If Ronaldo leaves.....we'll have plenty of cash to splash around for the quartet-repeat title....

Wow. Got to be good for his confidence heading into the French. However, the French is his bogey slam, especially against Nadal.

Lleyton Hewitt breaks his title hoodoo....finally albeit against lesser ranked players than the likes of Nadal and Federer...still, it's a win.
  11. Thanks for that Titan. That is really interesting. I had a feeling Melbourne was up there for actual results. It confirms my thoughts on Sydney as one of the better wickets despite the return of 14 results. I agree with RR's assertion that curators maybe influenced by Ground management and stakeholders in TV rights - to some degree. There is a balance, but you would want 4-5 days of play evertime you host a Test Match. In particular at Melbourne and Sydney venues. I'd imagine management would be feeling quite nervous in the first two sessions of a test match. Crossing everything for a minimum of wickets to be taken.
  12. Certainly agree with Sydney on top. In terms of return of test results in the last 10 years, I wonder which city/wicket comes out on top?
  13. Melbourne seems to be one of the better ones now. Certainly better than two decades ago, even prior to the drop-ins.
  14. Maybe. I'd back India to make a score. I'd lean towards a draw.

Thanks QC. The question remains, which one is easy on tour, which one not-so-easy??............... Indeed.

Anything to do with Henin out of the picture......or Williams sisters reaching their twilight....maybe I'm just being a little sceptical.
  17. Where, oh where are the quality spinners that were spruiked that Australia would produce on the back of Shane Warne's brilliance...............we want more "freaks with tweak!!"
  18. Yes, I think so too. No spinner has really stepped up yet and put their hand up. Selectors may choose on gut feel for the Ashes with Hauritz to tie up an end, well at least try and tie up one end.,,,
  19. Mitchell Johnson, sensational. Good series win in South Africa, 2-1, despite the last test loss by outright (innings and 20 runs). McGain's figures ......wow. I think that just about wipes him out for the ashes, based on the selectors thoughts of similar circumstances with Krejza.
  20. I will be your first member, but it will be a hard nut for him to crack.
  21. Got to give the bowlers a rest. Apparently the run ups were creating problems for the bowlers becaues of the rain. Besides we've pretty much won anyway. Batting again and posting a massive lead, puts QLD out of the game totally Titan, what a lead of 400+ with more runs this morning, they won't make the runs, almost impossible. May as well bat until lunch then send QLD in with a lead of over 500. Well done Vics, you deserve it. edit: - Just checked baggygreen. QLD have been sent in with a target of 592 from 67 overs remaining in the day. The VICS declared at 282/5 in the second dig. With Nannes in find form we will probably win anyway 'outright' with him taking 5 wickets.
  22. A little Rogue. Definitely a bit of hot streak in him, which is the competitor I like to see. He reminds me a little of someone else.........Justin Leppitsch of Brisbane Lions ilk. Is that a good look-a-like....?
  23. IMHO I thought whilst Gilchrist had some faults with his keeping, he was a handy keeper. I've seen Haddin a fair bit now, and he seems to me to be making as many errors, if not more... than Gilchrist. He's definitely handy with the bat on the flipside Haddin, I'll give him that.
  24. Can he what! Such a level head for 20yo. What a find after so many BIG retirements. Not sure about views or reports on his captaincy potential, but I would rather him than M.Clarke in the future.
  25. The batting track now has gremlins in it. Aussies in a good position. The referral system has teething problems too.
