  1. Actually, we're (VICS) are going for back to back. It's the Ford Ranger (One-dayers) that have been the stumbling block. The Vics have been overall the most dominant of recent times in reaching finals in all forms of cricket. From Hookesy to Shipperd the Vics have really been the dominant force domestically on a consistent basis. Whereas other teams such as NSW, QLD, Tassie have randomly been hot & cold.
  2. WA beat Queensland by 3 wickets. Queensland had WA 6/44 ! chasing 105. Phew ! Phew The VICS beat Tassie to host final. By an innings and 46 runs. Nice warm up for the Final.
  3. Vics grab 1st innings points and lead by 136 runs at 8/358. Hopefully Wade (my main man) can be a pain in the ar$e for the opposition again. Extending the lead to 200 would be ideal ?! Go Wade. MCG is looking good at present for the final. However, stranger things have occurred. Queensland are 29 runs in the black (6-209) on their second dig against WA. They look beat at present. Fingers crossed that WA knocks those 4 wickets off quickly and gets the required chase with ease.
  4. Test team announced Ricky Ponting © (TAS) Michael Clarke (vc) (NSW) Doug Bollinger (NSW) Brad Haddin (NSW) Nathan Hauritz (NSW) Ryan Harris (QLD) Phillip Hughes (NSW) Mike Hussey (WA) Mitchell Johnson (WA) Simon Katich (NSW) Clint McKay (VIC) Marcus North (WA) Steven Smith (NSW) Shane Watson (NSW) North is in, new inclusions are Steve Smith and Ryan Harris. Clarke announced. I wonder if he will be allowed to return. Time will tell if Bingle will let him go.
  5. Yet Cricket Australia and the Aussie Cricket Test team are sponsored by three.
  6. Agree with grazman, Grimes to Watts and RR. I know no-one really laughs at the ol' blonde jokes Rhino, but they're all related to your 3 points. Maybe Katich didn't shake him (Clarke) up enough ?
  7. Correct. It was the situation the Vics found themselves in, that I was reacting to t_u, not your post in general. Good win by the VICS - 54 runs. Wade 91 runs top scored. All comes down to the last match for home ground honours for the big final against the Bulls.
  8. Well, well, well. Wade is in fact being a nuisance for WA it turns out. Our lead now currently 157 runs with :- Wade 60* (not out) 9 x 4's ; 1 x 6. Hastings 29* (not out) Go Vics. edit: we've lost our 7th wicket. 7/262. Lead is now 192 runs !! at Drinks. and Damien Wright is cutting lose. 30 off 19 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Wade 65 runs Wright 30 runs at this stage fingers crossed for a lead of 230+..??
  9. !!! (Carp) I'd back Wade to be a nuisance for WA, he shows a bit of G&D in the middle. Fingers crossed. If they can somehow get to a lead of 175+, it's game on.
  10. Vics lead by 19 runs in 2009/10 Sheffield Shield against WA. Vics are 3/94 (1st innings 199) after bowling WA out for 274. Jewell 36* McDonald 10* Go Vics. Need outright win (max. points) to host final against QLD.
  11. Anyone seen the Aussies & Kiwi's play that Twenty/20 on that ground last night which resembles the size of a postage stamp ? McCullum went nuts.
  12. Cannot believe their last wicket stand. It's a sad day. On the bright side they can still secure a home final. Now they've got to get up for the one-dayer on Sunday. This loss may have knocked the stuffing out of them though. I heard Clint McKay talk before, they're shattered. C'mon VICS....I want them to get the clean sweep.
  13. Yeah, but 104 ? And were 7/33 ?! Terrible. Yeah, see, always take note of the wicket and conditions as well as the forecast when deciding the toss WYL. There's more evidence right up your alley. So what is the highest for female in One Dayers ?
  14. I cannot believe it ! We've "set" them 251. All out for 104. Apparently it was overcast with plenty of moisture - plenty of swing happening An outright win will guarantee a home final. We already have 2 points from the first innings.
  15. Can the Vics take honours in all 3 forms of the game ? They already have the T/20 in the bank, now they host the One-Day Domestic final on Sunday and are well clear on the Sheffield Shield table. Go Vics ! Bill Lawry you legend ! ("You need good luck, and I had luck - I was born a Victorian !")
  16. All part of the evolution and changing landscape of Cricket. There is one common denominator in all of this. Money.
  17. Sign of the future ?
  18. Well, the Paki's have gone home winless and the One Day series began against the West Indies yesterday at the 'G' in front of just over 25,000 people on a glorius sunny day (32 C). Is one-day cricket on the decline, or can Friday nights Twenty/20 crowd of 60,000 + give some excuse as to the below par audience on Sunday ? The scheduling could be a factor to the poor turn out on Sunday/night being the night before school, etc.
  19. What are you talking about ? David Hussey is playing he top scored with 40*. Meanwhile Bill Lawry is in his element with Tait breaking 160 plus and consistently over 150km/h. Aussies right in it with Pakistan now 4 down for 60.
  20. Don't let his pedestrian score of 32 off 26 balls fool you, in this Twenty20 game. Some will say if it wasn't for him....blah. FFS let Warner play his natural game pup. David Hussey was the man for me.
  21. How on earth does Michael Clarke get a gig in the Twenty/20 side for Australia, let alone the captaincy for the Twenty/20 side ? His Twenty/20 form is horrible.

You will never learn anything if you don't "care" WYL. Fact is he is no shiek. Which you intimated he is.

Yeah, that's the one...... WYL Roman Abramovich is Russian. He is no shiek. A very wealthy russian.

Could have gone either way. Justine looked the winner at the end of the second set winning her set 6-3. Both girls took a break before the third set. It halted proceedings and Henin's purple patch where Serena was able to get her game going again by breaking justine. In the end a good final, congratulations to both and to Serena for defending her title, as well as equalling Billie Jean King.

C'mon Justine ! 3-4 down and back on serve after breaking back.
