  3. i wonder if there was any afl influencing in the sudden appearance of bs's availability and his speedy appointment?
  4. c'mon nev, don't be such a smartrrrs. you know it was tongue in cheek i was inspired reading an essendon blog and the comments re the new coach. there was so much hate for the scott brothers going back to when they played against the bummers. many were saying they wouldn't renew their memberships etc. much worse than dazzle on game day threads.
  5. bonus prize for the first poster to find a bummers fan who actually approves of their new coach
  6. bs is bs
  7. i thought the afl was setting up an independent panel the afl integrity unit are not conducting the investigation

number of commentators now supporting gooey not accepting clause saying there is a catch-all clause simply saying club can terminate if they deem it necessary
  16. adem might have dodged a bullet peptides.....spare me
  17. paywall can you provide snippets?
  18. gonzo, i don't think you will see cross-examination in the sense you would in a legal trial. lawyers no doubt will be pushing for some system whereby they can pose questions in some format to the complainants and accused, whether they succeed who knows. We should also recognise that at this stage we don't know what the rules of engagement will be for the panel, it's all supposition. And finally we don't even know yet whether the complainants will even make themselves available. Some have indicated they don't want to. i'll be very surprised if the panel will complete their investigations and findings in 2 months or anything close to that.
  19. well i believe at least some of the families have already hired lawyers too so expect lawyers on both sides and yes this will not be like a normal employee/organisation investigation, the stakes have risen but as said before, let us wait and see

i think it was a play on words 🤣
  21. yes i agree that's a real possibility and no resolution could lead to all sorts of problems i don't want to speculate on
  22. well, in the interests of justice for everyone i can't see how cross examination (of both accused and accuser) can be avoided, given very specific and serious accusations have been made. Unfortunately accusations can't just be left hanging in the air so to speak, they have to be tested rigorously in a fair legal process, uncomfortable or not.
