  1. They could honour a footy legend and Brownlow Medallist by calling it The Barry Round. The beauty of it is that the name works on another level too. Barry = Barry Crocker = Shocker. It would also please longtime Coodabeens caller, Barry from the Barossa.
  2. There once was a ruckman called Dogga With a chopper the size of a logger He could handle the axe But was no good without Max And his next club will be Wagga Wagga
  3. The Grand Final is usually on the last Saturday in September, so anywhere from the 24th to the 30th.
  4. Pffffft. He's completely overlooked the most prestigious of all, the coveted Demonland Player Of The Year Award.
  5. The Herald-Sun has named the umpire as Michael Pell, thus muddying the Pell surname. I'm surprised his name wasn't withheld so that a betting market could be framed as to his identity.
  6. More details have emerged about this disturbing story. It appears that the umpire tried to flee police by running backwards and didn't stop until the copper yelled "Stand!".
  7. Paging @Clintosaurus!
  8. The only way to clear this up is to take the medal off Cripps and award it to the rightful winner, C. Oliver (Melb.).
  9. I can think of 500 reasons why the 'D' would indeed qualify. Could somebody explain @Nascent's Stanley Bruce reference for dummies like me who still can't grasp the connection?
  10. PM sent. It's taken me a number of tries to figure it out and, if my reasoning doesn't add up, I'll be LIVID.
  11. Just the bit about there not being enough suitable ovals in the City of Adelaide and therefore the need to schedule some of the games to be played at selected regional venues. I've heard they're considering Snowtown with the names of the two competing clubs to be drawn from a barrel.
  12. It's called that because most footy fans' response, upon hearing about the concept, is to mutter the magic word (and I'm not referring to "abracadabra" either).
  13. I don't think Luke Molan is an example of anything other than a draftee who had a dreadful run with serious injury and was never able to show his true worth.
  14. Are you saying that Toby was waterboarded? 😲
  15. So would the club, but Toby wanted out. C'est la vie.

It's not just what you say, but how you say it that's important. 9t-rhFoBAMVNfob8.mp4
  17. If he goes earlier, I'd put money on the phrase "Phoenix rises" being trotted out.

Max and Brodie article from today's 'Age'. (Ignore the link title) https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/collingwood-skipper-takes-aim-at-aflw-semi-final-scheduling-blues-afl-pair-on-the-mend-20221108-p5bwdl.html
  19. He coached us to a flag only last year so I think he might know what he's doing. To me he'll always be Simon the Likeable.
  20. How good does that jumper look without all the different AFL and sponsors' logos on it?
  21. One of those words that mean something completely different to what many people incorrectly assume. Laconic definition: Using as few words as possible; pithy and concise. The definition of laconic refers to someone who doesn't talk a lot or uses very few words.
  22. It's a footy fan forum. People are going to post their opinions and thoughts.
