick 9 to GWS for who? So we trade a top 10 pick and a Howe (a dead set golden goose) for some GWS punk? lol dont ya love trade period.
  8. Oh well I guess that frees up a spot on the list and in the team. If we don't fill it with an established midfielder through trade it will give one of our many young players an opportunity. Good luck Col!
  9. Just had a thought he would have the opportunity to work with Misson which may be a draw card for him also due to his interest in Sports Science.
  10. Essendon will be right for his Hamstrings as they have this wonderful substance that is suggested that it will assist in repair of muscles.....Allegedly. Sorry could not help my self
  11. Where other see scandal and injustice we should see opportunity, is there any opportunity here for us? Also, in the longer term, the gamble for Sydney in disenfranchising their other players on the list by this deal what affect if any will it have? Will they get value for money over the longer term? If they get the deal over the line and he goes to Sydney well so what? how does it affect us and where we are at as a club? Hypothetical Opportunity - If Mumford goes to Hawks and not GWS does that open us to trading some of our Ruck stocks to GWS who are in need of one (eg. Jamar/Spencer/Fitzpatrick) for an early pick? Geez! What would we need to pry the number 1 pick from GWS? Imagine the apoplexy in the other clubs if we were to secure pick 1 and 2. (Who needs a PP) What Midfielders can we pry loose from other clubs in need of those picks? Clubs looking for a young KPF (Boyd) or even gun midfielder. As an aside I was sitting listening to Eddie hypothesise about the dissolution of the AFL Commission and thinking that is scary for us as we are by no means financially stable or sustainable as they are. So its all right for Eddie and Collingwood to talk Mutiny on the Bounty but the reality is going it alone is not a very good option for the MFC. They will be right with their many sponsors but teams like us would be endangered.
  12. Seeing that you have called many of our players pathetic I reckon that means I am within my rights to calling many of your posts moronic. Why don't you take your "Special" comments and start your own thread about the team and its weakness and leave my thread for the posters who want to discuss Col Garland's words of Resolve. The thread is about Col Garlands words of character and strength. To show that when faced with the pains of constant criticism and loss that a player like Col is able to say I will not break, we will not break and we will keep fighting. If you want to debate that then go ahead don't make broad moronic statements about the teams ability and whether the MFC should be publishing players review from 2013.
  13. Just watched Colin Garland Season Review Video on the MFC Website and was blown away about his last few lines "Your mates are what drive you through pre-season, your mates are what drive you through, you know, ten or eleven losses in a row and that's what kept us going the whole time I feel. And sort of, if we haven't been broken yet, I don't think where going to get broken....at all" http://m.melbournefc.com.au/video/2013-09-25/season-review-colin-garland
  14. I don't confess to know anything about Brads ability to be a coach but I know that he will be the best coach MFC has ever seen because he was an average player in a bad team and that means he will be an absolute gun as a coach.
  15. Love it welcome back Brad and Pia. Love all the doubters who obviously know all about Brads ability to coach after seeing him play at Melbourne and talking to him at functions. It's seriously is a big issue as a development coach he is starting his coaching career under the tutelage of one of today best teaching coaches. (If you rate R Lyons & J Longmire) Where do MFC get off bringing him back to the football club he spent most of his footy days at? The audacity of the Dees next minute they will be asking for a priority pick.
  16. There is a dead set certainty that this thread will have a rumour, a sauced certainty that may or may not come true and a whole lot of conjecture that get debated and discussed to the enth degree. Someone will generalise, someone will hypothesise and someone will criticise. My own certainty is nothing (of substance) will occur until after the GF
  17. So as long as the AFL Commission has confidence in him then he stays?
  18. Could someone explain the process around how you sack the CEO of the AFL? I will not argue for and against because I have not come down either side in my opinion. But would be interested to know the process for sacking the AFL's CEO.

  20. I honestly could not argue for or against a Darwin trip as I am unsure of the sports science around benefits and cost of it. As long as Danks not involved I am of the opinion you should trust your people who know this stuff to advise what is best. One thing I would say is that if hour fitness reaches the level of the saints in their Finals push days with Lyons and Misson I would be very happy.
  21. I voted for sloane and selwood but would be happy with any of the following. Cross Swallow Shuey Adams Because I believe we need mids who have a few preseason into them that we could plug into the team
  22. I reckon Garland has come of age this season and has done so for most of the season. To me the difference is how external people from the club have mirrored what his coaches have said. I really think Rawlings has been a really good influence on the backs and I am glad that we have kept him as it will be really great for the group. Most improved because of the consistency throughout the year where as all other candidates have had improvements in bursts rather then sustained periods.
  23. Pretty good midfielder with off field concerns looking for more money elsewhere. It's the risk of hidden costs to money and reputation I would be trying to weigh up. I think there are other midfielders available that have less risks surrounding them. Hard call to make personally i would prefer lower risk.
  24. There seems to be a lot of uber optimism that is bordering on counting chickens. i would hope that we improve under Roos but how much and when is anybody's guess. Whether there is improvement or not for St Kilda is anybodies guess. i would hope we go better but still hard to call definetively always endeavour not to Ante Victoriam ne canas triumph
  25. Thats a shame. What are peoples thoughts about Dal Santo?
