Haha, one swallow Dappa Your Eagles have a long history of dropping games I want them to win and winning games I'd prefer they'd drop. I can't trust them Solid win though

Righto Macca, we'll see how long I last before I forget to put my tips in Let's start with Falcons Steelers (shudder) Eagles
  3. It won't cost anything like that I've been sniffing around the Crows forums Apparently Lever is overrated and can't defend one on one Sssshhhhh !
  4. Might just be me but I reckon there is a slight but nasty whiff of Hawthorn about this
  5. On the street or on BigFooty ?
  6. Reckon the OCRSL will regret this in the not too distant future. It will be sad to see that great old room & stage fall into disuse when it's been so vibrant. No doubt the Caravan Club will rise from these ashes but where ????? The roll call of acts they've had there is amazing. A couple of my fave gigs there were The Black Sorrows where the indefatigable Joe Camelleri spent a Sunday arvo blowing the roof off the joint and Joe Creighton's "Into the Mystic" show which is a cracker.
  7. Not many bands go from playing a cider festival in Wonga Park to selling out 4 gigs at the Corner in 6 months. I agree with Nut - check 'em out if the chance presents. Their album is worth the investment too. Going the vinyl seemed a good idea at the time but it's a [censored] to play in the car !
  8. A few old blokes in the eastern suburbs might get a bit of a hurry up Return of The Wiz
  9. I think the $800K is less of an issue than what we'd have to give up to get him - even if he wanted to come to MFC. Agree though, he is the type of player we need. Relentless outside running, great skills & decision making. It will be fascinating to see what becomes of the GWS squad should they win the flag in the next year or two. How many will stay and build on their success. How many will attempt to cash in and get a fat contract elsewhere.
  10. Yep - up til then he could only kick goals on Nathan Carroll People forget it takes a while for most big blokes to be AFL ready Which underlines why those dismissing Tom Boyd may well rue their words Also underlines what a freak we have in Jesse !
  11. You didn't make it up - I saw it too Flabbergasted I actually would rather have Cale Morton back
  12. Would Like this several times if I could Jaded
  13. I liked him a couple of years ago when he was emerging. Great build for that big bodied mid role Someone on here advised that he was a ball butcher I watched him a bit since That someone was right
  14. Finally made it to your Caravan Club Nut. Reckon I'll be back. A lot
  15. A big weekend for festivals out in the east. Warrandyte Festival, Rock Berry Jam up at Wandin & I spent a bit of time at The Basin Music Festival. Saw heaps of different acts & different genres. A highlight was seeing Nick Charles & Pete Fidler playing together. Jaw droppingly good. There's starting to be a few vids of them on YT so here's a couple : Nick Charles Pete Fidler on dobro playing with Bill Jackson at Nut's favourite haunt, the Caravan Club
  16. Did you get on the panel ? I reckon you'd go alright on music trivia knowledge
  17. Shades of Patti Smith / Chrissie Hynde in there HT

That would likely be the final straw. On top of Gore's mooted move to the Eagles & the likely loss of Crabtree to FA, the owner & GM might find themselves strung up from the Golden Gate Bridge
  19. Good stuff. Husker Du's Bob Mould later formed a band called Sugar. They provided another song for me & my mates to slaughter
  20. A few mates & I, armed with guitars & the like, gather weekly & murder a number of songs - some of which are obscure, some of which are much loved favourites. We don't discriminate, we are c r a p at all of them. Here's one of our recent victims from the mid '80's. It's also one of my very favourite songs - I am a sucker for a jangly guitar sound - so I thought I'd throw it in here for the Usual Suspects in this thread
  21. Found something tonight whilst trawling YouTube. Thought it might find an appreciative audience here
  22. Can't help you with Soundwave nut but if you don't find something you like, I see yer man Russell Morris is playing the Caravan Club on Sunday
  23. Reckon I was there for that one as well. Chrissie was a captivating performer & Divinyls were a great live band. And few better debut singles than "Boys In Town" have been released The Palace was a fantastic "big" venue. It had the capacity of the "beer barns" (eg Pier Hotel, Tarmac, Village Green, Manhattan) but with a better vibe. More like a concert Not that it didn't have a bogan element. Saw Gangajang (fantastic band) there with Katrina & The Waves. One witty fellow up the front called out "show us yer t i t s". Katrina gave him a look that would stop a charging rhino then dumped a jug of water all over him. Bands needed to pull a crowd to make it work though. If The Palace was only half full or less it had a bit of an aircraft hangar feel to it
  24. There's a documentary that screened on the ABC last year on the journey of Jeremy Oxley Can't find the whole thing online (maybe WYL can get his hands on it) Doco website here :
  25. My kids were just young teens when they introduced me to Paramore. I heard "Misery Business" and got hooked. Then they attempted to draw me into the teenage girl debate of who's better - Paramore's Hayley Williams or Juliet Simms from Automatic Loveletter And being teenage girls they despised anyone who only knew "Decode" from the Twilight movie. Best played loud
