I suggest Maynard might consider that an unworthy slur. Not so much actionable ,just stupid.

Frankly my dear I couldn't give a damn what Maynard thinks about anything. I have a strong view about the reckless intent of that incident. I'm not going to discuss it any further.

    Chop it off

Chop Who’s off. I love the MFC but I’m never going to be chopping mine off for anything to do with it no matter how bad it gets. You can chop yours off. Have to be the most extreme response I think I’ve ever seen on here.

I like this, as as i noted yesterday if Howes playing in defence he could take Mcvee's spot at HB allowing judd to move onto the ball, or perhaps onto the wing.

Bowser wasn't a defender as a junior, but i can't recall what his main role/position was. Was he a mid?

I heard last year that they thought it was going to take McVee a couple more years before he'd move into the midfield. Something to do with still learning the game and having to keep things simple.

Bowser has said in the past that he played as a forward as a junior.

As mentioned in posts above I am not trying to stop the pursuit of Caulfield. My questions to date have been to establish what investigation of alternatives has occurred and also to provide some competitive options which may impact costing factors.

Can be easily stopped if answers required. I will restrain my use of this site but feel it is a valuable tool for all members. You can ignore if you feel inclined, but also welcome comments,

Kate Roffey very specifically and clearly dealt with Fishermans Bend at the AGM. They investigated it. The primary issue was that all of the land that would be relevant for the MFC is owned privately. There is no public land that is suitable for our purposes. Any prospect of buying the private land would be financially not possible. What are you missing. You keep flogging this and it has been covered by the Club. I know this is a forum and anyone can post whatever they like but please move on.

She made it clear they had welcomed any proposals from anyone and had investigated them all including Port Melbourne. Port would only ever have room for the exisiting oval not another one and the club needs two which they can get at Caulfield.

My own view is that Fishermens Bend is no where near where most of our supporters/members live and would be a pain in the [censored] to get to in terms of public transport. Caulfield is ideally placed for access and is in close proximity to what the club knows is the centre of our supporter/membership base. Most importantly at this point at least for a feasibility study, it is being backed by the multiple stakeholders who are required to approve and finance it. It's been settled on after years of work. Lets move on.

I am late to this thread, so apologies if Im treading on old ground.

I *just* saw the Port Melbourne announcement: https://www.portmelbournefc.com.au/city-of-port-phillip-announce-redevelopment-plans/?fbclid=IwAR3eDRse-qnQ6WimemOSWjL5El9qmww_n1eGVnvYqaw2303Nx6E-RgF7yV4

Got to say I'm really disappointed that we didn't pursue this further with Port Melbourne, if we did.  There is enough room there for a second ground and a training centre.

I'm really confused as to how Caulfield Race track is a better fit than Port Melbourne.

The logistics are much, much better than Caulfield.  Where are we training at Caulfield - in the middle of the track?

Really disappointed and keen to learn more about this decision making process.

They mentioned they had looked at every option including Port and Fisherman’s Bend. There were prohibitive issues with every one they looked at. Caulfield is brilliant logistically. It’s in the centre of the heartland. It’s accessible from 3 different train lines. It’s 10 minutes from the MCG. It has only become an option quite recently as the Govt has decided to open it up to wider community use than just the racecourse. There is ample room for two MCG size grounds. All the space for cutting edge sports facilities admin and supporters all in the one precinct. I real need in the area for the facilities so multiple stakeholders who will invest and have an interest in it happening rather than not happening. The timeframe will be something like 4 years if it all gets approved. A lot of work has gone on by many stakeholders to get to this feasibility stage. There is an in principal agreement to pursue this. Pert said that in response to Gary Hardeman asking if we could be gesumped again like Collingwood did at Olympic Park.

He’s soooo nice. I told him welcome to the Dees. He said he feels like he’s been with us for years. He says the boys are all treating him like a close teammate already.

You have beautiful eyes. If you don't mind me saying so.

Would have thought the penalty is back dated to the charging date, as long as the player has started serving that penalty at that time. Certainly that is the way the media articles were reading.

