  1. Why would people not go??? The game is 5 mins from the G and we get to see our side playing in Melbourne.

Some wonder why we are called fair weather folk when people would even question turning up to support your team because it is just down the road from our home ground. Insanity...

It is not a matter of just buyinf a membership and some merch we need to actually turn up to games and watch the side ffs.

  2. Yep, must pull a crowd on Saturday. We can't chuck a tanty upon being given dud timeslots if we can't draw a crowd to Saturday afternoon games at the G. Unfortunately the Dogs, like our own fans away, will provide a paltry amount of supporters so that won't help a great deal.

We shouldn't hve to rely on the likes of the filth to help our crowd numbers.

While I don't like all of the Sunday games Saturday games make it tough as I play footy but every cloud has a silver lining, as I am injured I will be there!!!

Just need to keep expectations down after the display last week

  3. Knee injury

Thanks. Grimes apparently got 16 possessions last weekend which surprised me (as well as pleased me) as i mainly saw him (on the TV) sitting on the bench.

He did get about 26 in that practice match with the Swans.

It's funny you say MFC will pay for it leaving Newton out. MFC will pay heavily for it if they win this game,

not that I won't want to see a competitive showing. But if we beat them over there, we'll beat them over here later in the season.

And that will leave only one more win allowed for the season if we are interested in strengthening the team with an additional

very good footballer. ;) This is one of those weeks that I just want to game to be over with. It will bring WCE up to 3 wins.

We aren't going to win the Premiership this year.

I mentioned it on Sunday but sat with Grimey's sister during the Geelong game and she said Bails was none to impressed German did not play Grimes enough during the Casey game so think he might still be a touch under done. Reading todays papers the club was really impressed with his work during the preseason saying he was one of our best and will be one of the corner stones of our future so they are just trying to get him in for game time, wouldn't expect to much for a few weeks from him.

Also happy to see maric staying in for the now manditory 4 weeks Bails likes to play players.

  4. i disagree. i don't think anyone thinks they are smarter, nor does anyone on here begrudge anyone else their chance to have a say.

but unfortunately, like life, discussion boards involve interaction with others. when someone turns up, enters a room and introduces him/herself to everyone they have a chane to make an impression. if they are a [censored], carry on, insult people, cause a fuss, and argue for the sake of argueing, people wont like them. just like in real life people don't have to like you.

there are some posters who are a bit gruff, and can be condescending, but who have been around for ages. most of them have proved themselves to be knowledgeable when it comes to footy. the forum will usually take their sides against noobs, especially when the noob carries on in such a fashion.

even the morons who follow y_m from room to room to argue with him don't get that their behaviour is childish and ridiculous and makes almost anything else they say null and void. by the same token, if anyone wants to join in the community, almost everyone here is willing to embrace them, provided you behave within the standards set.

if any poster feels like they are not being treated right they should consider that this is a community, and like any community, you need to learn the order, and earn some respect.

hhhmm not trying to single people out but anytime on any forum anyone calls out a "newbie" like you own the joint as you have been here for so long or says hope the door doesn't smack you in the arse on the way out smacks of smarter than thou for me, but that is me.

Learn the order???? ha ha ha what?

It doesn't matter if you respect someone or not to often on these sites people just slag off each other and players because there is no accountability. We should have some respect for the fact we are all pulling for the same team ffs. Like life as you said we don't like everyone, we don't agree with what people say we should still respect them and if you don't ignore them. To often it turns personal with the "you know nothing about football" or so and so is on drugs.. ridiculous.

  5. As long as Carltank make nothing from it I don't mind it as a venue. Small ground, you feel like you're on top of the action, they need to upgrade the access to the beers though! It used to be very long lines for the good stuff. I recall going there in 95/96 and they still had the standing room area on the Royal parade wing/pocket was a great day with the boys.

