Have always thought Sparrow was fantastic
my favourite little moment last night was in maybe the third quarter he got into a bit of a scrap and was holding two blokes by the jumper at arms length, one in each hand.
He’s only a little fella and when you meet him and chat to him he seems like he’s about 12, but gee he’s a tough kid and really cracks in.
As for BT grouping him as a player ‘pressing for his spot’, how laughable.
How long ago did you meet him?
He is built like a brick outhouse and over 6 foot. I couldn't believe the size of him when I walked past him locally last year.

1 disposal that almost fell in his lap.
I like Weid, one of the nicest young fellas you'll ever meet, but this was as poor a performance as you could ever expect for a bloke gifted another opportunity to cement a spot leading into finals.
Gutted for him but I don't expect to see him play again this season.

Always been a huge S May fan but some of the finger pointing and what almost looked like abuse to his team mates was really poor tonight. Particularly gave it to Tomo and Gus on multiple occasions.
Kudos to Gus for being one of the first to console May after his brain fart in the last that probably cost us the game.
Looked like a little disharmony down back to be honest. Disappointing.

How many years was he injured for? He still has huge upside as well. And to think we took Weid ahead of him.
.....and McKay 🙄

Hasn't seemed as steady with the ball in his hands since the concussion.
Decision making has let him down, not just his kicking!

Anyone else notice how many times Ben Brown had one arm held when going for pack marks in our 50? At least 3 occassions and all should have been frees.

We were really poor last night.
I am not buying the home ground advantage, 5 day interstate break excuse, they had about 3 hours less break.
You can't excuse getting smashed in clearances which hasn't happened to us for years. This and some awful decision making turnovers cost us the game.
Cats with their dream run home will be minor premiers but still think we'll be top 4.

We were poor tonight and beaten by a better team.
Oh well, it was their Grand Final afterall

Anyone at the game see kossie hit on rayner i think in the second. On the telly you can hear the umps telling him to let go after. It looked like a decent hit but overseas viewers didn't see the carry on after.
Yeah I saw it was nothing in it after the bump just a 5 second show of strength wrestle.

That rugby player was certainly mixing codes last night.
Outrageously great performance

Gus past few weeks have been outstanding in the back flank role, he's one of very few that have improved on last year's form. We'd have lost by several goals more in the past 3 losses without him playing this role.
Not against him playing Mid but can't see Goody changing this current setup.

We're seriously banged up and we've lost our mojo.
Bye could not have come at a better time.

Crowd was eerily quiet in the first quarter even when up by 4 goals.
Was quite bizarre. Almost like the crowd is holding their breath waiting for something to go wrong

I can tell you there are plenty of swans fans that feel they are good things this week
Most of the ones I know think we have been plodding for weeks now getting by on a decent quarter here and there
They always match up well against us and I'm sure this week will be no different - tough game - tough selection choices coming up too
Hard to argue with any of that. They have the skills and the pace to break our lines.
We looked really slow against Freo, maybe it was training loads like last year or perhaps flu that we appear to have been hit by!?
Always match up well against us.

If you listen to the Bruckner/Burgess podcast there was a change of strategy with Darren Burgess as high performance manager, including no more “resting”
Yep I remember this and front of mind when you see the way Lever has been hobbling round for a month.
Definitely keeping same strategy.

Forgot the Saints playing in Cairns. That humidity will be quite taxing.
Beat me to it. This is a huge factor next week.
If we have our standard premiership 3rd QTR the Saints will be spent come the last.

I pity the team we play 4 quarters against.
I don't think we've played more than 2 quality quarters in any match this year and we are still light years ahead of the competition.
Remember when you'd be nervous at the footy?? I haven't felt it all year, I trust we'll get the job done.
