    If we lose to the Saints and GWS,at least we'll have a new coach by Round 4 It won't be dragged out to mid season!

    Even if all our young mids come through in the next couple of years,we still won't have anyone with the class of Scott Pendlebury. I think we should offer him a $9 million / 7 year deal with the Captaincy as a sweetener. We need a Marquee player at the Dees and just his coaching of our young mids would be priceless. C'mon Melbourne,pull of a ruthless deal for once!

    Pick 9 will be Dom Sheed. He easily outclassed Kelly & Aish in the U18'S Champs and kicked 4 goals and is a big Ba$tard already,we need more goal kicking mids like Sydney. Plus West Coast are desperate for him.

    I'm very happy he's gone as he would've just gone through the motions with us and he only plays 2 very good games a year so i'm tipping he's got 6 very good games left! It's the system that p1sses me off,the Cats who've won 3 flags in 6 years say we'll have Rivers and Freo coming off a GF say we'll have Sylvia. Top 4 clubs get stronger,bottom 4 clubs get weaker. Great stuff AFL!!!

    There's nothing stopping Dew signing with us now for the coaching role from 2015 onwards. Would John Longmire like Dew gathering intel in 2014,then joining us?

    Your kidding right? Chappy's older than me!!! We need to bring in under utilised players at the right age a la Kennedy to the Swans,Burgoyne to the Hawks,Ball to the Pies,Goddard to the Bombres See what i'm sayin? No thanks

    When we continually pick duds like Morton,Gysberts,Cook,Strauss we don't deserve the PP. The quicker we get off the Methodone and stand on our own 2 feet the better. Prendergast picked Morton because he won the Larke Medal and had that to fall back on when Dangerfield was still available and had an amazing year at the Falcons. When your recruiting fails,you can't stick your hand out for a PP!!!

    Jack was never leaving,after Neil Craig's first game as coach he said in the post game interview he was ready to sign but his manager (Paul Connors) was overseas and would sign when he returns.Connors gets back and postpones all talk until season's end,all managers do it. Can someone post the post game interview link of Round 13 I think it was.

    Do we really need a thread like this? After losing to both the Suns & Giants,i doubt we'd make the 8 if we played them 11 times each next year!

    Swallow is staying up here and that story that he wanted to play with his brother is crap because he was asked that question before signing his new contract and he said "the only way we will play together is if he comes and plays at the Suns" Swallow is a WA boy and is very close to other WA boys in Harley Bennel,Brandon Matera,Jaegar O'Meara and Jack Martin. Jack Martin signed a 5 year deal and hasn't played a game yet. With Ablett,it will be the best midfield in the land in 3 years.

    Congrats to our 2014 Captain,well done Jonesy, Also Congrats must go to Col Garland,i don't think there would've been a worse place in the AFL than to play in Melbourne's backline this year! And after 10 years Col Sylvia has his best and most consistant year yet,i think the former coach had a bit to do with that,well done.

    Hoping for a win to take into preseason and 2 wins against the Doggies in an awful year. Even though it's Sheeds' last game,they won't win and give us pick 1.

    Like Rivers would come back to us!!! I don't reckon Rivers would feel part of a flag at the Cats after 10 odd games,but he ain't coming back.

    When Roos says he's now 50-50 to coach us,i think we could be reading this wrong. It could also mean he's 50-50 to coach either Melbourne or West Coast. I wouldn't rule him out of the WC job if Woosha doesn't re-sign and his best mate Rossy Lyon is over there. This is just the sort of thing that could happen to us at the 11th hour,the Eagles swoop and we're in the crapper again. Just Thinkun

    He has announced it tonight on the eve of our last game-makes sense Nathan Jones said last night the new coach will be announced in the next 2 weeks-makes sense Leigh Tudor is moving back to Melbourne at the end of the year,he will be Roos' senior assistant-makes sense. Rocket Eade re-signs with the Pies after most probably being told by PJ that he wasn't successful-makes sense. This can't not happen with all of the above,the wait is over. Geoff Walsh will be Footy Ops Manager. Done Deal PJ has just pulled off the almost impossible,WOOHOO!!!

    I watched him play on Saturday for the Suns 2's against Broadbeach and he did ok,didn't set the world on fire which surprised me as Broadbeach are average this year but beat the Suns by 94 points but I think that was more because they were kicked out of the NEAFL for next year so they wanted to make a point. I think he'd be handy around Viney and Toumpas.
