  1. Anyone else able to lip-read Murray when Sam got selected ? When Roosy handed Sam his Guernsey, it looked to me like Murray said it's not Black & White or something to that effect.
  2. Maybe Worsfold did but he isn't the Recruiter is he? I noticed a lot of tension in that camp, with Worsfold and Dodoro having a disagreement over a later selection.
  3. They had an air of disappointment about them when it came their turn to pick Parish.
  4. You get the sense that Oliver was passed on for a gig with Vic Country and Bendigo Pioneers because he was carrying weight earlier in his junior years, but he is looking sharp now. In no way were those rejections a reflection on his talent.
  5. Who else thinks he sounds like Trenners when he speaks? Draft trumps: Sam Weideman
  6. I'd recommend watching the AIS Academy match Vs Weribee Sue, it's the footage that sold me on Parish....just the first quarter was enough. Pretty sure it's the second link down on WJ's Pumping for Parish post.
  7. Well if turns out we take 2 talls with pick 3 & 7 - then this tells me that Hogan's headed back to WA and won't re-sign.
  8. And he tackles like a Demon worthy of an exorcism from the Pope.
  9. Have you checked the complete game footage I posted on the Pick 3 & 7 thread? (AIS Acedemy Vs Weribee) That should answer any questions you have about him because it did for me.
  10. Take this with a grain of salt, but I can't help wondering if there is a battle being played out for positioning in the draft, and the Dons and us might be jostling for the same player in the draft via the draft table. By offering up pick 25 we kind of have the upper hand over them with any other deals that they/we have brewing (ie. the Carslile - StKilda 2 for one pick 5 downgrade trade) and this might be contributing to the delay with the Melksham deal being confirmed. Why give up our hand so early in the piece if there are still other fishies still on the table? Not saying the Melksham deal won't get done, just that we are milking our position (pun kind of intended) for everything that we can get.
  11. I suppose this trade need to be taken in context with the club's stated desire to bring some competitors/ toughness into the side - So its a trade that's relavent to what the team needs most come finals time. I lost count how certain un-named players failed to keep their head over the ball this year, so from this point of view we have just improved the list.
  12. I suppose the trouble is not all clubs would have the exact same opinion on the draft depth.
  13. It was never a late twist. Please don't get brainwashed by these idiots. This outcome was known some time ago and was in fact the reason why all of a sudden we became more comfortable keeping pick 2 & 3 back during the trade period, when we found out who the Saints were going to take (6 weeks ago). If you need proof, I called it in my posts on October 18 (6 weeks ago)

Well the Dees would be fools if they gave up anything close to want they are asking. Collingwood are on the search for a club foolish enough to give up high draft picks to help them build a talented list and have the done the same thing the last few years to improve there draft position. They're giving up players who might be at the top of there game right now and are excellent bait to hang on the line but these players are more than likely going to trend downwards over the next few years in performance and Collingwood can see that coming. I'd be way more interested to go and watch a talented youngster drafted at 23 develop than watch Beams. Doesn't get me excited at all and more than anything I reckon he's the wrong fit for our club.

Doesn't strike me as the type to have 8 years left in him. All of those drug fueled finals campaigns would take it out of you. Collingwood say he wants out for personal reasons but I say there is a reason they don't want him and that is my hesitation - I had the same hesitation with Dawes and my instincts where correct on that one too - way overs and hasn't come close to justifying what we gave up for him. I do like his ability to take out the opposition with brutality which I can't argue with. If there is one club I don't want to pay overs for a player it's Collingwood. Something stinks about there demand for a high pick and a good young player. I can smell the stench from a mile a way - they are kidding themselves and I hope our guys can see through it.

I'd struggle to even give up pick 23 for Beams Use the higher draft picks to get in good young talent that will be at least 6-10 year players for the club. Trade and draft for the older experienced guys on the cheap like we have been doing (Moneyball) Last time we traded with the Pies we gave up way to much to get Dawes - I hope they don't make the same mistake again.
  17. If you knew who the club were targeting in the upcoming draft, would you mention it on here or zip your lip?
  18. Well let's relate it to another topic of discussion - Frawley Mcstay is a substantially better kick than Frawley and they're the same height - do you expect Frawley to be a top notch kick? Cos he's not.
  19. I think he means he's a good kick relative to: the taller you get...the greater the ball drop to foot...the harder to control, so he is one of the better kicks for a 193cm. I would concur from the vision I saw - has all the makings of a damaging left footer packaed into a KPD.
  20. Saw this guy play in the U18 Grand Final and he really caught the eye - liked his confidence, skill and aggression in that game Could be a 30-40 range pick and not a bad option to add to our list as a developing KPD....after we have plenty of midfielders lined up. Knightmare's view: Daniel McStay (VIC – KPP) Height: 193cm, Weight: 86kg, DOB: 24/06/1995 Recruited from: Eastern Ranges Style: Jarrad Waite Player comparison: Range: 20-60 Profile: McStay is a tall who still seems to be growing into his body having grown significantly in recent seasons. Still a project player and still not a particularly physical or aggressive player by key position standards and is still developing that strength and ability 1v1 but in saying all this he has some real talent. McStay stands out with his versatility and small man skill set at his height. McStay is an excellent athlete and has some real linebreaking ability for a tall and isn’t afraid to take on the game. He’s also got a real leap on him which allows him to fly for some strong contested marks. He’s also an excellent kick at his height and hits his targets around the field and can convert from his set shot opportunities up forward. It’s unclear which end he settles into but given his strong improvement in recent seasons there is potential for him to continue his strong development at either end.
