  1. The Great Pretender replied to GCDee's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
    No thanks.
  2. History in the making. The clash between St Kilda and North Melbourne will be the last game at Etihad before the Stadium’s renaming after the Marvel Comics franchise. Goodbye Etihad. Hello Captain America.
  3. Anyone need a rest?
  4. I reckon the suns will still be in the game until well into the third quarter.
  5. Quoted from the afl.com.au article
  6. 7. I have discovered a great prospect for the Melbourne Football Club. Warragul’s Noah Gown kicked 5 goals last week for the Gippsland Power in their win against Northern Knights. He’s 193cm and plays KPF - with that name, he would be great standing in the forward line next to Maxy when the big man’s resting. “TAC Cup 2018 Northern Knights 5.1 6.2 9.8 10.8 (68) Gippsland Power 2.0 7.3 8.4 13.7 (85) GOALS: Northern Knights: Naylor 3 D'Intinosante 2 Potter Wild McKenzie Barro Bowkett Gippsland Power: Gown 5 Duursma 2 Hodge Motton Flanders Hood Hume Mosquito BEST: Northern Knights: Potter D'Intinosante Philp Bowkett Wild Davies Gippsland Power: Beck McGannon Gown Flanders Reid Motton”
  8. Saints fans are also seething over drafting McCartin ahead of Trac.
  9. My guess is the reason why we would pay for him would be to play some good footy.
  10. They definitely have to do something about this because I've noticed this sort of thing creeping into kids' games. Did the AFL send a memo out to the coaches this week?
  11. Knowing how very dearly you hold onto those rat's hats, I'm flattered. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  12. Agree. That's why I often come to this thread to find out what's going on at Melbourne. I always get a polite response and people are always so concerned about my welfare.
  13. Not sure if anybody has considered this but Kieren Collins is a fair sized unit and a strong key position defender who some believe is not that far behind Weitering. I don't believe Essendon will pass over Weideman if we take a mid with pick 3. Collins might well be the player to go for with 7.
  14. Do you blokes talk ever about footy here?
  15. Nakia's father is a cousin of the father of Che, David and Cockatoo-Collins. The word is that but for a leg injury he carried this year, he might well have been a top 20 pick. Definitely worth a look because he has real X factor.
  16. A quality young midfielder and the best KPP coming up through the system. What could go wrong?
  17. Who do you think we'll get in 67 day's time?
  18. I didn't go but I'm told that he was very composed during the training sessions and, like Stretch, didn't look out of place at an AFL training session.
  19. I know we've strayed from the OP but what was obvious to me from almost the start was the Neeld game plan of going wide into the forward line. I remember a nab cup game v Hawthorn when we were pantsed by Buddy. They went direct to the forward line and kicked goal after goal. We went for the pockets and had trouble scoring. This continued through 2012 and you could feel the players weren't responding. You really needed a much stronger team to get away with such tactics. The free flowing style we had under Daniher and Bailey were good to watch when things were going well but I dare say that things will be different now that Roos is on board.
  20. Chanderpaul, after who the OP of this thread was opened all those years ago, just passed Alan Border in test runs scored. Congratulations.
  21. Yeah, I reckon when a couple hundred million bucks suddenly disappears there's always room to suspect something dodgy just happened.Hopefully, this will have no effect whatsoever on the price of bananas.
  22. If Paul Roos gets wind of this thread and realises what the typical Melbourne supporter is like, there's no way known he'll coach Melbourne let alone ever look at a banana again.
  23. Steve Smith is a spinner? When did he last take a wicket in the longer form?
  24. I don't know why you're so surprised about Russell bagging the club when we have supporters and even an ex-president kicking the club when its down. Treat yourself to a banana smoothie and relax about it.
