you claimed people said he should be delisted.......i can't find one who did you claimed people said he shouldn't be given a chance ......i didn't get that impression as for recruiting blunders, b-grader, comparisons to wines........these are just opinions.....get over it
-
no-one is saying toumpas should be de-listed or not given a chance nor are they saying he can't improve many are just giving their opinion on his abilities at afl level as they see them. that's what forums do
-
how's that itch coming along bbo? it takes longer than your 2 weeks from a bad to a good haircut too oh the schadenfreude
-
s'pose you won't be posting tomorrow bbo?
-
well i thought this was a toumpas thread
-
we can only hope so
-
you're right about his ability to find and use space. he can also be a nice kick if given space but he is as slow as molasses and is hopeless in contested footy or man on man he has a long way to go

i think the problem with 20 is that they have then left school for 2 years and are starting to build careers and may think twice whether they continue into professional afl footy. to do it i think you would need an elite well funded u21 competition. You'd still have to allow 18yo's to be drafted but they would have to compete against the older u21's however i don't our population is big enough to support elite-u18, elite-u21, AFL and all the state leagues

-
biggest problem drafting players from the u18 comp is they don't play the same style of footy as the afl they don't flood, zone or play defensive football (under instructions i believe) they are more into attractive offensive footy without the negative tactics of senior footy and are thus often unprepared when they step up to afl drafting u18s in the present setup is too much of a lottery

statistics also show that we beat wc in most measurements (and still lost by 93 points)

yeah, "hird is angry"......stop the presses robbo is flying his true colours i've lost all faith in him having any genuine objectivity and therefore credibility -
sue, just because "all clubs do it" doesn't mean they all do it as frequently and strongly as the mfc seem to be doing lately nor is it in the same context as being such a disaster of a club which has sacked most of its management for lack of performance and promised a new level of realism in managing the club saying "all clubs do it" is to much of a cop out

I can see a place for the current emblem (which i don't mind as an emblem) and a place for a more marketing oriented logo (promoting the "Demons") leave the current emblem for more official stuff and have a very simple demon logo for merchandising and marketing can't see why you can't have both A competition (with prize) for a (new) demon logo might be a good idea P.S. wouldn't mind if the current emblem was slightly simplified too

thought we had a whiz-bang art director / advertising exec type on the board
