My concern is what the players feel coming out to empty stands. We need every edge that we can get and yet this happens.

Start of the season, first game after 6 months and the players run out to empty stands… we are a pathetic fan base.

It seems teams that played opening round have a massive advantage over those the didn’t play. To have had run and to clear away the cobwebs makes such a difference. Not only is opening round plain stupid it also skews the ‘fairness’ of an already compromised draw. Infuriating

We are nothing like the tigers… we are still playing 14 premiership players. We are almost even odds to win the match not rank outsiders

@binman mentioned on the podcast that we have trained this new method last off season and changed back to the more conservative style mid season. It might not be as big of a change as suggested

GWS are going to be very good this year. Easily top 4. They didn’t have hogan, green and they lost ruckman Briggs in the first 10 mins. Finn plays like Judd and they have Genuine A graders. However Briggs out makes a massive difference. Gawn should have a field day. Our midfield needs to take this advantage. The MCG is a big ground and an inexperienced ruckman can get lost. A win over GWS and we are real contenders.

Huge out… they’ll be playing with a second string ruckman. also shows how weak Collingwood were. They played with a team without a ruckman and still lost for 50

Didn’t the GWS ruckman Briggs get injured in the first qtr.. only managed 1 possession. Last year he had the better of Gawn. Huge out of that’s the case. does anyone know the update?

Why is Jefferson not playing? This is an ideal game to trial him with the forwards

Significant loss for the side. These depth players are so important considering you play 23 games plus finals. Hopefully the new ssp recruit can contribute

We have plenty of defenders…

Dees had a third of the side missing. North had a full side and the home ground. Very encouraging. Langford knows where the football is. It’s already innate in him at 19. He will have a field day playing behind Trac, Oliver and Viney. Sharp reminds me of Mitch Hannan but with with a bigger tank. Ben Brown is a good commentator but how did he give the first quarter to North??? AMW is a big loss. It really felt like he could break out this year. Jefferson doesn’t need much of the ball to get 3-4 goals. Just needs a couple of 50/50 to go his way. Should play R1. Woey has put on some size. Pickett could win our b&f even with a missed start.