Yep but the problem is they won’t decide anything before the hearing and it’s already been over a month which is longer than the ban should be and no hearing date has been set as far as we’re aware. So the 1 month ban is a joke.

Actually if you look closely it looks like he wouldn't have been able to open his door. Maybe they were protecting the masses from him.

    Yeah it is just you.

Joel Smith is awaiting instruction from the AFL for his hearing.

He is in contact with Gary Pert, Alan Richardson and Reece Conca. He has also spoken to Goody.

The AFL system is so broken. There is a provision for only a one month ban if the player undertakes an education program. So the ban should be finished already but if what you say is correct,  they haven’t even set a date for the hearing and apparently don’t even have an accredited education program in place. So it will be way more than a month at this point when it should have already been over.

Ain’t nothing wrong with that, aye.

What? You're saying you've seen him eat broken glass for breakfast. Punch out brick walls with his bare hands. Headbutt a charging bull. Beat Arnie in an arm wrestle. Send Brayden Maynard into next century with a flick of his little finger. Need I go on.

  11. If he is nominated and no one bids on him the AFL rules provide the following :-

    8.8 Father/Son Rookie Pre-Selection

    (a) Subject to Rule 8.8(b), where an eligible Father/Son Player has been nominated in accordance with Rule 8.4(b) and is not selected at a National Draft or Pre-Season Draft Selection Meeting, the Club with whom he is eligible as a Father/Son Player may include him on its Rookie List prior to the Rookie DraftSelection Meeting in accordance with Rule 10.4.

(b)Prior to the inclusion of a Player on its Rookie List underRule8.8(a), the Club must provide to the AFL written evidence of the Club’s and Player’s agreement to be listed asaRookie. That agreement must specify that the Player can and will only be listed on the Club’s Rookie List if he is not selected by any Club at the National or Pre-Season Draft Selection Meeting.

Its official the dees have nominated him, he will most likely be a very like pick like Taj was or will be a rookie selection, he looks like he could be a great player maybe a steal in this draft

Where is the official announcement? I've looked everywhere. It's not on MFC website or twitter, AFL, any papers website.

Sorry @58er but Caleb Windsor is definitely a right footer. Plays like Max Holmes.  Pace. Skills.  Loves a goal. And can chase down tackle which gives him that added bonus as a running mid.

Love Max Holmes. Nash the teeth every time I see him and think we were about to pick him instead of Laurie and then Cats did a last minute trade to get the pick before us and get him. Stuffed the whole strategy of swapping our future 1st rounder to get the pick. Would be a relief for my teeth if we get someone as good or better

Has the club made any contract with brown or his family, or has any party said yes to this, has brown committed him self to us, getting nervous since we will be apparently only be taking two picks this draft

Does anyone know what's happening with Kynan. I gather up till now he hasn't nominated the Dees and the Dees haven't done whatever they have to do if he does. Does anyone know the cutoff date for father/son nominations.

Does anyone also know whether if he nominates us and we accept that nomination or whatever the process is do we have to take him in the draft or can we leave it to the Rookie draft and if we do that can we still access him as a father son or just take the gamble he'll still be there at our pick.

    It was just 14, 27, 35 for 11.

F2 and F3 were for McAdam and Billings respectively.

We only plan to take two picks to the draft and as spots were limited they therefore could only be used to move up or into the future. If the recruiters feel there's a premium pool of players in the first dozen or so, and subsequently a drop off after that, then they've wisely traded into that premium space in my view.

Still a bit to played out anyway, our picks could still be drastically different again on draft night. We can properly break it down then.

Given Kynan Brown is likely to come in as a FS did Lamb accidentally telegraph that we wont' have 6 & 11 by draft night just something higher.

He can't kick, he's slow, he's really soft, I hear his mum is a drug dealer, there are rumours going around that he slept with his teammate's wife.

Can't believe we wasted a 6th round draft pick on this hack. We could have recruited the next Bontempelli instead.
