  1. i actually think the opposite. because of the afl's, protect the head, pay a free kick, a lot of players are now perversely putting their heads in positions that are extremely risky......just to win a free kick (and maybe show how tough they are)
  2. agree, and then there is the virtue-signalling hypocrites like bransom and joyce and organised religion et al. i blame population explosion for igniting these baser sides of human nature. 8 billion [censored] people and climbing exponentially. 44 years ago it was just half that figure.....think about it. solyent green may be just where it's heading after all
  3. quite so drafting 18yo kids from school is a lottery top 10 picks need to be taken on best available, not needs or speculation, even then there are no guarantees as we have seen time and time again
  4. your problem,od, is your memory of how blatant it used to be, certainly what i call little 'r' racism i liked lg's analogy " it is now a fight and not a bashing " it will never totally disappear, people will naturally gravitate to a group and be wary of other groups. the more pressure a group is under the more that group adopts groupthink and more the tendency for that group to discriminate against other groups whether rational or not. racism is just a form of of discrimination and competition. Demonland is a prime example but our discrimination is not based on racism but most time is quite irrational
  5. true, social media gives a voice and platform to the more undesirables where better? why here in australia, od, believe it or not, though it does get somewhat obscured by the fog of social media and hypocrisy
  6. a lot of it is just [censored] for tat. the left is not short when it comes to trotting out pejoratives and reinventing the english language. there is certainly more polarisation
  7. i certainly agree it is getting worse in many parts of the world, fanned by rising nationalism and xenophobia on the other hand it is improving in other parts
  8. yes, but US Olympic sports (cycling, swimming, etc etc) have signed up to wada, so LDVC's comment re bill of rights is still valid
  9. not to mention their union signed off on it too
  10. maybe not, but i was really only talking about the trade-back rule
  11. and carlton, in good faith, was only prepared to offer a 2nd round pick.....yeah, right
  12. there is debate as to whether this refers just to within the nd or whether it includes Trade period + ND if the former then we could trade back pick 22
