This was 12 seconds into the game, right in front of Roos goal.

    Play on.

I said it last night but have for years the interpretation of “being in possession” has always been way off. If you’re attempting to get the pill and you touch you’re deemed in possession so players have been allowed to scrag, harry and bring you to ground. It should be if you gain possession

Schalke is the one I know about. Impressive.

Interesting! Schalke what a call from grace. I see the Raiders do the same in Vegas too.

This was the one I remember, Sapporo Stadium for the rugby World Cup.

Eat you heart out Docklands with those moveable seats!

Sports turf is an incredible science these days. And the best stadiums use a combination of natural and synthetic grass (for stability and hardiness) and it comes in a thick profile which results in the turf being ready for play almost immediately. The redevelopment of the MCG and the new Optus stadium used a proprietary pre-grown product called Eclipse Stabilized Turf. Not sure if our construction budget allows for this type of product - but would be great if it did, as we would be able to train on the oval pretty soon after it is laid. Mazer’s pics don’t seem to indicate that there is allowance for a thick profile turf to be installed on top of the current levels, but I don’t know enough about it to say definitely either way. I guess we will know soon enough.

Some of the stadiums around the world are just amazing, is it Japan or Spain where they literally move an entire ground of turf out and a new one slides in.

Mason Cox is 31 and looks cooked as an AFL footballer. As long as Collingwood play him in their team, especially with all the tall timber they had running around under lights last night, they will struggle to win games. They should trade him to Geelong at the end of the season.

They said the coverage it’s the first time 5 players 200cms plus have played in the one side… not sure Mason played much.
You’ve got to feel for him, poked in the eye and  his vision appears stuffed, he just can’t seem to track it into his hands.

Others think Brissy were not impressive, I walked away impressed, with Hipwood to return the fwd line with Joe D finally putting goals away, they have improved. Defence is a concern letting the Pies score so highly but the caveat is the new rules of the week on display that dragged the Pies closer that it should have been.

Leigh Matthews is definitely on his last legs as a commentator.

Had to be told Mason Cox now wears glasses to protect his eyes, as if it was late breaking news to him.

The comments against Cox for the gogs are ridiculous, whatever helps someone play the game (within reason) should be allowed. I remember Jimmy trying to wear a hat and he was monstered for it (on ground and off).

    mmmmmmm

I think they have a very good forward structure with Hipwood still to return.

    Midfield.. equal

    Backline .. we are better

It's when you watch a game like us you realise how well structured our backline defence is. On its day though a dominant midfield can tear it apart.

For a few minutes I was barracking for Collingwood but I came to my senses !!

Yea the Lions are an ave day from us being a real challenge, they good.

    edit:

One thing I’ve noticed is they’re very aggressive, something that might challenge us.
