There's one certainty in footy. The umpires will make mistakes and supporters will continue to think it's targeted.
Get on with it, poo happens.
Largely agree however the brownlow betting scandal from all of two years ago sticks out like a sore thumb.

'Happy enough' with the result given the first quarter. The mens department will file this one under to be continued, and our forward options will be significantly enhanced come finals.

Picked that live and was impatiently awaiting the review system, expecting it to somehow find a way fail us again.
Had to settle with being astonished that the Crypto.com contract wasn't the highest priority.

Equally, there's no rush. They can just sit on all this until draft night.
I haven't kept up with draft changes for a while, but the below seems to indicate that this is not the case (?)
"The Selections Only trade window opens on Monday, October 23 at 9am AEDT, and closes on Friday, November 10, at 5pm.
A brief window will also open prior to the second round of the National Draft (Tuesday, November 21) from 5:45pm to 6:30pm."

We've just lost our senior head of strategy on game day & midfield coach. A big blow given we've hardly set foot outside the top 4 in three seasons. Who are the leading contenders to fill this void? Ideas floated have been a more offensively minded thinker, the likes of Don Pyke or Blake Caracella. Alternatively, do we stick with what we know and go for a more defensively minded thinker?
Would love Pyke. Swans would be very unhappy to see him go.

7.50am match @Demonland ?
In the spirit of appropriate production support escalation, I will raise a ticket in the Critical category.

Hard work to get the ultimate is a given. I see the next 3 matches as doable, even with our stifled forward arc. The challenge is there to be embraced.

By the by, Trac also had his legs taken in his kick for goal. Also should've gotten 50 for player entering protected area before ump called play on. Still think it was a cracking game.

Excellent analysis but a little unfair to ANB, who may lack finesse but was often in the thick of the action.
And maybe a bit generous to Jordon, who strikes me as a trier who hasn't quite got what it take\s.
Perhaps an edit @joeboy 😀

I still believe this issue is an overrated concern. You can splice and dice the numbers any way you want, but the five teams that have played the most games there have won 4 Permierships this century while the bottom five have won just the one between them.
True wrt premierships, but the potential impact is large. To greater and lesser degrees, that probable loss vs potential win could be the dfifference in:
- A coach getting sacked
- A player deciding to leave
- A top 8 finish (and the related financial / media windfall)
- A board spill
Edge cases perhaps, but it would be nice if we moved closer to a real draw rather than a fixture.

So your saying that these other products are produced in the process of burning the oil for energy?
Sharpen up.
Sure thing Cathy.
Read what I said. Nowhere do I mention these products being made from burning oil for energy. Stop projecting your frustrated inability to comprehend information outside your acceptable messaging as other peoples deficiencies.
18 hours ago, Little Goffy said:Also, you've got your figure backwards; 70% is used for fuel.
By fuel, I was referring to gasoline. Which if you'd bothered to research prior to your 'fact-check' you would have realised. Estimates there range from 30-40%.
18 hours ago, Little Goffy said:Reduced demand for fuel oil will reduce the price of oil as a petrochemical/hydrocarbon input. So, yeah, it is good luck for all of us who use those products because the transition to renewable energy will make them all cheaper.
Seriously, sharpen up.
I was not responding to pricing, but the elimination of fossil fuel use.
Seriously, gate-keep elsewhere like Facebook.

Let's hope so. Invest in renewable energy. A major diver of inflation over the past 2 years is the cartel behaviour of local providers, and the price setting power of the OPEC cartel.
70% of a barrel of oil goes to products other than fuel. Good luck living a modern life without them.
Regarding the report, it will be a challenge for the AFL but as noted they can just move on to another lobbiest captured industry.

A number of years ago I flew to Adelaide ($56) then drove a rental to Alice ($300 total fuel inc) for the match (ticket x2 $50). Overnight in Port Augusta ($130) with 2 nights in Alice (for $190 total). Flew back to Melbourne red eye (~$300). Money well spent and a great experience (even through West Coast pipped us).

I agree with you to an extent.
Look, I guess I just wanna believe that we exceeded them noise- and passion-wise. Surely there’s no harm in letting us bask in this for a bit, even if it is partly wishful thinking. We need this feeling. It should bode well for our next match and hopefully beyond.
