Clearly some deals are done late in trade week, some early and some even before it starts.

Disagree to an extent. A lot of deals are done before trade week. Players often nominate the club they want to go to before trade week as well. I wouldn't be leaving everything to trade week, or you end up with other clubs' scraps.