  6. Jetta hasn't shown enough to warrant senior selection, just as Newton needs to prove he can back up his VFL performance by having another one. I don't think there's much use giving Newton the yo yo treatment. He needs to learn to be accountable at AFL level and VFL level for that matter consistently.

Grimes Jones Cheney Maric for me.

hhhmm not sure I agree Riick, i think he has shown enough from a skill and determination stand point but he needs to build the tank as they say. he looks like he runs out of gas before half time. He has a future but needs to get further game time in the 2's.

As to Newts if he hasn't learnt the accountability at VFL level yet doubt he will by now, he has played enough games in the magoos. I think he has been showing a lot more accountability in the seniors but he needs to find the ball more and then finish it off with goals!!!

    Newts, Jones, Maric and Grimes//Benny

  7. petjud don't let them get to you, keep on pulling the trigger. The fact you are so new to footy, supporting the MFC and seem to be so passionate about it I find fantastic. A lot of these "people" think they are smarter than the average bear but you don't need to justify yourself to suit others or how they see you on a forum.

I hope your love for club grows and is not diminished but some of the high and mighties on here trying to show you the door instead of trying to encourage the passion you have.

  8. People cry out for loyalty from players like Johnson at the end of last year, slander and slag him off then wonder why the club didn't get the best value "on the open market" for a great servant of the club like Bruce... Can't have it both ways. Loyalty goes both ways, but only when it suits the club huh Jaded???

  9. I recall a story of Olympic rowers who were competing against each other in the Maccas board challenge. Once a week after training they would go to Maccas to see if they could eat one of everything on the board, if I recall one of them was part of the awesome 4-some...

  10. I don't remember Bailey ever bringing in a player and dropping them immediately the following week.

He always gives players at least 2 games in a row, so Maric is safe.

Newton Rnd 1 last year but I am sure there might have been a couple of others.

  11. I agree wholeheartedly with all of the above. More encouraging signs.

Let's get Grimesy and Wheels back in and keep getting the games in these kids.

Soke with Grimey's sister today and she mentioned Bails wanted Grimes to play almost a full game at Casey. For some reason German had him on the bench apnd Bails had to go and tell him again to put Grimes on.

  12. Quite different to this time last year..... A lot of us were writing him off. Unreal, this time around looking forward to seeing if he can give us anything different up forward but really really really looking forward to seeing how Maric goes over 5, 6, 7 games or even better the rest of the season!

  13. Adelaide play Soccer and it is horrible to see. But we do not pressure any teams enough when they start the chip around the back. As mentioned on "on the couch", If you watched Saints vs port you would have seen the Saints in a zone as Port tried to come out of the backline but the Saints would have the nearest player to where a mark was taken sprint as hard as he could to apply pressure to the bloke with the ball then the next line of players to sprint up to take there next zone position. We just lolly gag and job around and hang off allowing teams to eventually easily move the ball around us!

  14. If Juice gets a game this week i will vomit!

Pathetic, breaks my heart watching his sooky, mopey, bad attitude on the ground. Bring in someone who wants it bring in the JURRAH

So how does Jurrah want it more???? I have watch Jurrah play two games and he is far from demonstrative and I have not noticed any MFC tattoo's ffs.

  15. Miller imposes himself on the contest. He runs fifty times harder than Newton. He puts his body on the line.

Newton is weak, does not impose himself on contests, gives up some chases, and doesn't run out 4 quarters.

As I said to someone else on here you need to actually watch him when we do no have the ball in our fwd line. That is one thing he has improved on, his chasing whilst we don't have the ball.

  16. Nothing against the Jett he just looked so out of gas relatively early last week, think he needs to have a couple in the ressies. As have said before Bails usually has players go through 4 or 5 games before sending them to back to the 2's to develop what he suggests.

Newts has to stay, no matter his last few performances he is trying and as long as he gives he should stay in to see if he can improve at the highest level.

Morts needs to improve on his performances so far even though he is young and slight his skills have not been great so far.

Michael Newton, Cale Morton, Bennell, Nathan Jones.
