Training Ground?
I wonder if Beaumaris Sec college area was ever considered. It already has MCC facilities including two ovals ( not sure on dimensions). There is also plenty of space there for administration buildings and an indoor facility.

He needs a Pre season for the pre season. This is it. He doesn’t have a moment to waste.

Not a peep from the media yet re the completion of feasibility but one straight away that Trac will miss the BNF.

I think the damage has already been done. You cannot walk back the absolute [censored] storm we had in the last few months. It didn’t play out well for us, nor Trac. The best thing we can hope for is Houston stays out, we redeem ourselves and try again for slightly less of an asking price in 12 months.

Time to go Goody?
It got deleted? Why? I get that it’s likely horse [censored], but is there a policy now to delete threads based on horse [censored]? By that definition why is this thread still open? 😄

The Ollie Hannaford Thread
all forwards will capitalize on speedy ball movement. However undersized forward lines will capitalize the most as they prey on turnover and spread. Carlton's duo of Curnow and McKay show you what a functioning forward line could like at the Dees with our current contest and stoppage orientated game plan. So we either look for better quality KPF to compliment our current game style / philosophy or turnover half our list to prioritize faster ball movement with our existing forward line. I don't think there is an in-between here. The Bulldogs present an interesting case study as they have a Hawthorn / Pies style ball movement, however lack any sort of small forward dominance with a Carlton forward line setup. Port have a similarish style to the Dees but probably have more skillful half back line and good ball users in the middle in Rozze and Butters. So a Waterman and Houston acquisition in trade season would on paper improve our list considerably.

I dont think you can credit roffey and pert with that feat. They almost fell into it as a result of the flag in 2021. You could argue they were at the helm when the numbers plateaud and fell in the years that followed.

It’s not Ginnis first rodeo. He has form. Tonight was a good reminder why you need to respect your opposition. in the end it is probably what was the difference.

Time to go Goody?
This is so true. I think we are closer to a Geelong type style which is more of a chaos with quicker ball movement game-style. This was us in 2018 and to an extent in 2021. We have Kozzy who is lethal when the ball hits the ground. Chandler has proven effective and even Fritta. You need these players more in 1-1 situations for them to shine - heck most teams that create a 1-1 situation in their forward line tend to win more than lose. Our forward line is a symptom of poor ball movement, rather than the problem itself. To play the Hawthorn, Collingwood gamestyle is a 4-5 year transition which is not something that is fixable during a pre-season. Their philosophy is out-the-back / counter attacking tactics due to a lack of key forwards in the team. In the soccer landscape, this type of gamestyle is often seen as the 'lesser' of traditional tactics as is usually what the weaker teams try to adopt. I know its a different game, but i think in AFL this is where 'contest' and stoppage based games are where these teams really falter.

Seb Ross - Delisted
Can vouch for character. My missers looks after his kids at daycare and said it’s a wonderful family. Also Ricky Pettards kids too… no comment there.
